Thanks for the vid Michelle! I came straight here when I saw that they are being sold individually in addition to the set. At this price point, I'm curious to know how these brushes perform compared to the Chikuhodo Z-series. I know that some of these BL brushes are gray squirrel + goat hairs, so it won't be an equal comparison. I thought to get animal hair for brushes they just comb off the hair when the animals are shedding? But that doesn’t mean it won’t involve use of force. Just read that farmed minks in Denmark will get Covid vaccine, but not before 17 million of them would be slaughtered because they also got the virus and are passing it back to humans.
The hair is byproduct from other industries, for example in Russia they treat squirrels as rodents and exterminate them. Goat hair is byproduct from food industry.
Makeup brushes are commonly made from squirrel, mink, sable, horse (sometimes called “pony” or “camel”), or goat hair. Mink and sable brushes are products of the cruel fur industry. Every year, millions of animals are trapped, drowned, and beaten to death in the wild and strangled, electrocuted, or beaten and skinned alive on fur farms. Can anyone explain why you shouldn't use cream or liquid with dyed goat and squirrel hair? I thought you could use cream and liquid with undyed goat hair but didn't know why on the dyed goat hair. And why you can't with squirrel hair?
Goat hair by itself is fine for creams and liquids because their shape holds and they can take the constant washing. I’ve had goat hair paint brushes for 40 years and they have held up to oil paint and turpentine. The dye would only be an issue of fading with all the washing. Squirrel hair though is just too delicate for washing daily and it doesn’t hold it’s shape when soaked in product unless it’s a thin eyeliner brush.

I wish the brushes had been washed before you presented them, since brushes change so much once washed. This isn’t a good representation of the brushes 😢
I have Sonia G and while my Wayne Goss (which were given to me) have moved to the left, most of my other brushes I switch around mainly because certain brushes I use for certain jobs such as setting and finishing. I wash mine around once every six weeks, as i use the same brush for the same job - such as my bronzing brushes are only ever used for that particular product.
I’m not an expert, it’s just an opinion, but I don’t understand/approve/support “store brands” that are more expensive than brand names. I came to the site either looking for a particular brand they carry or trusting their selection process to bring the best brands in class. But if now they have a separate interest in selling me their own expensive products, I feel like they are trying to benefit from me being there for those other brands who spent time and money in promoting themselves and building their name and recognition.
I’m sorry but all I can visualize is animal cruelty. When are companies and consumers going to stop buying products with real fur/hair. Poor little squirrels. I love your channel Michelle but I’m a true animal lover. All animals.
I’m a huge animal lover myself. They being said I won’t use anything but natural hair brushes. Combing an animal for its hair isn’t what I consider cruel. No animals are killed to make these.

Omg too pricey for me. I can’t pay that much for brushes
❤️❤️
I wish the brushes had been washed before you presented them, since brushes change so much once washed. This isn’t a good representation of the brushes 😢
Would you recommend the Sonia G or these? I need face brushes. Thanks.
Suffice to say I cherry pick brushes too so I have a few from different brands as no one brand imo has it all
I’m not an expert, it’s just an opinion, but I don’t understand/approve/support “store brands” that are more expensive than brand names. I came to the site either looking for a particular brand they carry or trusting their selection process to bring the best brands in class. But if now they have a separate interest in selling me their own expensive products, I feel like they are trying to benefit from me being there for those other brands who spent time and money in promoting themselves and building their name and recognition.
@@jkulikova thank you. I’ll shop around. 😀
