I know that you made this video about a year ago. I just wanted to let you know that I think you are very refreshing to watch. Your plants look absolutely beautiful! I agree, people can do what works for them, to me they need to stay in their own lane and what works for them works for them and what works for you, works for you. Please keep doing what you’re doing I loved watching you because you were not focused solely about yourself but the plants.❤️👍🌿
I have 1/4 of my collection in no drainage due to your influence. They are thriving. I moved both of my albos to no drainage (one in leca, the other in pon) and they are putting out new leaves. The root systems have exploded. It’s also been fun shopping for pretty glass vessels at the thrift store.
Your make-up is beautiful, Pudge is stunning as always. Your plants are incredible. No drainage rocks. I'm so happy I found your channel because I'm so sick of always hearing that every plant needs to have drainage. And it's nice to hear you talk about a common plant since you have such a large collection of very uncommon ones
Thank you for all of your experiences with each plant. I have a Tortum that is not thriving, but I am going to try a warmer environment for him😊 thanks for the suggestions.
The tortum that I bought isn't thriving either 🥲 after the stress it got from being shipped on a hot day, it broke off a lot of leaves, and the new leaves that grew from the auxiliary buds are so stunted they resemble a juvenile phil. narrow. It's since been outside and even just earlier I decided to take it out of its no drainage vessel and potted it into some outdoor pot with outdoor soil hoping that it starts getting vigorous from the change of conditions. Meanwhile I'm also scouting for another tortum
Charmaine after a long arduous day at work what a joy to watch your video. Those philodendrons sp Columbias of yours are magazine worthy. Hope you have a great weekend.💚
So Far So G💚💚D With MY PHIL💚S!!! The Rojo Congo Set It Off... SO I Got An Imperial... 2 Painted Ladies... 2 Campos... A Jungle Boogie (HE Broke Out With The Measles)... 4 Smaller PHIL💚S Which Include The Giganteum!!! Recently... I Purchased A Subhastatum AND Have A Tahiti/Mayoi Being Delivered TODAY!!! EASY IS G💚💚D!!!
I cut my verrucosum for the first time about 2 months ago ( I've only had it for 4 months) and I had the same experience that you had with the second majestic you showed where the first leaf that came out of the bottom auxiliary bud HUGE! It was actually a good bit larger than the first leaf to come out of the top cut, which I had air layered!🤷
I will never understand why people have an issue with your plants being in no drainage lol. I have some plants in no drainage as well, doing great 🙂 pudge is such a sweet sweet boy 🥺
YES!!! Just finished filming (I did it guys!! I actually sat down and filmed something!!! Again, thank you for motivating me to do that!!!) and now I need something to relax to because that was hella exhausting haha!! (Imma edit this comment after I finished watching :D )
Hi, hope you're doing well :-) I tried the no drainage thing for my syngoniums as they seemed to root all the time but wouldn't grow and it works like magic! yayyyy :D :-)
Hello, your plants are beautiful!! What is the clear plastic you use for the lazy poles? I've been making poles and the only thing I've found is the Dollar Tree plastic cutting boards, lol, but they're not quite clear and makes it harder to see into the roots. Although it works, it's just not a nice clear plastic. Some options would be appreciated!! Thank you!
Clear glass vessels are used to see how much water is there and how your roots are doing. This is absolutely a excellent way to keep your plants. Even if the vessel isn’t clear this is totally acceptable. I have a few in decorative pots with no drainage holes and they are doing just as well if not better than my plants that are in pots with drainage hole. I just don’t over water them. Drainage holes are great for the over waterer that doesn’t have clear pots. If you are an over watering plant parent then pots with no drainage holes might not be right for you. As for everything to each their own. No need to tell someone what they should or shouldn’t do. It’s not out of our pockets and her plants are doing excellent! So don’t get your panties in a bunch! Lmao
Great video😍 love your collection and watching your plants grow! Just curious what your discount code is for the mothers light? I’m thinking of getting another one like you have
Hola!! Thank you for sharing!!! I had a question for you, how do you know which plants are heavy feeders? I’ve read it has to do with how fast the growth is and light intensity but how do you know that one specimen of philodendron needs more than another for example? Thank you!!!!!
Want to know the answer to this as well. So far from trial and error and advice I got, Plowmanii silver and philo Serpens are heavy feeders or require high nitrogen. But my philo sp Colombia Hated the Osmocote slow release and got lots of yellow spots as a result.
Love your video as always. You're valuable lessons and information ha e helped me so much. How much do you dilute the cal mag? I'm new to it and afraid to use it. And you spray it on just the poles and foliage right? Thank you@
Would you recommend using punice if one does not have access to leca or pon? After seeing your philos doing extremely well, i would like to transition mine to no drainage! Tips on a Verrocusum living in no drainage? Love love LOVE your channel Charmaine ❤-❤
Hey Charmaine I got a quick question (if you ever see that comment lmao) do you have a video where you make your lazy poles and explain when, or better at which stage of plant growth, you decide to use a pole? I am still quite unsure when's the best time to use a moss pole on my philos and monsteras but since they're still growing well, it must be OK I guess?
Hi!! You can find the most recent version of the lazy pole in this video: ua-cam.com/video/LsoHm7ZDMUI/v-deo.html And then I shortly feature a newer designed strap in this video: ua-cam.com/video/H0liOD8T8hs/v-deo.html To answer your question, it's honestly never too early to get any climbing plant on a pole. You'll notice more significant size growth once it has attached to a pole, as it also encourages more aerial roots to grow. So the earlier the better! But for me personally, I usually wait until the plant has grown enough that it has a nice stem I can work with. I don't really bother with really juvenile plants (mostly because I'm lazy haha).
Thanks to both of you for your answers :D I guess it's time for my Melanochrysum to get poled, very looking forward to see that one size up 🌿 And yeah I can get that with juvenile plants, they do take some time to get bigger and it's really rewarding once they've grown but damn that needs patience I sometimes don't have lol
Grocery list/meal prep day, so I play random videos created by my favorite people! I haven't seen this video yet, but I freakin love you, lol. "I just cock-blocked!" Sounds like something I would say 😆
When you use predatory mites do you need a sachet for each plant or each shelf or each unit. I would love to get some and I would have loved to see them eating the spider mites. Also do they eat the broad mites and red mites
@unplantparenthood I can not root my V. Florida beauty for the life of me and it’s been in water for months. I’ve been looking for your video you just talked about rooting it but can’t find it…😩
Always always get a aerial root when it comes too cuttings. Or else is takes foreverrrr. Lol something will vitamins (super thrive, liquidirt) to help with the encouragement of growth. Also, root hormone can be beneficial too.
@@flowergirllove21 girl I’ve tried all that. I’ve got rooting hormone, super thrive, exposed the node and slightly scrapped the aerial and nothing. I’ve been collecting rares for 5 years and goodness grief this one is being the most.
In my uneducated opinion I want to say this is false. Only because plants that are hemiepiphytic (which is basically anything that climbs) receives most of its nutrients through the aerial roots that are attached to the trees in the wild. I've seen many photos of mature specimens in the wild where the entire plant isn't even attached to the terrestrial roots anymore and are purely getting their nutrients and water via the aerial roots!
@@unplantparenthood makes sense for epiphytes for sure(orchids included)as they are structured to received their nutrients solely from aerial root system and some foliar. I dont don't *some* amount of nutrients are are absorbed and if it works for your aroids that's great!
Always tap! And then filtered or rain water for my carnivorous plants. But I test my water every other month with those test strips just to make sure nothing has changed!
@@unplantparenthood it’s in a chunky soil mix under a grow light. I don’t have humidifiers in my apartment. It’s also in a clear plastic pot with drainage
@@Ksnamaste I heard philos like to dry out (certain ones can fully dry out but don’t wait too long before watering). If you have moisture metre, Kaylee Ellen advised watering when it is a 3 or 2. Or when too few inches of soil is dry. I know it can be tricky - perhaps your plant is finickier than others.

I'm glad you're enjoying the videos Regina! 🥰
Hi Charmaine! Love your rested look and your cool shirt! Beautiful 🍀
I grow a lot of plants in pots with no drainage. You just learn how much water the plants need and water according. Have a great weekend.
Great plants, wow🤩
Best plant channel name I've seen so far. 😆👍
I absolutely love the heart leaf philodendron ❤️all it does is look beautiful 😍 very easy to keep happy
I totally agree!! Such a fuss free plant that grows so robustly with neglect 💖
No drainage planting is easier than expected! My thaumatophyllum spruceanum loves it so much I need to repot it again after only 2 months 😅
So many beautiful plants

I really want an Sp silver angel as well! It’s so pretty. There is also I silver lynamii that looks really cool too.
Love the glorious! I got a cutting last year and I was surprised by the size of the new leaves.
Right?! It's such an easy-going hybrid!
LMFAOOO not you interrupting the predatory mite sexy time 🤣🤣🤣

Do you make those lazy poles? Or do you order them and do you have a video of it(if you make them)?

I’m picking up my Columbia on Friday. What’s the difference if it’s not a SP?
Did you have a video on the materials for the pole?
Hi!!! May I ask….Where do you get those big clear pots that you have the glorious in? I only see smaller ones.
Have you had any problems with the stem rotting on the pole? I have one that's turning yellow and now I'm really worried

could you add your scraper or something similar ( for rot) to your amazon list

theres the sp silver and columbia but they are diff
I actually showed the sp silver vs colombia in week of plant to-do's from a few weeks ago when my friends and I imported :)

Does systemic in the substrate kill off beneficial mites?
Because systemic basically cures everything but mites so it would be nice to be able to use that and beneficial insects if possible
