Robotime DIY House Sam's Study - A Walkthrough

- In this former video : • DIY Miniature Dollhous... , I have shown you the result of my 'hacked' DIY House from Robotime called 'Sam's Study'.
Today, I have uploaded for you the complete walkthrough of how this miniature dollhouse kit was made.
As you can read in this blog post of mine as well: everythingvery... , I didn't encounter any problems or issues with the making of Sam's Study, but I did get a little frustrated with these :
- The chair: the red fabric seems impossible to use in a good way on the pieces of wood. When you finally finish it, there is glue all over the place, not a pretty sight to see!
So, as most people seem to do, I covered it with another piece of fabric, that stretches out. Luckily I still got an old jersey-stretchy T-shirt that I was going to throw away anyway, hence the result: I got a blue chair instead of an ugly red one that they provide in the kit!
- The lamp: Now, fixing the lamp was a matter of a LOT of patience, my gosh! The times that the very thin pieces of wire got cut off were endless. So, in the end, I just had to buy new wires online, just to be able to fix it all.
Result: hours and hours of frustration, but now 3 of the 4 LED lamps are working, ha! (the 4th one broke damn).

Thank you for posting this! I have bought as a gift for Christmas - is everything included (bar tools) or do I need to buy wood paints & glue to go with this?

In mine, lots of tools were included, but it seems like in the US, this is not always the case.

May I ask what type of glue you are using? My girlfriend bought this kit, but I have experience to build plastic military model only.

Did you glue the books to the shelves?
Yes, thats easier without them falling out all the time

Hi, those are so small that I actually just glued them together on sight. But I have seen people using a magnetic gluing jig, as described here : everythingverysmall.com/making-a-diy-miniature-house-a-toplist-of-handy-craft-materials-to-help-you-out/
How do you find the right pieces? The bag labels do not correspond to the instructions :-(

@@everythingverysmall I can not find anything other then how to install and leave switch down. How do you turn the light on and off after you put the floor in 🙃
@@michelleauckram4020 just turn on the switch dear 😉. Their should be one where the battery is installed.
Ik zou ook graag willen weten hoe je het licht aan / uitschakelt als de bodem er ingelijmd zit.
@@nettieadmiraal9438 je kan gewoon aan de lichtschakelaar aan hoor eens de kit compleet is; deze wordt niet vastgelijmd ;-). Maar zit in een soort van compartimentje onder de vloer.
🏍️ I stumbled upon the right way to do the drawer handles. 🗄️ The Chinese instructions specialize in brevity (not spelling).
With a slight enlargement of the holes, the handles can pierce through and can be glued from the other side, evening them with a finger. That way they're not a foot' n a half from the drawer, which we all know isn't real.

In the first step for the wire that becomes the cabinet handle - did you have to cut that from the longer wire? I only have 3 long wires that came with my set about 10 cm long. No short ones!
Hi Kacie. Yes indeed, you need to cut those pieces from the long ones. Don't worry, normally you have plenty for the rest of the kit.
