  • This video is about installing the overhead lighting in Sam's Study. It should be a simple task. However, it was not easy simple because I had to construct the tiny lights and wire them into the light fixtures. This is why I like 1/12 scale. So watch me struggle to complete this project.

Very nice. Tiny wires make me nervous, but it adds a lot to the little room.

I procrastinate on the lighting as well! Everything looks great❤️ Thanks for sharing

Thank you and I completely agree this task is tedious and difficult! I so far have the separate lights done. I'm not making them into a lamp but am instead hanging the lights through my miniature Japanese lantern. I still haven't figured out the part where you put the lights together and connect to the long wires, but watching your video several times definitely helped!

Thank you from Australia - I’m currently struggling with wrapping the wires around the LED lights - I’ll try tweezers. Sam’s Study I loved except for the lights 😂.

Thank you for this, I am halfway through installing the lights (had to strip back at one stage to get the lights working again and use tape instead of the shrink plastic!). I too can only now get 3 lights working (but 3 out of 4 ain’t bad!). I’m just about to attach it to the ceiling so wish me luck!

I’ve lost or can’t find the 2 bronze strips 😬

🏍️ I guess if misery loves company i loved this video. Thought i would learn from a master but you struggled exactly as i did.
Mine failed AFTER testing and gluing the 3 lights. The wires are brittle and break during twisting. The tubing is too small, so i replaced both. I did consider electrical tape.
I think it's the hardest of all the lamps by Rolife.💡

Thanks for the video. I'm about 90% done the kit, except I've been struggling with the lighting waaay more than you did! I'm going to have to buy more of the wire and heat-shrink tubes, as I've had to redo them so many times. Do you know what gauge both the wires and the heat-shrink tubes are approximately? I couldn't find the information on line.

Question - could larger gauge wire be used to make it easier? Or any tips on making it easier would be appreciated 😊

A company that makes them is Kable Kontrol. You can find them on Amazon. I found them on line at Home Depot . I tried one of those plastic coffee stirrer and it seemed to work. I only had a red one ,but it secured the wires. Check on electronic sites.

Dear Sam, could you tell me where I can buy this light fitting? Is it in kit form? I live in Melbourne, Australia and I would love to buy one of these lights, if the company that makes it delivers to Australia. Thank you for this great video tutorial. Cheers from Amanda Jones
