      Thank you Natasha! A lot of people don’t realize the negative effects that the sun and the Water from pools can have on your hair. I hope that this video was helpful and you learned something new 🤗

    I've loved Aveda products for the past 20 years give or take... and I've NEVER heard of the Protective Hair Veil! I'm so excited! My scalp burns every single year, and I hate it. I'm one of those ppl who sprays sunscreen on their head. :( But not anymore. Thanks Mell!

    Hi Mell, how do you keep your curls when you are training/ working out a lot? I do Capoeira training 4 or 5 times a week. Lots of sweating, lots of humidity in the classroom, and lots of moving around standing up, and on the floor. I have fine, curly hair. So, there’s frizz from sweating/ humidity, and my curls get pulled, and less tight from tying it back/ putting a headband on so my hair doesn’t get in my eyes. In this situation, what’s the best way to care for your curls, without washing, and doing the curly girl rituals everyday? I want to keep my nice curls for a few days, for work, without washing so frequently.

    I am in the pool everyday for water aerobics & swim training (1 mile a day). I wet my hair with fresh water and spray with a leave in conditioner. Thank you for this video because now I know I need sunscreen for my hair. And just to clarify....I can still only wash like 2 times a week? HOWEVER, I will co-wash everyday. Do I have that right? Thank goodness I found you!!

    Mell, in my advancing years and the appearance of all the greys - I've noticed that the grey hairs are more pronounced in areas that were more exposed to the sun. I have a funny feeling that uv damage might also cause grey hair. I know about sunburnt scalp. Female suffering from male pattern baldness thanks to menopause. Burnt my head two weeks ago. Hair is so thin already can't afford to lose more. I was looking for a video like this and couldn't find it. Anyway I found calpyso hair and scalp suncreen (provides uv damage it says). Smells just like regular sunscreen but just sprayed it over the hair, sprayed some on my hand and rubbed it into my scalp and it was great. No greasiness or anything. I'd love to know your opinion on it if you're familiar with the product. Great video as always. Thanks a million.

      Try massaging olive oil on your scalp. It's scientifically proven to block DHT a form of testosterone that causes male pattern baldness. Mixing peppermint and rosemary will help increase bloodflow. Also ask your doctor about drinking spearmint tea (blocks testosterone) and fenugreek tea(estrogen). I use them to balance my hormones from PCOS

    Hi ! Thanks for your videos. When twisting with a curl cream, do you then follow up with a gel? Can you show us how?

    • @ManesByMell
      @ManesByMell  6 років тому +1

      Hi! Thanks for watching my videos ☺️ I often do follow up with a gel, but it also depends what curl cream I'm using. Some products do both for me. I'll make a video how I do that 👍🏻

    hello! love your videos!! can you post a video on the products you use. You mentioned you use the aveda curl enhancer and the its my beeswax products. I currently use diva supercream and I am not a fan right now! not sure which products would be best

    • @ManesByMell
      @ManesByMell  6 років тому +2

      Hey Tanya!! Thanks for commenting! Both products I've mentioned are absolutely great as a stand alone, or to combine with other products. The hold is stronger in the its my beeswax hair cream because of the beeswax so if you have a looser or softer curl it'll provide great hold for the curls! The curl enhancer leaves your hair touchably so soft without any residue and helps to enhance the bounce of your curls more. I hope that helps!!

      I have looser ringlets so I might try the beeswax! Thanks so much!😍 ps- I’ll be booking an appointment with you soon! 😊

    my entire head of hair is almost virgin hair, except for my longer pieces, which grow from the crown, and because i never got proper layers, these pieces are 60% not virgin, rough, dry and undamaged hair with super low porosity. It's annoying as hell, The hair that grows from the lower parts of my scalp are super soft, 100% virgin curls, that are so healthy, to a point that making them frizzy is impossible, but those goodies are hidden under a hay hat made by my top pieces
