I was not entertaining the Kennedy leaving rumors one bit until hearing that they were waiting for Indy 5 to drop. Love her or hate her I think fans just hear what they want where she is concerned. Since Last Jedi every 2 weeks people have predicted the demise of Kennedy while trying to negate her wins and influence. I was in agreement that Iger returning would actually shield her more but if they are waiting for Indy and don’t want to start production on films until she is gone it kind of tracks because Indy 5 has been pushed so many times and we’ve had no movement on films.
Great show as always. The season one finale was really good. Luthien was able to acquire what he wanted back in episode 3: Cassian himself as the rebel he needs. 2024-25 will be great for TV with season two of Andor and HotD on the way. Happy Thanksgiving to the Sith Council crew. .
What Andor does so well that The Last Jedi doesn't is that it is something different but it is not a meta exercise and understands Star Wars. This show understands Star Wars so well because it explores the act of rebellion and how dictatorships and oppression become these big evil. Best stuff I've seen since the OG trilogy!
Because Andor was so good about the way it used fan service through out the season the post credit scene worked as a great cherry on top. When that stuff is judicially doled out it works so much better! In season 2 I think we are going to see Mon Mothma actually cling to a different older religious tradition in the Force! At some point between now and when she leaves and declares for the Rebellion as an organization she comes to at least respect the Force enough to start saying “May the Force be with you.” In Rogue One. Also a character I think we could get introduced to in season 2 is General Jan Dodanna?
Looking forward to rewatch Mando but Andor is my favourite Disney Star Wars production so far. I could imagine Solo 2 being a 8 - 12 episode TV show. I feel like it could work with interweaving plots around Solo and the Hutt piece and Qi-ra and the Black Sun stuff and I would like to see more of Enfys Nest and other little pockets of resistance. And now for something completely different… IF you remade the prequels now, who would you get to direct? Keeping the plot and story close to as is. I mean I don’t really know how you could recast it now but just a hypothetical
As far as the Anton Kreiger raid not being shown- when we last saw the ISB, they were still counting the bodies. I suspect that someone, possibly Anton himself, will have escaped the trap, and we may see the raid retold from the point of view of that character when they are introduced in season two. And if they find out they were set up to take the fall…

No idea what Mike is talking about with the fan service thing. People have asked for years how the hell did they build the Death Star and now we have some sort of answer.. I thought it was a great touch. I have absolutely loved the show but S2 definitely needs to have a few more hints to Star Wars in there, which I think it will. A tiny bit of fan service (not too much) would go a long way towards making this a classic.
Hey, 1st off thanks for the time to review and share...Secondly, I know Star Wars is a big plate collective of fans but as a 10 yr old sitting there in May of 77' and everything since, it's a hard to hear the analytical "my preference" perfectionist....Andor, Solo and Rogue One are all the things in live action my generation of star wars have hoped for...Those comics and books were not available nationally in many communities...Andor and Rogue have moved to my Top 5 of all Star Wars content with Empire and NH...Thanks
I’ll be honest when I first heard this show was coming out I knew I was going to watch it as a Star Wars fan but I didn’t have that excitement in me to watch it that I had for Obi-Wan Kenobi or the Mandalorian. This show blew me away when they first dropped those first three episodes and I can honestly say that not only is this my favorite live-action Star Wars series of all time, it’s also my favorite Disney+ series of all time so far. If you include the animated series of the clone wars in Star Wars rebels, those two are probably a tie for my favorite Star Wars series but if you’re talking live action Andor is by far my favorite. I honestly thought it would be a series that I would watch and kind of enjoy and when it was over it would just be out of sight out of mind. I never would’ve dreamed that I would’ve thought it was better written and just done better all the way around than even the Mandalorian. And that’s not a knock towards the Mandalorian, that’s a great show that I love but when you talk about critiquing a show and grading it on things like the writing, the dialogue, the acting , The suspense…. this is the best live action Disney+ series in my mind.
Listen, I absolutely LOVE this show. It's my favorite Star Wars anything. I'm just a little confused about Cassian asking to be killed or turned in. Why fight just to surrender? He promised he'd find Bix and his other friends. Wouldn't he be more motivated than ever to fight the Empire? I didn't understand this one particular beat, but I love where they left it with Luthen smiling at him, seemingly reconsiding.
I think he gave Luthen the choice to kill him or BRING him in, i.e. bring him into the rebellion. After the way Luthen had tried to recruit him previously, I honestly think Andor knew what his answer would be
Just purchased Lady and Lordships for everyone in my family. Awesome/unique gifts without breaking the bank. Thank you for the discount and bringing to my attention. Happy Thanksgiving 😎
loved cassian since I saw rogue one on opening night, was excited for the show since it was announced, was SURE it was gonna be great. and I'm feeling so happy because it really did what it needed to do and more, and also I'm feeling vindicated lol
Really amazing show and I can appreciate the finale, but agree with Mike that I kept waiting for something to happen (particularly involving our main characters) and the episode left me feeling a little unsatisfied / felt more like setup for next season. Makes sense for them to tie into the Death Star, but really hoping that is not a main focus of next season
Loved the finale. It was so awesome to see Casdians mom rally the Rebellion. Made me want to join the Rebellion. Very Star Wars and very moving scene even with bricks and screws lol. Don't get how people hate on this series. So good.
Regarding Mike (I'm in a mood 😉) Kalinowskis comment about the end credit scene, it seems to me that Mike and others who have complained about that scene are forgetting, the Death Star was NOT built to protect The Empire from Luke or any other Jedi, it was built to protect the Empire from Andor, Luthen, Mon Mothma, Saw and all other rebels or planets housing them....
Mike has some very valid points (the mothma stuff in particular) and I do find it to be a bit messier than some of the other episodes. Emotionally however, it hit me hard and I loved how it pays off Andor's development from reticent to rebel. I think Andor having to kill Val or Cinta to survive or something along those lines would have been much more narratively interesting
I actually think we could get a nod to how they met in comics while recontextualizing things? Same with Mothmas public defection to the Rebellion. She makes her speech on a ship with the cast of Rebels BUT we could see Cassian watching her speech from somewhere else in the 2nd season. I think Gilroy has been good about sticking to canon and only bending or not contradicting things that are canon like Cassians birth parents, they very well could have been Separatists OR that moniker could apply to his adopted parents Marva and Clem?
Andor wasn't rushed. They just left enough unsaid, so that we didn't have to be told what decisions were made to make those decisions. We know her driver is an ISB spy, we know she's worried about her accounts, we know she feels betrayed by both her husband, so she sets him up by making up a tale about him gambling in the capital, which he is not. It also explains where the 400,000 credits are coming from, when the Banker makes the transfer. We also always knew she was going to make the introduction with her daughter, because there was no other way out. It was either that, or the rebellion ends in it's tracks. Also- star wars should be linked. It doesn't have to have characters from alternate Star Wars franchises, but it has to fit in a time and a place in star wars. It has to connect. The Mandalorian fits in-between The fall of the empire and the sequel trilogy, this makes it Star Wars. The sequel trilogy believed you could make three independent movies that had nothing to do with each other, call it star wars, and expect audiences to respond favorably. Cyril is necessary in Andor because he is Andor's nemesis. He will now take over as the Supervisors assistant, and he will be the one to pinpoint Luthan. He specifically stated 'I didn't see him, but I would recognize his voice' and now he will get that chance. Erso will have to make an appearance, because they specifically search out for his daughter at the imperial scrap heap. She was chosen because of it. The deathstar is relevant, because Cassian will inform Luthan about the items they had been making, they will track where those shipments are going, and it will lead them to the Deathstar. This will trigger a search for weaknesses.
Really liked Brett reading us the comic stuff about how Andor met K2SO. It was very good. Maybe he could have a section where he informs us about comic or book content / information about these kind of Star Wars things? And Happy Thanksgiving.
Just when I think I've finally figured out what type of Star Wars fan Mike is what he wants to see in a Star Wars show, he completely throws a curveball when he talks about what he didn't like lol
I wonder if for season 2 , since we have big time jumps in between arcs, maybe they wont even try to tell the specific story of how Cassian and K2 meet, as described by Brett. Maybe they'll just jump time and make a reference to it. Like how we didnt see the ambush on Kryger, and as long as they make that make sense for the story they are telling, we'll be ok with it. At peast I will, as long as it is done in a similar way that makes me care more about the story they *are* telling
Yeah i was very slightly underwhelmed by the last episode, everything came together greatly and it was a great episode but just nothing really blew me away like it did in previous episodes
I agree a lot with Mike about not putting the Trope-ish Star Wars things in the show. This show should feel like we're a part of a rebellion uprising. It won't feel like that if we start seeing C3PO-like droids and hearing "May the force be with you." - That would suck me straight out of the immersion I get from watching Andor. I have a major dislike for Mando Season 2, because Ahsoka and Luke became these background characters that just sort of stood around. Really hated that. Mando should have stuck with JUST being Mandalorian and Grogu, it sucked me out of the western vibe I got from Season 1 and it turned into a what feels like a fanmade show.
Didn't mind the undercover guy arresting the snitch because the ISB figured they were gonna be successful in their mission that day to catch Cass so being undercover at that point was kinda meaningless
Serious question, happy you are a fan but do you think that Solo 2 is a movie that is going to bring people back to the theater and give Star Wars that jolt of energy that it needs? I mean if it was a Disney Plus movie, sure, why not.
@@TheKristianHarloff It would all depend on the execution and it might possibly be less of a gamble in theatres than a movie with all new characters. It’s not likely to happen I realise that. I would accept a Disney plus movie.
I hope to see Krennic and see Galen build up to sending that message to Saw. That’s something I think we missed dearly from Rogue One. Let Mads go off with this level of writing
Great show, great episode, can't wait until season two, I'm hoping the fan ideas of Luthan having some kind of jedi connection are correct, would add a cool twist to the story, love that character regardless, what a great job by the actor, that speech he gave in the previous episode is freaking all-time epic level stuff. The marva speech was spot on as well. Great writing, what a difference from a show like boba fett.
I feel like mike just doesn’t want this to be related to Star Wars at all! Haha. He’s like I hated seeing the Death Star! Anyway I loved this first season. 🎉
great show as always, hope yall had an awesome holiday! not sure what to take of the Jeff Schneider "news"? so, he is saying they FINALLY have a road map?? thats awesome if so. I hope so. But, of course they are going to be "ramping up movies" in the next several years. lol. but there is no chance there is one by 2024, so its still like 6-7 years in between films. So its like, "Breaking News....Star Wars will be making movies again, .....sometime" lol I sure hope they are going to finally have a road map. But honestly, if it is still Kathleen in place, i dont trust anything they say. Last tiny little road map/plan they fed us a few years back, most of the projects aren't seeing the light of day. Once Kathleen is out (hopefully this summer), have her replacement pitch the ramped up road map!
Honestly, I disagree with Mike here. If this was Mandalorian, we'd know 100% that they would be making a new thing out of the Cassian-K2SO meeting. Filoni doesn't care about the comics or the books at all. Gilroy, though, has been the most collaborative person with the story group since Rian Johnson. It ain't a coincidence that Pablo Hidalgo can't stop raving about the show, and it's not just because it's good. Gilroy has mentioned Hidalgo a bunch of times in interviews. I'm not saying that he will recreate that comic run in the show (and another interesting question is whether he should or not), but I think it's likely that Gilroy and Hidalgo had conversations about it
When it comes to Solo I wouldn’t do a sequel BUT I would love a series about the Crimson Dawn and Emilia Clarke’s character and Maul (with Ray Parks doing the physical performance and Witwer dubbing him of course) and seeing what happens to the Crimson Dawn and their characters and I’m assuming ending with putting Maul on his path that he ends up in Rebels
49:03 = Very true. Rogue One is the best of a very average batch of movies, so not exactly a high bar. What a freakin' MESS those 3 main sequel movies were, particularly The Rise of Shitetalker.
There's no way that Tony Gilroy and lucasfilm are going to let Cannon be completely destroyed. I have a feeling that the meeting between k2so is probably going to be pretty close to what was in the comic
Two reasons. As far as schedule goes, it shifts when a Star Wars show is on. Because I put my spoiler review in the mornings, I don't want them to eat at each other, so I wait until 4PM PST or so to air them. Now that Andor is over, will go back to 9AM PST until The Mandalorian returns. As far as premiere: for some reason UA-cam punishes you for doing those. When I do them, I lose tons of viewers and it is not promoted by the algo. It isn't worth the hit that the show takes.
Gilroy will not be taking any cues from the comics. So were back to a place where the novels, comics, and games constitute the Extended Universe. No big deal, but I think Lucasfilm needs to acknowledge it at this point. Could someone explain to me again the function of the Story Group? Anyway, I'll keep reading the High Republic novels, mainly because of talented contributors like Claudia Gray & Justina Ireland, but it doesn't seem as urgent now.
Good points about stormtroopers, and Andor not being in trouble this episode. The first scene in ANH show the stormtroopers completely mowing down rebels. The more Andor escapes tight situations the less believable it is. He's human, not a Jedi.
Man I tell you to stars of this show mon and luthen. Mon is just as bad as luthen in my opinion. She not only put the blame on her husband for the 400K but then doubles down by setting up her daughter with this betroval. As luthen sacrifices 30 men at basically the same time. I see no difference nthosnalso wherw i recognise this as the moment Mon becomes the rebel leader with her willingness to sacrifice her family. Also the line in from temek try means no jedi in this show at only regular people. Great show as always
great point Steph, on DC executing their movies/plan better than Star Wars. Its embarrassing! if they keep Kennedy on at Lucasfilm past this summer, it is a gigantic mistake. stop the bleeding, and put the replacement in place. Just way way too many mistakes under her at helm. Sure, fantastic producer, talent...blah blah blah. she is the worst person/suit to be running Lucasflim. Displayed too much incompetance. I really do hope they get someone who loves Star Wars, and understands it, is excited about it (and not afraid to put out content)! Should be a no brainer. cut her loose after Indy anyhow, LOVED Andor. such a refreshing series, that is some of the best content on Disney + Yes, many of us do want another Solo project (i personally would love a Crimson Dawn series), and still really hoping for more Don Glover Lando!
Happy Thanksgiving! While Andor & Rogue One are the BEST of Disney Star Wars, SOLO wasn’t the worst… I’d welcome a SOLO2 series or films. There’s a lot of ground that could be covered before we see Han in the Cantina and Lando at Cloud City. The film’s introduction of Maul and the gangster underworld could touch on not only Jabba’s origins but also tie into content from Shadows of the Empire and even Force Unleashed. There’s also no reason why they can’t also do a flashback about SOLO’s time with the Empire that was glossed over. If done right, it can make prior works better. If done wrong, then it will be another Book of Why Did They Do Fett Dirty…
I loved that end credit scene, so the empire used slave labour to build parts for the death star, clever set up to show how they are getting rid of the witnesses but also something that Andor or one of the escaped prisoners could follow and find this planet killer eventually!
Andor was a really good show and I think it’s the best written one by far. With Kathleen Kennedy possibly being done, I won’t believe it till I see it.
No offense to campea, and I think he would be the first to admit this, but I would take a sneider source over a campea one. I too think they will ignore the comic k2so origin which kinda sucks. Overall Andor was fantastic, I think episode 9 might be the best ~hour of star wars that has been put to camera. A lot of my favourite star wars have been deconstructions (or I guess just examining minutae) like for instance the last jedi deconstructs mythology and fate where andor deconstructs fascism and oppression (obviously). There are so many good lines in that manifesto and maava's speech too, and hey they are right there are plenty of things happening in the world we should be waking up earlier for.
“Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear”
This show is incredible
That line made me cry
It really is.
Seriously this is the Star Wars for adults that like great writing
That feels very poignant to me in the times we are in.
The biggest issue I had with the finale is that I realized during it that it’s gonna be ~2 years until the next season!

Maarva's speech got me, I was tearing up a bit, and when the people started to revolt I was screaming with joy, and Love that kick to the Stormtrooper off the tower.
I felt like it was super obvious from the 10th episode, that Mon Mothma was absolutely going to go with the betrothal.
Obviously. Why would they bring it up as an issue if she wasn't going to go that route? Still very powerful and so cool to see Mon sacrifice

Andor is a masterpiece
That funeral music felt like something out of The Shining.
Keen.
Damn! Wish you guys were in studio for this review...but amazing episode!
Mike not wanting star wars to be star wars is funny and infuriating at the same time😂
Hahha
“I’ll know and remember the names when I remember the names!” 🤣 I love Kristian!
@@CorbCorbin I love that about him! lol
Haha
Listen, I absolutely LOVE this show. It's my favorite Star Wars anything. I'm just a little confused about Cassian asking to be killed or turned in. Why fight just to surrender? He promised he'd find Bix and his other friends. Wouldn't he be more motivated than ever to fight the Empire? I didn't understand this one particular beat, but I love where they left it with Luthen smiling at him, seemingly reconsiding.
I think he gave Luthen the choice to kill him or BRING him in, i.e. bring him into the rebellion. After the way Luthen had tried to recruit him previously, I honestly think Andor knew what his answer would be
someone saying Andor was rushed is a first lol
Just purchased Lady and Lordships for everyone in my family. Awesome/unique gifts without breaking the bank. Thank you for the discount and bringing to my attention. Happy Thanksgiving 😎
THANK YOU FRANK!
loved cassian since I saw rogue one on opening night, was excited for the show since it was announced, was SURE it was gonna be great. and I'm feeling so happy because it really did what it needed to do and more, and also I'm feeling vindicated lol
“It’s a religion Steph” needs to be a t-shirt
Mon knew that her driver was listening. She wanted him to hear.
Shout out to Sabraw who is fantastic at articulating her points and giving great analysis of the intricacies of the show.
Going to be interesting to see how K2SO will be introduced next season.
I am with Mike about not needing the films to be like the MCU. Just make a great trilogy about new characters, it isn't that hard.
Facts
Mike has some very valid points (the mothma stuff in particular) and I do find it to be a bit messier than some of the other episodes. Emotionally however, it hit me hard and I loved how it pays off Andor's development from reticent to rebel. I think Andor having to kill Val or Cinta to survive or something along those lines would have been much more narratively interesting
Mon mothma giving up her daughter illustrates the squeezing hand of the beurocracy and the emperor forcing the rebellion to make sacrifices
Great conversation abt the finale.
Thank you
Andor wasn't rushed.
We have two vids like that so far, the Andor vid and the Fabelmans review
Great season. Awesome finale. Steph council team Steez.
Yeah i was very slightly underwhelmed by the last episode, everything came together greatly and it was a great episode but just nothing really blew me away like it did in previous episodes
Rushed?! Nothing about this was rushed. It was executed perfectly. That take makes no sense.
Totally agree with you.
So curious what Season 2 will look like!
Steph had a strong show. Really liked her breakdown…… and
Mike……
I’m sick of seeing the Star Wars symbol😂😂😂
What an incredible season of a show. This is perfectly written and acted but to me I enjoy the adventures of Mando and Grogu just a bit more.
Fair!
Didn't mind the undercover guy arresting the snitch because the ISB figured they were gonna be successful in their mission that day to catch Cass so being undercover at that point was kinda meaningless
I loved the funeral procession music, it really felt like Star Wars can’t explain why.
Also #MakeSolo2happen
That Brett interview was genius 👏
Thank you!
great show as always, hope yall had an awesome holiday!
not sure what to take of the Jeff Schneider "news"? so, he is saying they FINALLY have a road map?? thats awesome if so. I hope so. But, of course they are going to be "ramping up movies" in the next several years. lol. but there is no chance there is one by 2024, so its still like 6-7 years in between films. So its like, "Breaking News....Star Wars will be making movies again, .....sometime" lol
I sure hope they are going to finally have a road map.
How hard is it to be a producer when Steven Spielberg is handing you scripts telling you I'm directing. I want to to produce ?
49:03 = Very true. Rogue One is the best of a very average batch of movies, so not exactly a high bar. What a freakin' MESS those 3 main sequel movies were, particularly The Rise of Shitetalker.
But Rogue gets better each time.
I just realized that Mike actually has a similar voice to Syril
Mike is missing a key line of dialogue that mon said to vel “I have a plan”.
I’m calling it now! Luthen is Obi Wan’s brother and Obi Wan will be in Season 2
Interesting.
There's no way that Tony Gilroy and lucasfilm are going to let Cannon be completely destroyed. I have a feeling that the meeting between k2so is probably going to be pretty close to what was in the comic
Any reason you don't stick 'em on a schedule and then Premier these? Would be kind cool to watch with other homies in the community.
@@TheKristianHarloff Makes sense. Glad we have the live channel now though, scratches that itch. Happy Thanksgiving!
Don't forget...all of the 5 recent Star Wars movies cane out during Bob Iger's tenure. So how much change will truly occur?
True
Man I tell you to stars of this show mon and luthen. Mon is just as bad as luthen in my opinion. She not only put the blame on her husband for the 400K but then doubles down by setting up her daughter with this betroval. As luthen sacrifices 30 men at basically the same time. I see no difference nthosnalso wherw i recognise this as the moment Mon becomes the rebel leader with her willingness to sacrifice her family. Also the line in from temek try means no jedi in this show at only regular people. Great show as always
Yeah, Mothma deserves the scorn from her family. I like her being morally grey, but the sith council crew oddly doesn't mention it much
I don’t think you’ll see Andor meet K2SO. Their meeting will remain offscreen during a time jump!
Nah, they couldn't do that.
great point Steph, on DC executing their movies/plan better than Star Wars.
Should be a no brainer. cut her loose after Indy
anyhow, LOVED Andor. such a refreshing series, that is some of the best content on Disney +
Yes, many of us do want another Solo project (i personally would love a Crimson Dawn series), and still really hoping for more Don Glover Lando!
I’m convinced even Mike doesn’t know what he wants
I loved that end credit scene, so the empire used slave labour to build parts for the death star, clever set up to show how they are getting rid of the witnesses but also something that Andor or one of the escaped prisoners could follow and find this planet killer eventually!
Tony Gilroy writing dialogue for The Emperor in season 2 of Andor, would be fantastic.
Andor was a really good show and I think it’s the best written one by far. With Kathleen Kennedy possibly being done, I won’t believe it till I see it.
I think andor was written like a movie not tv. That’s why it’s great but people find it slow. Imagine it as a movie and I like it more
I hope I live to see season 2. It’s exceptional and I love it. ❤
