D4 Audi a8 2011-17 front air strut removal

First part of replacing a airspring without buying a complete strut assembly. In this first half I remove the strut from the vehicule.
In the next part I will be putting a new air srping on the damper and complete installation.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video. On the D3, removing the brake assembly wasn't required. Is it on the D4 required or preferred?

Same as D3, prefered. I always remove it to do a brake relube "while im in there".

Where did u put the pry bar to get the damper to stop coming back down… that’s my issue

I didnt use a prybar. Look starting at 14:17. I explain how I removed the lower fork bolt to create clearance

and of course, fully deflated bag. Remove residual pressure valve first so it's easier to work with
