my pala showed me this song when i was 8 years old and i’ve loved it since. listening to this masterpiece again today as it’s panchen lama’s 35th birthday tomorrow. our panchen lama was abducted by china when he was only 6 years old, making him the youngest political prisoner in the world. it’s been 29 years since his disappearance…and the world just watches. it‘s a sad day for a sad folk. but we tibetans will never give up. we will remember, resist and return!

Stange to say, quite recently modern genetics says that Japanese DNAs are so similar to Tibetan, not Korean and Chinese. Especially, Japanese languge and culture have long been isolated. And its language is completely different from other language. Tibetan' and Tamils' language is somewhere in history related with Japanese'. DNA may be clues to the question.

Oh nice song. Although I didn't understand it's meaning. I m Indian. As per relating Tibetans to any other, in our India there is famous Indian army unit/regiment which called as Indo-Tibet Army. If were Tibet is not under Chinese control then like Nepal & Bhutan & India has free boundary like we don't need visa to visit either country. It would be easier to visit Tibet.

I came back to your site in about 20 minutes & saw that the number of favourite videos had increased to 68 in just 20 minutes.
People chose favourites after they have listened to the music. It takes at least 2-3 minutes to listen to one song. Thus in 20 minutes, the most that you can listen to is 7-8 songs (assuming 2 minutes per song & the time required to chose the next song).
How come u could favourite nearly 40 songs in just 20 minutes?

I agree to some extent our putting religion and sects before national identity since the assasination of Lang Dharma has contributed to our present plight...but you must give credit to the monks and nuns who led the Tibetan nationalist movemnet in the 1980s and 1990s and still do. Many have paid dearly for their sacrifices.

What is "Guru" in Tibetan Buddhist?
+仲本朴 "Guru" in tibetan buddhist context mean a "spiritual master/teacher". The word "Guru" has it's roots/origin in India, in fact the whole tibetan language - i believe - is derived from "sanskrit" - one of the ancient Indian languages, next to Pali which is even older. To indian the word "Guru" or often Guru-ji ("ji" - a respectable title) can mean both spiritual or academic/worldly "master/teacher".
+T. Palden A common misundertanding, if you'll forgive me. The Tibetan writing system and many words are certainly derived from Sanskrit - the language itself is certainly not. The core vocabulary, and the language itself before the arrival of Padmasambhava and the rest in the 700s is very ancient and entirely unrelated to Sanskrit. Sanskrit is Indo-European (hence very distantly related to English and many others) and Tibetan is Sino-Tibetan (and hence very distantly related to Chinese). It gets more complicated - in fact the tone system of Tibetan developed a bit after the script arrived from India, seemingly under secondary Chinese influence.

@appapo3 - you can search for that info, i read in some science inet page that tibetans looooooong ago went to america (at that time is wasn't america yet lol) & became the first americans (indians later they were called).. really you can see, find some similarities between indians (both-north & south america) & tibetans- motives in national clothes, national haircuts style (tail of hair, feather in it sometimes or collar..), of ourse skin colour, face type & lineament, & so on..
