I have listened to songs in Hindi, English, Russian, Mongolian, Japanese. But nothing is as uplifting as hearing a modern song in my own mother tongue - precious Tibetan. bod rangzen!!
Bonpa10, are you Tibetan? If you are still with Yadong, Kunga, Tashi Nyima and other Tibetan singers, please tell them that Tibetans outside admire their talents, feel grateful for contribution to our music culture, respect them for their national pride and patriotism and love them as our brothers and sisters. Please do thank them for their gift of music, which we can enjoy with pride in foreign lands.
They are national treasures, not just heroes. When we go back to our country, we should award them some sort of Gold Medal for service to our nation. What do you think?
I hear the snow-capped mountains calling all Tibetans, I hear the snow-lions roaring for us to unite. Truth and faith on our side, we will triumph over evil. It is this generation, who'll come over mere differences such as Cholka and chol-look. It is my generation that'll reunite all the provinces, and get our country back! Bhoe-gyallo!
I love the Tibetan people, and this is the music I love it. The Tibetan culture is beautiful, and history is great. I'm Hungarian, but I know, my destiny says go to Tibet. I want to see big mountains.
I sit here with tears in my eyes, longing to return to my motherland. Hearing this song by 4 proud Tibetans, I long for a day when Tibetans can reunite.
To the 4 talented, courageous and handsome singers, Yours is a musically perfect song. An inspiring and a courageous song politically. Perfect score in all aspects!! You display the true spirit of the descendants of the only organization which fought for Tibet 50+ years ago risking their lives!
I love Yadon & Kunga's songs and I've yet to discover who the other two Artistes are. Great voices in all four men. May God Bless them all for the sake of Tibet. Their songs keeps Tibet strong in traditionals.
Beautiful!!!! This song touches me in a profound way. Just came back from Tibet and having withdrawal symptoms. Beautiful, noble people, amazing culture, you can't go there and return untouched.
I jigme always get tears in my eyes when I listen to this song. It has some amazing lyrics: The wandering heart has tripped at the door of destination; Boats that have sunk just when kissed by the shore; Yadong my hero and Kinga Tsewang and Gangshuk too,
Yadon, Wonderful job! You are a great singer. I heard you taught Kunga, Tsewang and Gangshuk. Achievement of the pupil is an indicator of the teacher's greatness. What an achievement!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart

antichinaforever, If you refers the Chamdo battle at 10/7/1950, you can look for Tsering Shakya's book for reference. Tibetan troops were surrounded and gave up very quick. SUPERB! Inspiring and sentimental ! Four awesome Tibetan singers on one platform singing about Tibet. Yes, let us celebrate our heritage and native spirits. Yes, let us pride ourselves to be Gangchenpas !!!
1. Antichinaforever Cho demo? (means how are you?) I am glad you like reading my comments. I too like reading comments and listening to Tibetan music. Considering the environment we live in (having to live a life surrounded by non-Tibetan people), I think certain degree of assimilation is inevitable. What is important is for us to always remember who we are in our heart of hearts. Continued.....
Don't worry, they have never been imprisoned. They are as fine as usual, and this song hasn't created any problems for anyone since it's nothing political.
dear tearsofthesnowlion I understand your sentiment. But let us not fight among ourselves. I would like to believe that there is no Tibetan whose heart does not beat for Tibet. For some it might not be convenient to be overtly pro-Tibet. They might be contributing things for Tibet that no other Tibetans can do. Please remember that you are not alone. We appreciate your efforts. Let us all do the best we can. Love and respect to you TEARSofTHEsnowlion
2. Antichinafoever, Knowing who we are and taking pride in our identity is important not only to keep Tibet alive but also for our own mental health as individuals. When people forget who they are, or when they are ashamed of who they are, there is the risk of developing identity crisis and different types of personality disorders. As you seem happy in your identity as a Tibetan, there is no need to be ashamed of being assimilated. We all are to some degree and it is inevitable.
Hi Jigdo, Thank you for all your postings. Information is a powerful tool and posting lates information is a great contribution. Love and respect to you. I know it is no mean feat to do what you are doing. My love and respect to you.

During Kanding Rebellion, the worst was at Changtreng Sampheling where hundreds of monks and laymen were killed. Even the 1959 Lhasa fighting was in very small scale. You can check Shakya's book for that. If you think the real number is more than Kangchenpa's, you are out of your mind. Most of Tibetan historians don't take that number.
Thank you very much. Can I be friends with you? I know I am almost you mother's age, but the way you have rendered the English translation of the Tibetan lyric speaks of your creativeness and intelligence. I value that highly in any individual, especially in men.
Hi antichinaforever, Ganchenpa is resting a bit. I am sure he will start writing again. It is not only you, we others read his comments too and are thankful to him for spending so much time writing in defense of Tibet.
When I see posts about Khampa, Amdowa, U-tsangwa, it just shows that some of you commentators are clueless about the essence of the lyrics from many of the songs that come out of Tibet. As much as we enjoy the songs, we need to be able to analyze the lyrics and implement them in our daily lives. THINK, my friends, THINK!
Tibetans in TAR and neighbouring provinces would not risk their lives to rise up against the Chinese if they are as happy and satisfied as some of the Chinese on the youtube want us to believe. Instead of posting hate mails here, the Chinese should ask their government to lend a sincere ear to the grievances of the Tibetans. Mutual understanding and respect is the only solution going forth and it is the Chinese government and Chinese people who have the power to bring about that change.
Dhutse, It is likely that your comments will appear as a series of dots on many people's computer. Thus, could you put an English comment below the original comment (I guess it is in Boedyig)as well? Thanks
I think what he is trying to do is to tell everyone that Namkha is in prison for singing Tibetan independence songs. He is not saying that every singer is in prison.
Yes this music lifts my soul heavenwards and gives limitless freedom. Love you Gunga, tsewang, Yadon a Gangshuk. By the power you sway over us mortals, I designate you as modern day gesar, dema, shenma, gyasa etc, the heroes of Ling. My dema, shema, jasa, And if you need a couple of Ling beauties, just let me know. I can fetch them at a stroke
Just a word of caution. We have to be careful what we write here. What our brothers and sisters in Tibet call "Chankyi" might visit these sites. This applies to me also!
One of my friends is in Lhasa now. His email of the March 13th said that there is restriciton of movement in Lhasa. On the 15th he said there was a massive protest on the 14th. Most of the windows of the hotel is shattered. Tourists are confined to their hotel, he doesnst know the extent of the damage. He cant access any news in Japanese or Eng & asked me to update him on the true picture. From the noise and commotion & from what he saw out the hotel window, he fears 4 the worst 4 Tibetans.

the chinese firms are making the music not for preserving Tibetan culture, but for their own profit. Why aren't there Tibetan firms that can make MTV? There aren't because Tibetans are not given the opportunity to learn such skills. Even if they have such skills (which is very unlikely), they don't have the capital to start such a firm. This is the result of China's descriminatory policy towards Tibetan.
All Tibetans adore Kunga and Yadong. Can we play down the regionalism a bit? Regionalism and sectarianisn has reduced all Tibetans to their current plight.

Should be the anthem of Tibet, whether it go independent or not.
+Henry Yeh This is more appropriate as National Anthem of Tibet than the present one which is more like a Buddhist prayer.
