I think the Chinese in general are ignorant about the atrocities committed by the Chinese authorities against Tibetans and about the Tibetan history. My understanding was Tibet and China were once controlled by Mongols and Manchus (foreign occupation). That does not justify China's territorial claims. I sensed a rise of nationalism in China partly because of recent history of humiliation by western countries and japan.
