My late father was a good friend of uncle cheong. As a kid, I had the privilege of visiting this home quite often, playing with his many many pets and watching him share stories about his passions. Uncle cheong also gifted me my first guitar when he caught me looking at it. I thank you for the fond memories and generosity! Best of health and hope your family is well 🙏 - Shaun Low
My dad used to work as a deliveryman in Jalan Chempaka Kuning, and I have helped him in many deliveries during my school holidays. I've seen Uncle Cheong's house before, such as the Spiderman statue etc. and was quite impressed by his collections as a then 16-year-old. To be fair, I saw his house back in 2018-2019, so not many statues were displayed outside of his house at the time. But his house had always stood out to me since the first time I delivered parcels nearby his neighbourhood. I have always wondered who the man behind the house is, and I'm glad I got to find out about him through this video :D
Ppl here got nothing nice to say should just keep it to themselves. Collecting and hoarding got fine line. Uncle wants to enjoy and admire his collection, and find joy in sharing with others, also cannot? Some ppl in comments say he will burden his kids with his items when he pass away? Hello their family their taiji, you not his kid you care so much for what, uncle cannot just enjoy his items now? Or u jealous cos your father not as rich as him
To those who wants to talk and type without thinking, let me tell you the difference. My mum is a hoarder who kept all sort of things without cleaning them or arranging them. No one can convince her to let go of anything. She keeps rubbish. Literally trash like food half eaten, wrapper, unwashed clothes, newspapers etc. While personally I am a collector. I collect miniature perfume bottle, figuring, movies, clothes, shoes, soft toys etc. I am not as rich and old as Uncle nor I have a big house like his. But my collection fill up my 4 room HDB and I am so happy seeing them when I am home. Like what Uncle said, that is life. Life is to pursue things that we like. People unlike us is becos your version of life is different from us. Or sadly to say that you do not even know what you like. I feel blessed like Uncle. And as we get older, we have to live simpler with lesser things. And that's why we are letting go. So that's the difference. Look at your own life first before commenting about other people fulfilling life.
instead of spamming the same paragraph when someone says hoarding... why not look after ur mom more... trash hoarding is a clear sign of severe depression... the fact ur typing all this n not looking after her well being astounds me!
Uncle happy can already lah. As long as you never affect other people negatively then it’s fine, it’s your life. At least he looks at the stuff he boards and not like some old people, board because can’t bear to throw… Slowly downsize for old age (easier to walk around) since he already has the idea. Don’t think he cares much about the value. The parrots are cute.
Dearest Mr Cheong, May all the Powers of Nature and the Cosmic be with you and bless you for your endearing, most beautiful happy and good good SOULl!! I would like to visit you next year! See you in February 2024!!❤

🙄Those birds are very beautiful 🐦🦜. But Keep n collected so many many things in house without tidy n clean, Don make me feel fascinating. 😵What we love n keeps, should also keep it neat, clean n tidy. Or will definitely make house look worse untidy n terrible. Unable to sit n relax to admire those lovely things n those beautiful birds in house🧐🦜🐦. Is a waste 😞🥴 . Hope this uncle can clear away those unwanted items n keep his place clean n neat. Such big n beautiful home 🏡 without knowing how to manage. Is sure a waste.🙏 Blessings to u uncle.
only problem with this uncles house is if the people near him wanna put their home on the market... they prolly have to price their home way down to even get sold...prolly already depreciated and i think that poses a big issue!! i personally wouldnt wanna live nextdoor to a house like that... im pretty sure since its a tourist attraction theres not much peace and quiet but by all means live the way u want uncle! im not complaining but i wanna make aware the things that could happen to others by doing all that...
also i wanna touch on this he a overboard collector not a hoarder... alot of it is decor and someone like me i hoard fishing lures/soft plastics... dont really need them but i still buy cuz i think i need/want it.... and end up not even using it and just collecting dust and space... but he is different when he likes or into something the uncle goes balls deep into it! and for the ppl who will bash me on what i said... homes dont get sold if their neighbor has horrendous paint schemes n what not on a house... it becomes an eyesore and really effects the price of the home or neighborhood.. if the prices does plummet from other homes then he is being greedy n unfair towards the other people! if the neighbors home was idk for example 5.5-6.5 million... i prolly only do a counter offer of 1.5 million max... which they wouldnt budge n neither will i... im not being harsh im just being honest... i really dislike peoples homes having marvel figurines or one piece n stuff all over the house! its totally fine for the den or a study room or even a area to entertain friends like a bar type of situation... i just find it very tacky! but to each their own right?

Is this some sort of rich people hoarding that is seen as a collection? If it was just clocks or just parrots It would’ve seen as more of a collection. But he seems happy and I guess that’s all that matters!!

When ones passion goes overboard-it can turn into something else. Im sure our kids will not take over the passion n such stuff can be a burden to them. N eventually get discarded or sold away or given/donated away...

There is little to no value in his collections. He is the same as my dad who collected Jade thinking there would be value in the long run but one man's "treasure" is most men's trash.

“Everyday I see my animal, my things…I just feel the joy…” ❤ love this sentence, simple yet somewhat power

The man is living his life to the fullest. I hope to find the same drive and passion he has with my own.
I walk past his home everyday. His neighbours are also very friendly, they gather in the street often, a big bunch of them
NEVER ASK HOW HE MADE SO MUCH MONEY TO AFFORD THIS. but mad respect for this guy to go this far
He's got the most amazing vision. His artistry is well beyond words could ever describe it.
What a wonderful whimsical man! I hope that if he do passed, his family will turn this house into a lil memorial museum of all his collections.
So awesome. Does Mr Cheong allow kaypoh people to visit him and admire all his cool collections in his house? 😍
There's no rhyme or reason to his collection. Superheroes, stuffed animals, clocks etc. I love it.
so glad to finally know the story behind this magical house!
what a well maintained collection.. even at outside.. walao wehh.. thats why neighbour also dont care.
I can’t imagine how expensive his collection must be!!
Taxidermy alone can cost from £100 upwards in England.
He has found axway to be happy. Bless him!
Uncle is a Legend 💙
He gotta be a happy person... And the white bird is a gem.💚
You rarely hear any unique stories in sg so this is special
Uncle Cheong, we are your supporters in the estate, from springfield. Bravo!
So eclectic so maximalist very refreshing to see! Would love to have an afternoon coffee with him and just chat hehehe
I can smell the dust and "antique" smell just by watching
I stay around here. And wake up to super man staring at me every morning

The parrot that replied back is super duper adorable 🤣🤣🤣🤣
OMG this is so unusual. How did he turn his home into a theme park?
Last few sentences were so well said… thats how i feel towards my pokemon card collection!! 😂
There's a Thai version of this man, her name is Sumanee, she's 80+ years old, her house isnt exactly a theme park but is full of luxury auctioned items from around the world.
Wow 🤩 she sounds interesting already. Does she live in Thailand or Singapore?
so cute so wholesome, made my day :')
Aww the parrots are so cute!
when i lived nearby last time, i often bring my gf paktor here then go simpang dinner, thanks Mr Cheong!
A lot of things to clean daily…

One day I want to go there..
3:20 does nobody else see 辉哥 in this uncle?! Hahaha
A maximalist dream house. Am I the only one who cracked up when he said "I like big birds"?
waoseh...marvel theme park
'i love big birds' - old man. shermz nods in agreement.
The insurance company headache.
His house is like museum.
very cute cockatoo
Ah Hui, le jiak ba boiii 😅
No complaints from the neighbours and authorities, fine.
Wow amazing, I need to go there to do a walking video!
Cute uncle cute parrot cute house ❤
Should have focused more on the inside and outside of the house than just pure interview. That's what people wanna see
this is such an interesting story n video
Lol I know this place, saw it once when I was just strolling around the neighbourhood 😂
Where is his house n can we visit
He looks like the ch 8 alamak uncle .
“Ah Ong ah…lerr Jiak Ba Buayyyyyyy?”
interesting, but I can't help but think of all the dust collecting.. 😢
Looks interesting, can we visit this place? Where is it located? Tks
True financial freedom
Uncle Cheong, please teach me how to earn so much money like u, who able to afford a big house and so much antiques. :D
Multiverse of 辉哥
A theme park no children want to go
The uncle is quite a hoarder though and using collection as an excuse
Hope he paid for the public space he used outside 🤣

the parrot is next in his taxidermy collection.
Parrot will outlive the human, and maybe even after his children.

and for the ppl who will bash me on what i said... homes dont get sold if their neighbor has horrendous paint schemes n what not on a house... it becomes an eyesore and really effects the price of the home or neighborhood.. if the prices does plummet from other homes then he is being greedy n unfair towards the other people!
if the neighbors home was idk for example 5.5-6.5 million... i prolly only do a counter offer of 1.5 million max... which they wouldnt budge n neither will i... im not being harsh im just being honest... i really dislike peoples homes having marvel figurines or one piece n stuff all over the house! its totally fine for the den or a study room or even a area to entertain friends like a bar type of situation... i just find it very tacky! but to each their own right?

Imagine if we have kids all gone into pieces 😅 think Single
Just that the house beside or opposite him might be quite hard to find buyers😂
Hoarding ?😬
Damn where did he get the money
So it is called hoarding when one is poor, and called "collecting" when the rich does it. Got it.
For your case you are jealous la huh.. hahah

Eventually get discarded or sold away so what’s the problem for the now? Are we not allowed to have joy in our lives? Haha 😂
Well of course we can...we can collect to our hearts content...n leave the burden to our kids...

He has joy in it. You are not him. So, it is not considered "waste" in his perspective.
