I love that you don’t have to have a fancy dancy computerized sewing machine to make a beautiful quilt.❤

I do have one of those fancy machines but much prefer one of my vintage sewing machines for simple piecing. I reserve the fancy machine for free motion embroidery, decorative stitching and quilting. Thanks for watching, Rhubarb!🥰

found it. but... I LOVE having one little point of interest in the structure of a quilt.. it is my reminder in a quilt that 'to err is human' that is how we learn, evolve and grow! I will always have one little thing .. sometimes an error, sometimes a little mini item of interest that doesn't belong: a ladybug, a mouse.. a wee bird... a piece out of place.. .. for the inquisitive eye to find, either unintentional or deliberate..

Love this quilt. I think it’d be easier and time-saving to make column stacks instead of row stacks than having to remove one from each row pile and repin every time.

Love this idea and particularly that little ref triangle going thr rong way, there's always one who is individual.❤ Bless you all. My next project is a large chip potato block around a panel that says " THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD" and a beautiful picture of a lamb for a member of our church. We had a member who gave everyone a quilt and yesterday I gave a new member a quilt and afterwards a very dear lady came up to me and said she hadn't received one so when I got home from church into my stash I went.

Hi Just came across your channel. Love your video and quilt. Another great tip that works especially well when you are webbing your quilts which I do is the traffic light method. I saw it online years ago. If you lay all your blocks out on the floor or design wall as you want them then you put a green go pin on the left hand side of the very first block (top left corner). Then you put an orange pin on the bottom of the second block in your last row. Then you take all your blocks off the wall in vertical rows (not horizontal) starting with block 1 & 2 first row, then block 1&2 second row, block 1&2 third row etc until you get down to the bottom where your orange pin is. Then you go back to block 3 at the top andpick all those up from top to bottom all the while adding them to the bottom of the pile. Keep doing this until you have stacked all your blocks on top of each other into one big stack. Then all you have to do is chain piece by taking the first two blocks from the top then the next two and sewing them together until you come to your orange pin. After that you go back to the top of your two sewn web and the rest of your stack is in order so you just add nethe next block on top. This is great for baby quilts like yours. If I am making a full size quilt with small blocks I pick up and stack a quarter of the quilt at a time. Then sew the four quarter pieced sections together. I hope this makes sense and you might like to try it. I used to keep mine in rows but this works well and I find it a bit easier and takes up less space having all your blocks in one stack. 😀 Actually I found the Doug Leko on youtube demonstrate the method on a fat quarter shop video ua-cam.com/video/vFNc37E1FzQ/v-deo.html

Love your chit chat as you go. I have a 1923 Singer Sewing machine and would love to know how to shorten the stitch length. I am 77 years old and have stiched for many years. No problems. But some quilting needs a shorter stitch length. Love your quilt by the way . i live in South Africa on a farm. Inthe Gauteng area.

Hello South Africa! Thanks for watching, Suzan. If you join my Discord server discord.gg/6dDkZKesrj You will be able to post a photo of your machine. Once I see the machine I can most probably get you the manual and/or tell you how to change the stitch length. I probably have 20 sewing machines within a rooms length from my Singer 301. I have many more scattered around the house. I just love them all! I'd love to see your farm too. I worked at a major university doing websites, ecommerce, etc.... for over 25 years. I was helping a faculty member who had a school in South Africa. He brought me a glass container filled with sand from the Southern most beach from there. I still have it.

YES I See Your Crazy Chicken.
My unfortunate experience using embrodery floss in quilting...the red floss bled badly when washed.. Do you intend to never wash your quilts?
Thanks for mentioning thrift stores.. All my quilting supplies came from Goodwill and some from Salvation Army. The Goodwills where I often shop have a $1.00 day on Monday. I have very easily found mostly brand new mens all cotton shirts. I try to get many colors and shades. It is a different group of items every week Determined by tag color. Some stores have senior days where seniors get best deals. I got my backing fabrics at another Goodwill. Duvet covers, sheets with various designs and colors, pillow cases and shams, curtains and drapes, etc. Also, some very nice dress making fabric. I wash them and cut them apart and iron each piece as I go. Then they are folded and stored in huge suitcases,,,also from Goodwill.

Thanks for watching, Avotts! I haven't had any issues with embroidery floss, yet. Sounds like you have thrifting down to a science! Great job! I love the suitcase idea!

Greetings from Arkansas! Love the video! I'm curious, the quilt in the background with a bird, I think, do you have a pattern or video!

Thanks for watching, Kitty! Are you talking about the bird blocks behind my head? Those are exclusive patterns for my Ko-Fi membership crew.
