This comment will likely get lost in the sea of positivity that you so deserve right now. To see you graduate from yeeting people in iRacing to winning your first ever motorsports series has been nothing short of sensational to the entire racing community, and it's been a shining example of what anyone can do when they put their mind, heart and 10,000 litres of energy drink to it.
We love you, and we can't fucking wait to see what the future unfolds for you, especially with that errr bronze certificate.

okay. What DID you actually do? you managed, through your Sim Races and your humble personality, was to unite people from all over the world, your fans and supporters, in one unified support team who lived every moment of your IRL experience with you! You gave us all a FACE we knew, not some anonymous racing driver, but a friend who'd made his dream come true! We all backed you, supported you, lived the dream WITH you and rejoiced when you did well...because it seemed you did it all for US as well as for yourself!
Think about that Jimmy. People from ALL OVER THE WORLD, people who watched you Sim Race and then do it in REAL LIFE and stay approachable and humble about something we'd ALL like to be able to do! Every single one of us out here would almost kill to get the chance you got and we DID live it through you! In the process you Sim Raced with real guys from Formula 1 and found that they, despite their godlike reputations, were just real people who had fun with playing games and welcomed you and helped you get better!
You gave us a real face, a real "friend" in a REAL RACE CAR and you shared your emotions with us. You made us love you and you brought us into a world we'd never have been able to enter without you. And...you made your Grandfather proud, you know you did. He was undoubtedly smiling down on you with every lap you drove and was right there with you when you and Gordie collected P1 trophies.
Well done lad. Well done indeed, from this 74 year old Grandma from the U.S.

Hey Jim, just wanted to point out that Jem already spilled the beans and mentioned you were teaming up with geordie next year and that was the reason for the team switch. She mentioned it in the video on the praga UA-cam channel of the last race.
Also wanted to say its been a blast following your adventures. I know its been a difficult but rewarding year in terms of the first year of racing, but as a fan, I'd love to see more videos on the IRL racing. It was a bit limited this year to all the races and practice sessions you did. Any chance we can get more in between stuff as well? Maybe more q&a stuff, perhaps interview team mates or engineers or other drivers or behind the scenes or something. Anything that's just more IRL racey content

A phrase that has helped me when I doubt myself: Don't ever worry that there is someone better at a thing than you, because no matter how good some is, there is always someone better.
And in racing even more so, because no-one can actually agree who the GOAT racing driver actually is, so why worry about it, because it's all subjective in the end and in racing, you can be the literal best in the field and still not win.
Put simply, you've raced a racing car, in a sanctioned race series and you and your team mate have won races with the trophy to prove it. No ifs, ands, or buts, that's the facts, simple as, end of.
And given where you started out from having had to move into the shed at that massive low point, to stabilise your life, and then push on up to the point you're living one of your literal dreams is an achievement beyond measure. I've said it comments before, but you Jimmy are one of my examples of how no matter how far or low we fall, we CAN come back from it, we CAN get better and the metaphorical morning WILL come. It's a hard journey, but you are proof it can be done and screw anything else, I will cheer that all day long.
Some of the hair cuts are kind of dumb though, you need to work on that ;)

The reason this sort of thing is so resonant with sim racers is because we all love stories of people entering that universe coming from this universe because all of us have a granule of that hope in our heads. Vanishingly few will do it, so it's a great job that sim racing is now a monster in it's own right. Nowadays we have a lot of reason to be hopeful but little reason to be sad, racing other folks online is easy and risk free - the vast majority of racing drivers have sacrificed a lot in other areas of life to get in their seats and stay there and a lot of them come out the other end with nothing to show for it whilst everyone else was settling down, building careers, it's easy to envy people that are in the industry but nothing comes for free. Great work!

I got emotional at the part where you said your mind went back to the first time you streamed on UA-cam and how your life was back then.
I don't really comment or say much in the streams, but I've been following you since you less than 10k subscribers I think. I still remember vividly that GT3 stream where someone donated like 100 quid and it dawned on you that, this may actually be something you could do for a living.
I've had a lot of my own struggles, many similar to yours and like you, I've wanted to be a racing driver since I was a child. That dream probably isn't going to come through for me, but I'm glad it did for you Jimmy. There's a lot of people who get success who I begrudge for not deserving it, or taking it for granted, but you definitely don't fit into that category.

100% one my favourite drivers out there. Just a shame you never got the same chances as some of the best drivers in the world but thats what makes you so good is the fact you weren't handed it. You worked hard to get the drive in that car and can't wait to see more of goldie

So proud to see how well you've done this season Jimmy, against some quality drivers too and looking forward to your next racing chapter and hopefully Gordie will get closer to turning you into an absolute weapon like he is.

It's cool to hear you talk about the fitness side. I am a performance coach for Motorsports Athletes (mostly work with Road Racers in the Motoamerica series, but have a handful of 4 wheel athletes I work with as well). While I do both physical and mental performance work, you noted the most criminally undertrained muscle group out there... the neck. The G's your neck is subject to is sheer insanity. Usually much worse in car racing than motorcycles. Love seeing this side of the journey!

And the description of your first win... chills man. I've shared those moments with some of my athletes and working to have my own eventually. Described it to perfection.

I went to go simracing because of you. The first couple of video's i thought they were a bit weird. But you really grew on me . And i enjoy the fact that you grown from a shed to your own home and from your chair and screen to the real life tracks. What a journey.
I myself am having the best time in my current season of simracing with good people. I learned a lot. Thanks for getting out there. Be good and cant wait for the things that are coming.

Your channel appeared in my stream way back when you dreamed of getting to 500k subs. Your vids then weren't really sim racing such as the likes of Jardier, you did a few high profile races, unboxed brand name goodies, tested cheap sim racing products and competed in a few self made challenges. You also did a couple of petrol head vids of your cars, driving round real roads. But then your vids from Oulton Park, we saw the inner racing driver. I think from that point on, for me, you changed from UA-cam Influencer/Sim Racer to IRL Racer. I love that you've titled this vid 'My First Year', because you should be carrying on racing cars professionally. You have worn your heart on your sleeve this season's vids and I thank you for including us on your journey.

Jimmy, it took me a long time to reflect on Brands Hatch and the tragedy. And when I say long time, I mean right now.
This past season I volunteered to be a marshal/ flagger at my home track (Summit Point) and there were a couple times where I went out on a hot track with minimal regard for my own safety. I was there to ensure the drivers were safe and uninjured in the case of a crash. That was my job, my responsibility, one that I did not take lightly.
Looking back now I can see that a couple of situations I put myself in were really dangerous and really stupid, but I would do it all again if it meant that I was potentially saving someone's life. If the worst were to happen to me on the track... well fine. I would go doing something I love and something that, in my eyes, is very noble.
I like to believe that Robert felt the same way. He was doing something noble, something he loved, something that he would do again and again. With all of that in mind, I don't think any of us would want the racing to stop on our account.

I don't follow you much these days since my sim rig has been collecting dust, but man Jimmy I'm proud of you. They will make a movie about you one day Jimmer!

I couldn't stop smiling through the last few minutes of the video. Following your journey has been so inspiring and it's beautiful to see something so *real* feeling in racing.
You're not some prodigy, someone born into a family of racers, just someone who really cares about racing and I'm so glad you got this opportunity and (imo) made the absolute most of it and really shown you were willing to put the work in to do the best you can.
I think you genuinely try to do something positive with your content and absolutely succeed at it. From the perspective of an outsider just watching,
I think you deserve this and it's been fantastic to watch.
The win was a fantastic conclusion to this chapter of real racing and I hope you get the chance to do it again, I would love to see it.

When my nan passed away in October 2020 I was lost. As lost as you could imagine. I had to find a way through it. I found myself putting my mind towards sim racing and got myself a G29 at the time. I found this channel and watched your videos on IRacing, Assetto Corsa, and even the Drivetube videos of the shed tour. Since then i've been able to pull through the major depression I had of losing my nan. I pulled myself out of pretty much wanting it all to end. Even got to the point where I was so ready to call it quits. And then your video on Mental Health crept through the UA-cam algorithm. and it touched me so much. Seeing that you was able to get out of the depression stage and making something pushed me forward. I got a Fanatec setup. A whole new rig. I even got Married in June! So thank you Jimmy. And congratulations on all the achievements you have made. You really, truly are an inspiration.
