    Closely following this since I have the exact car and exact problem. Thanks for doing all the hard work. I’m too busy to investigate and certainly too busy to get jerked around by a dealer which I know would happen.

    Great video! I really hope you get this issue resolved. I picked up the same exact car (2.0L NA engine with manual transmission) as yours 6 days ago, but the 2024 model. 2 days ago we had torrential downpours here in the NYC area and when things cleared up yesterday, I checked my hatch as well as the spare tire well and was relieved to discover that there were no leaks or water build up. With that said, however, I do want to keep in the know about this issue because you never know when I might end up experiencing the same issue. Your channel is invaluable.

    Best of luck with the issue. I ended up having to switch though. For context, I used to own a 2017 Civic Hatchback until this year. At that time it felt like a better deal, because the hatchback still had the LX trim and all trims came with the 1.5T. Tie that in with the 6MT, and it was a perfect value car imo. I probably would've stayed with that car for another 5 years without any issues. But I had the opportunity to get a 2023 Sport one instead. And I just wasn't feeling it. After 2 months, I finally committed to swapping for a 2024 WRX Base. And man, this is exactly what I'm looking for. But I'll still stop by to look at your content, keep it up.

    I finally put a deposit down on a white one to be delivered in a couple of weeks. I was tempted by 2024 WRX Base, because EyeSight is just that much better than Honda-Sensing, in my experience, but that port-injected 2.0NA and hatchback is just so right for me. Got the out-the-door price written down on paper, and I even recorded the conversation to make sure the deal is off if they do anything to the car other than PDI.
    As for the leak, if mine leaks, I wouldn't know for years, because it's unlikely to see a drop of rain under my ownership. I simply don't drive much, and I'll still have the Fit EX MT6.
    Regardless, I love owners sharing knowledge. Owners often know more than dealer drones.

    I traded in my leaking '22 Civic Hatchback for a Passport 2 months ago. I didn't want to be stuck with this problem anymore. I had numerous "fixes" and each one would last for 2-3 months. It was also running out of warranty and I got sick of dealing with this issue.

    lol I was just in the back of my CR-Z trying to find a similar leak. I pulled it all apart and I still haven't found the source. Replaced the seal around the hatch and noticed a little dent in the hatch where it meets the seal so that might be a clue to some of the water coming in but I think the glass might also be leaking.

    Just purchased a 24 in the exact trim and color last week… live in Rhode Island and as of now have seen no issue with the hatch.. have had a ton of rain the past couple of weeks and so far so good. Wondering if I’m getting lucky or if Honda changed something. Love your channel btw (new sub) just ordered the same UK spoiler and some Tuxmat floor mats seeing I got the cheap carpet mats with mine

    can you make a video on how to remove the interior hatch panel

    • @NAUS2K
      @NAUS2K  2 місяці тому +1

      It’s pretty simple, 2 screws are visible, they need to be removed, then there is two more under the hook covers for the privacy cover tray. Once those 4x screws are removed, you just need to pry down and around the edge of it , it’s a bunch of plastic clips

  • @JC-to9ts
    @JC-to9ts 14 днів тому

    Do you have a video on removing that interior trim to expose the hatch? I don’t have a leak but do need to sound deaden that hatch to fix a rattle from a subwoofer. I can’t find any info on the removal process.

    Just found this in my car, have about 2 inch’s of water in the tire well. Everyone needs to file complaints to the NHSTA to have this has a full recall. I have read so many posts about this. It’s a design flaw and Honda needs to pony up the money to fix everyone’s car

    Is it always such a small amount of water that pours out, like exposed in this video ? or is it for demonstration only ?
    This couple-of-spoons amount there is fairly small and could be the result of condensation. Car panels hole such as these pointed are usually not made for dealing with actual water ingress, instead they are condensation exit path. A few drops such as what you showed can be expected especially when the air is moist and cold, such as in the morning.
    However, car designers usually place these holes where it has to leave the car and cannot accumulate to a small puddle. If this hypothesis is plausible to you, water accumulation would be the result of a poor choice regarding the hatch condensation exit drains, that lead into the trunk and end up accumulating under high moisture conditions. Thus explaining how many people have the same issue but not everyone. Panels are made identical without a doubt, influence of weather and other humidity parameters exterior to the car could explain discrepancy between owners observations. Never mind if the actual amount of water is significantly more.

    • @NAUS2K
      @NAUS2K  2 місяці тому

      It’s not condensation, it only happens after a day or two of rain. Honda has came back and informed me that zero water should ever exit those drains if sealed properly. I open the hatch daily when it rains and the clips shown in this video is the usual amount. If I didn’t open the hatch for let’s say a month straight, the water will build up I. The hatch and start spilling into the spare tire area. However if you drain the hatch daily it will never have a chance to overflow and get to the spare tire area. The clip shown in the beginning of the spare tire are full of water was about a week after I took delivery of the car, so it was most likely because the car sat outside for a month or two before it was delivered to my dealer, and in that time the hatch was not opened. Also, the drain points I show in this video are inside the seal when the hatch is closed, they are not exposed to the outside environment
