Yes, there are many parallels between Caesar and Moses; they exist to some extent in the previous films but this one makes it pretty explicit. Freeing his people from bondage, having them saved at the last minute by a miraculous act of god, and him dying just in sight of the promised land. And he's the lawgiver, he was raised among the oppressors, etc. So good.
When they say the little girls name is Nova, I immediately flash back to the 1968 original Planet of the Apes movie and Linda Harrison who was the original Nova. Her and Charlton Heston on the horse on the beach with the Statue of Liberty in the sand. Iconic imagery.
“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” was in theaters this summer and just recently made its way to streaming. It explores what was next in the timeline after the events you just watched. Some different characters to learn and follow along with, but I thought was very well done as well. A lot of other reaction channels are just getting around to watching and posting, so it would be pretty timely.
Im 57 and i grew up loving the original movies and the TV series. It was a huge influence on my childhood, and the development of my world view. Not only did this newer trilogy live up to my expectations it actually surpassed them. I was pleasantly surprised to find out i like it even more than the original movies! That being said i'm really glad you guys started out with the original 1968 movie that got this whole franchise started, and i'm really glad to see the younger generations appreciating it as much as I do.
If you remember the very first movie. The 1960's "Planet of the Apes" with Charleston Heston, the girlfriend he took with him at the end was named "Nova". The "Alpha Omega The Beginning and the end" quote on the tank that explodes is a not to "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" the 2nd in the series after the original.
I always chuckle when the the Col. rambles off and says "you're probably not much of a reader" when Caesar grew up in a home with a large library and frequently played chess as well. Talk about not knowing your enemy at all.
The doll is similar to Smallpox blankets, blankets given to Native American tribes to spread the disease. The donkeys were also similar to the scout native Americans that helped the cavalry track. These movies are great at using history to mirror our current society.
Blankets were not given to Native Americans to intentionally spread smallpox. I have to assume that you paid enough money to buy a small house to go to college to become so ignorant.
Kingdom of the Planets of the Apes , came out this May, directed by Wes Ball who did the Maze Runner films. I thought it was very well done, they do a great job of honoring Caesar's legacy. Wes Ball is a true fan of the whole franchise. I strongly suggest doing the Alien franchise next, the first two are the best, the second one was directed by James Cameron .
APE MOSES I've said it for many years and I will continue to say it. Caesar is easily one of the greatest characters in cinema history. AND this trilogy is easily one of the greatest ever created.
The ending drew a parallel with the story of Moses, who led the Hebrews out of bondage and to the promised land, but wasn't allowed to enter the promised land himself.
As also reflected by Martin Luther King is his legendary speech. This is a real war humanity is having with itself. Those who try to lead us on the right path are destroyed by those who benefit from pointing us in the wrong direction.
Hi Rob and Amber I have to admit you guys are my favorite reaction show. I really enjoy watching you guys enjoying the movies and music of my time. I'm trailing 60 years of age so I grew up watching and listening to the music and watching movies you two enjoy so much. It really warms my heart watching young people appreciate the arts of the 80s and 90s that I enjoyed so much back in the day. I especially enjoyed watching you guys watch the Green Mile. I saw it the day it came out. You may enjoy afew recommendations I have like A time to kill and The ghost of Mississippi.
I came here to comment on the same thing. It really is one of the best trilogies ever, and for some reason they never watched Part III. So I really hope they will finally react to the last one!
@@endresnildal223 I think they reacted to number 1 at the beginning of the channel. Took some time off to do 2. Never saw 3. I wondered if they just weren’t that into it and quietly let it drop. Not everything is for everybody.
I can’t wait for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes to be available for streaming so we can get y’all’s reaction for that one! I love rewatching all these movies with y’all! ❤️
I've always loved Planet Of The Apes from the original movie and the original TV series onwards. It's a story that tells us about human cruelty to other humans because they are different. Everything you see in War For The Planet Of The Apes mirrors what humans have actually done to each other. It's a tale as old as time and rarely told better than in this franchise. Earth is home for everyone and everything. It's the only one we've got. We have got to learn to share.
The Dollars trilogy with Clint Eastwood would be great if you did. The Good The Bad and the Ugly Fist Full of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More. Would love to see you do a few more westerns.
I’ve never watched any of the Planet of the Apes movies until watching them here. Great reactions! Im a crier too, so easily. I’m watching this one on my lunch break so I gotta keep it together. 😢
You have heard Maurice speak before this movie. He spoke in the last movie. After Koba shot Caesar when he was rallying the other chimps together. Maurice was walking the humans out when he heard what was going on. He turned to the humans and said “RUN!”
The next series you should begin is pirates of the caribbean The series you need to finish is back to the future The movies you still need to see are Gladiator and the sound of music
Those poor horses, though. Seriously, a horse might be able to easily carry a Chimp rider, but Gorillas and Orangutangs? Nah, those horse spines are snapping under that weight.
Oh yes...avalanches can be destructive to this level and beyond! The only reason we don't have them occur now is that every place where they could build up the mass of snow necessary are preemptively triggered when small. Sometimes they drop explosives and some places even use military artillery pieces! :)
26:17 - 26:20 Peter Griffin: Ah, ah. He said it, he said it. PS: Nova is the name of the girl from the original Planet of the Apes that went with George Taylor (Charlton Heston)
I've seen all 10 Planet Of The Apes movies; the original from 1968 & its 4 sequels, the reimagined movie, & the 4 reboot movies. There is 1 element in particular I love about this movie that always bothered me about the original franchise. In the 3rd movie from the original franchise we learn that a virus wiped out all pets so humans trained apes as pets & servants, but then in the 4th movie they rose up against the humans. Over time the apes got smart which led to the events of the original 1968 movie, but it was never explained how or why humans became dumber than the apes. Here, it's explained that the virus that made apes smart while wiping out most of the human population mutated & started making the human survivors dumb, which was a clever explaination to that problem I always had about the original 1968 movie.
You should continue with Kingdom of the planet of the apes. After that, some series suggestions are the newer set of X-Men movies beginning with X-Men: First Class. They have a different set of actors and give insight into the earlier years of the characters. The Jason Bourne trilogy with Matt Damon as Bourne is great. Also, the James Bond movies would be worth a look. The very early ones from the 1960s are dated but still entertaining. They could explain where a lot of the characters in the Austin Powers movies came from. However, I recommend starting with the movies starring Daniel Craig, the most recent Bond. His five movies begin with Casino Royale.
Here is a suggestion: Sports Movie, but about distance running, based on a true story "Running Brave." I was a cross-country runner in High School, and I loved this movie.
you still have trilogies to finish "Back to the future" and "The Matrix" and "Terminator" (those last 2 went beyond 3 movies actually, so here's another few movieseries to finish 😋) "Rocky", "Rambo", "Jurrassic park", "Police academy", "Naked gun", "Airplane"
Hi, hope you’re well thanks for completing this trilogy. I hope you brought tissues your gonna need them. Kingdom next please. It’s the beginning of a whole new trilogy with different characters that are just as special as Caesar, Maurice and Rocket. My faves from Kingdom are Noa, (the protagonist ), Anaya, Soona and Raka. It’s a great start to a new trilogy and i can’t wait for the next installment . There is 5-6 more movies to come yet. I hope you enjoy the end of Caesars story. I’m looking forward to your reaction to Bad Ape. He provides much needed comic relief as War is a very dark film at times. People felt misled by the title because there is very little war seen only really at the beginning. I think it’s about a war within Caesar. Take care and i’ll catch you when you watch Kingdom. R.I.P. Bright Eyes and Buck from Rise R.I.P. Ash and Koba from Dawn and finally R.I.P. Caesar, Blue Eyes, Cornelia, Winter, Lukka and Big Red (The gorilla donkey) All gone but not forgotten. ❤️💔😭🤧 #ApesTogetherStrong ❤️ #CaesarNeverForgotten ❤️ #TeamNoa (Kingdom) ❤️ 😘🏴
Its not a better trilogy than back to the future or the extended editions of the lord of the rings but its 100% the best since the lord of the rings. Andy Serkis killed it as Caesar! Anyway love you guys!
Please watch Ip Man starring Donnie Yen, the same actor in John Wick 4 and also Rogue One! It's a foreign movie but I think you two will enjoy it a lot!!
Woody Harrelson is an amazing actor and can really play a bad guy...but it's so weird to me to see him in those roles cause I've met him and he's such a nice guy...lol. But yeah, he's a great actor.
I haven’t been able to watch this trilogy. I watched the original one back in the 70’s I think and it made me cry. I haven’t been able to watch any since then.
Heartbreaking that humams can be so cruel. Some good trilogy style fims, "Matrix", Pirates of the Caribbean", "Mad Max", "The Hunger Games" and "Blade". Thanx so much, take care, Peace
Once again (like in the last movie), I really wish you had the subtitles on!! I don't read sign language and would have liked to know what the apes were saying.
It's sad but I can understand the Colonel's position. He sees the future for humanity if they let the apes remain. It is not an easy decision and you almost have to lose some of your humanity to see the course of action he was set on through. But he knows that there cannot be a peaceful co-existance because, even though the apes don't intend to infect the humans, they will.
*IMPORTANT FYI:* There are 5 original movies (1968 - 1973). If you only watch the first original 1968 & the modern "Andy Serkis" 4 - yes, you could speculate a link to the stories - it works, *but it is a false link.* There is a huge difference between the two stories. *I'm a fan of both the original 5 and the modern 4 for different reasons.* -- There was also a 2001 stand alone movie. It stinks as a stand alone movie. It's only redeeming factor is it introduces some key plot point lore used later in the series. -- The 5th (Battle) relies heavy on the lore that had been developed through the series. Knowing the lore really elevates the movie and the Bootstrap Paradox being presented. As a stand alone it is just an "ok" movie with a very low budget.
These were great movies and loved seeing your reactions to them. Better than another trilogy...how about an amazing franchise that has 27 movies...and counting! It's time for you to get into the ultimate spy/action James Bond movies. They have action, sports, gadgets, exotic locations, battles, explosions, comedy, romance and are all very entertaining. The first one stars Sean Connery and is titled "Dr No."
I'm not sure which trilogies / series of movies y'all have watched. Some great ones are: Bourne movies, Shrek movies, Mission Impossible movies, The Silence of the Lambs (which was followed by Hannibal and Red Dragon, so it's a trilogy), Friday the 13th movies, Halloween movies, Alien movies, the Scream movies, the Lethal Weapon movies, the Naked Gun movies, and the Creed movies are all great watches. Take your pick! :) Not sure I can say y'all enjoyed this movie, lol, but glad you reacted to it! It's a heavy movie, to be sure.
The Friday 13th movies include some real stinkers. Part 8 was one of the worst movies ever made. And part 3 was the corniest 3D movie ever shot. But, there are some diamonds in the rough and we shall be forever grateful that Friday The 13th gave us a new classic era of horror.
Terrific trilogy! Caesar is such a great character. Please, react to The Hunger Games trilogy, it's incredible! Yes, it's a trilogy, it's just that the third movie is broken up into 2 parts, like the final Harry Potter movie, making it four movies total. You will feel EVERYTHING, during this series. And, you would be honoring the great Donald Sutherland, who passed recently, who played one of the screen's most memorable villains. Jennifer Lawrence is the star ❤✌
interesting fact about War do you remember Malcolm from Dawn in a deleted scene Malcolm went to see the coronel to tell him to leave Caesar and his tribe alone because the apes don’t want war but the coronel turns round shoots Malcolm and kills him.
Well, there is the Alien series. The first two are great but they are scary. The two Blade Runner films are great sci-fi that makes you wonder what it is to be human. Stunning visuals and music. Terminator 1 and 2 are great sci-fi action films.
I would like to recommend Taken (2008). And all though, that is a trilogy it would be great even if we only got the first one, since it`s such a stand out movie all by itself. I`m sure many would agree with me. And before you might choose to continue with Taken 2 and Taken 3, please at least finish off the Back to the Future Trilogy. Have been waiting forever on that one now!
Have you guys reacted to any series yet? I’m asking because I’d love to see you two react to Game of Thrones if you’ve haven’t already seen it. I think that would be a blast to watch!
Hey Amber and Jay. Your next trilogy needs to be "Men In Black." You'll love it. It's sci-fi, aliens, and comedy. Starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. 😃👽🛸
Ceasar was the Apes' Moses... He led them out of bondage but didn't enter the promise land
Yes, there are many parallels between Caesar and Moses; they exist to some extent in the previous films but this one makes it pretty explicit. They named the little human Nova which is the name of the woman they gave the human astronaut to mate with in the original 1969 movie.
Thank you. I came here to say that. 🙂

SHANIA TWAIN UPDATE…….. contracted Lyme disease which effected her vocal chords 2003, told wouldn’t sing again x
there is the kingdom of the planet of the apes 2024
Great trilogy reaction. I love you guys.
Have you done “click” with Adam Sandler?
Steve Zahn was amazing as Bad Ape
*****That GIRL Looks Like DAKOTA FANNING, but She's AMIAH MILLER.
The next trilogy you guys should watch is Blade. You guys should really like it.
Blade trilogy with Wesley Snipes would be a great one to check out!!!! You both would love it. You got action AND horror/sci-fi!!!!!!
You guys should really watch Big Fish. You will love it.
Caesar, like Moses, could not enter the promised land.
Caesars legacy lives on if you watch Kingdom Caesar is never forgotten
Maurice is my fave too but i love orangutans so..
Another franchise to watch are the Chucky films. Starts off with Child's Play (1988, not the recent remake) 😀
"Rage, rage against the dying of the light". (cit.)
This is great trilogy with a great ending. The next movie (kingdom) does it justice.
I love these movies. I want Maurice to be my bestie 🖤
Hey Amber and Jay. Your next trilogy needs to be "Men In Black." You'll love it. It's sci-fi, aliens, and comedy. Starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. 😃👽🛸
🤦♂️I hope they do not see this comment .. this movie is pure 💩
And I’m the first comment. Double bonus!!!!🎉
Casino Royale is the best James Bond movie.
Great Reaction... Would love to see yalls reaction to KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES ... I feel yall will love it ....
Come on guys. Still no subtitles for the apes?
