It’s extremely important to note that in this scene, Grovyle entrusts the time gears to your partner, not you. You being Grovyle’s former partner, you would think he would make his successor the person who was his partner, but instead, he tells your partner to take the time gears and succeed Grovyle. This is because Grovyle sees how strong your partner is, and that your partner is stronger than any of them. It shows the massive amount of development your partner went through to get to this point, your partner started out as a timid chicken, but now, your partner has grown strong enough to succeed Grovyle. Grovyle entrusted the fate of the world to your partner. It’s amazing how this one little action shows how much your partner developed throughout the story.
I don't think it's only the strength part that made him see the partner like this. I think it's the bond you had with your partner, it's a bond as strong as between grovyle and you. Remember the conversation they had at Sharpedo Bluff ? I think that made Grovyle realise that.
@@_piranha Indeed, Grovyle realises that your partner is a worthy successor to himself, being the only one to not back down when Dusknoir and Primal Dialga caught all of you trying to go back to past.
Grovyle's background story and the way he sacrificed himself was too stunning and emotional. As soon as he said the 2 quotes (not in order): "You two are... the greatest of combinations" and "Thought parting hurts... The rest is in your hands!", I felt my eyes burn and tears forming.
'YOU BETTER NOT GO-' Oh no not this again- first it was N, now its Grovyle! wait- they're both green hmm... Natural Harmonia Gropius, are you seeing this? This is you in a pokemon world
I was actually tearing up at the scene where Grovyle was trying to push Dusknoir into the time portal. This remix is great to listen to especially since I'm on the fifth Special Episode of PMD: Explorers of Sky. Great Job!!
Thinking back on how Grovyle was canonically "your partner in the past (/future)", it is starting to hit me more remembering that Treecko happened to be my very first partner in the PMD series (Red Rescue Team). In the end, he's just ones and zeroes of binary data, but Hell if I don't keep fond memories of him and our virtual adventures together.
I have a special spot in my heart for this one. The image of the hero and Grovyle about to enter the Passage of Time just before the beginning of the storyline we know and love... the emotion, courage, and determination in their eyes as they prepare themselves for what they are about to do: jump in _together_ ... It makes what follows in the storyline all the more heartbreaking. Not only are they separated, but one side of all their shared memories in everything they went through to get this far... are now gone... 😢
Really the whole OST from PMD darkness/time/sky was amazing. It really help set the tone for the story and the game. From the start, to the dungeons, to you climbing temporal tower and the fight with dialga(Dialgas fight to the finish is my personal favorite), and the end. The song that plays before, during and after you fade away from exsiatance, really adds raw emotion to the scene. It's why I love this game. I actually have it now... though it's not the original carterage I had (i sold it, dumb idea) I went and bought it and even at 21 years old, I got tears at the end. Amazing game, amazing music.
@@TheShadowflare1 I'm happy that people at that age still know this game is godtier, no matter if it's a little pixel DS game it's story and the music is phenomenal

I feel like the fact that a quote from Grovyle (the famous long one from the Special Episode) is my senior quote really says everything you need to know about the impact these games had on me. Just. Flawless.
"All i'd ever known is the future's world of darkness. Upon coming to this world...And seeing the sun for the first time... It was staggering. Seeing it... It strengthened my resolve to turn history away from a future of darkness." -Grovyle

Sorry for my rambling, I just got hit with a wave of nostalgia, thanks Zame, this was an amazing remaster!!
