☀️ About this channel
This channel is all about designing an intentional life, simplifying your days and getting things done.
*the less i own, the more freedom i have.* this is what i've learnt about becoming a minimalist about two years ago. it completely changes they way you consume and how to fill your space. there are so many different ways to go about decluttering, the most important is finding guidelines that work for YOU! You want to enjoy the process and actually declutter things you don't need, not because someone told you to 😄 also totally feel you about hating the cold, my family suggested we go skiing next year and that was a big no for me 😂
I love that quote and your advice!
Sophia Davies Thank you! 💜
For me, those views of snowy mountains everywhere you look when going skiing also give a huge feeling of freedom! Would recommend to try but ofc for everyone their own thing🦋
@@saramarijndroog4580 That does sound amazing! I am used to the heat in Australia though haha! I'm sure I'll brave the cold some day
Lol, when your partner popped in behind you at 6:05! 😆
omg luke, i didn't even notice that!
I saw that! 😂 dark shadows lurking in the background
Haha
Hahahaha bless him
I like the sneaky surprise behind you when you were doing the pantry clean. So wholesome.
Yess!! A fresh space= a clear mind!! It used to be sooo difficult for me to get rid of things. I would always think “I can use this one day”. 🤣 Not anymore!!! If I went an entire year without using it, I don’t need it. Lol
From a self love content creator to another- nice & calming video Muchelle. I enjoyed it! 💗
I've actually been cleaning/decluttering over the past few days, I even vertically folded my clothes on Monday for the first time!
Got rid of two full trash bags of clothing!
Love thiss
When I travelled one thing I learn when living in a campervan...op shopping in the towns I went to when I needed a jacket and snow gloves and when I got home I donated it back ❤
Also I declutter clothes with every season :)
Love your video x ^_^
This is the video I needed to watch today. I am so inspired to do some reorganising & of course decluttering in the process. Thank you. 😊
Your Channel is always so inspiring, your years of hard work on here always inspires me to keep working on my own channel. I hope you are safe and well 💕
ughhh girl i don't think you understand how much i adore you! your videos are honestly the only thing getting me through quarantine! so inspiring, so refreshing and so motivating that i finally found the courage to start my own channel, so i just wanted to thank you so much girl
WELL DONE!!! Thank you so much for the kind words, and good on your for starting!! That's the hardest part. 🥰
Liza is getting so big!! she's adorable. Man I wish I had youtube and you and all these self-help resources and guru people books around in my 20s - I only really started learning how to life a couple of years ago when I hit 30 and discovered this stuff existed - my folks are older so things like mindfulness, self compassion, multiple income streams rather than one job you're in your entire life etc were fluffy new age concepts to be scoffed at and having your shit together was something you should be doing, were a failure if you didn't do... and yet NOBODY teaches you HOW to do it, and that there are different approaches and they're all ok.
I’m so excited to watch once I’m done studying for the day, your videos have kept me going while in quarantine 💕
"Melbourne is cold" *cries in Canadian*
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am a Canadian just got outta winter
Melbourne is cold in winter, Antartic winds. Obviously not as cold as Canada lol
thank you for blessing us with this gloriously satisfying and motivating (but like in a chill way) content!
Muchelle, your minimalism and organisation videos are some of my absolute favourites. I really appreciate the way you present your content - everything is so clear and concise! Looking forward to the next one ☺️❤️🌻
YOUR LAUGH WHEN YOU LAUGH WITH YOUR BF!!!! It's different. Aww. That just filled my heart with so much happiness. Beautiful :) love your videos always!
I see Wheel of Time on your shelf and felt the need to comment! Thanks for the inspiring video!
I have been watching you for a year now and I am not sure how you have anything to declutter. You are ALWAYS organizing and cleaning. That pantry is a dream and you are the cutest!
Hahaha, I don't really have too much to declutter these days - but things never fail to get messy! I wish they'd stay forever clean. Lots of love girl xoxo
I laughed too hard when Luke popped in behind you at 6:04 😂 also your niece is too cute!!
Got to 6:28 before I had to stop and go declutter something haha thank you for being a constant source of inspiration and motivation!! ❤️❤️
Yees, love that!
I like organizing my pantry per quarter because I feel it gets disorganized quickly, also it acts as a reminder of what you have (& should incorporate into a meal)!
it's so wild that when you watch a persons videos for literally years, they start to serve as a mental crutch (not in a bad way). like i know that if i need to get my life in order, i have an unofficial internet sis who will smack some sense into me. once i start the video i get this immediate feeling of calm like ok i can handle my shet
you do soooooo much for my life and i appreciate you
Oh I need to do a full kitchen declutter soon especially in our tuppaware cupboard. I did our tea/coffee cupboard this week and it feels great having it done.
I just finished taking my organic chem 2 final which had consumed my life for the past weeks since it was cumulative from organic chemistry 1 too. Because of finals I totally neglected my space and it was really getting to me but I forced myself to focus on studying. But now it’s time!! I was sitting here thinking about how I want to be productive and not just slouch around since I’m done and then I saw your video in my subscription box. Perfect timing. I feel motivated!!
I go through my pantry when it gets messy. so maybe twice a year, depends on how much I cook. atm I cook a lot and have a good overview of everything :) thanks for your video, great start into my day
Yesss girl! Can’t wait to declutter all the papers/documents 🙌🏼
I did this with my sister recently and it felt SO GOOD
I absolutely adore your content so happy I found you xxxx
I think once a quarter is a very reasonable frequency to clean the pantry! Keeps spills and crumbs from piling up and attracting pests, allows you to check expiration dates, and you can take inventory of what you have to plan meals for the next week/month/quarter!
I agree, for myself. But i think it does depend on the size of the pantry.
I’m not a ‘big’ cook. I have a meal plan with my main meals on. I cook vegan for me and non vegan for hubby and over time I’ve simplified the meal plan so the core meals re use the same core basics, spices & herbs. I go through my food once a week and pick meals off my plan to use what is in the cupboard. When I recently had to move I used up all my fridge/freezer and a chunk of canned goods in 2 weeks. I would have had nothing to move if I hadn’t bought a bit extra dried because of the pandemic. The meal planning is definitely the key to a manageable pantry 😊
Ha ha as an adult of the group, you do need to go through the pantry every few months. I have some tubs which contain tins and sauces and spares and I never remember what’s in them so I wrote a list - one for each tub and threw the list into each of the tubs. Now if I’m looking for something or doing meal prep or a grocery list I use those lists to know what’s in there without having to pull stuff out - a total game changer.
From an adult. Haha! Rather than have a cleanse once a quarter I find that pulling an item and building a meal around it is better use of food. I committed to a zero waste kitchen last year and that’s a big perspective shift. Maybe give that a go!? It’s helped me loads not to buy stuff I won’t use. I gave a lot of stuff away on Olio too. People will come pick up food you post (app in UK). Even if it’s expired! Half the time the food is still good even if the tin says it’s off. Love your channel. Shared with three ppl already. ❤️🙏
Why don’t you just store away your travel gear in travel suitcases?
Agnieszka that’s a good idea!
Exactly! And there is space on the top shelf of the built-in to place it, if you don't want to store the bag on the floor under the bed.
15 minute decluttering video? aaaah thank you for this gift 💚
I’ve been watching you & your videos for years & never seen you laugh, how cute
Oh that kind of makes me sad! I swear I laugh a lot. Esp when Lukes around. Love that you've seen it now though!
muchelleb oh, sorry I didn’t mean to make you feel sad by what I said 💗
Your videos honestly always motivate me 💃🏾
Love these videos! They make me really productive while cleaning! I have looked through your old ones so many times that I almost know what you're saying in the videos word by word - so am glad to have a new one to put on while cleaning :D
Your space always looks immaculate to me! I love your style its a really peaceful vibe! 😊
As one of the "adult" viewers (lol, made me giggle when you said that). I go through my pantry once every 6 months. This way I can check expiry dates, leaks, spills, crumbs, items I know I wouldn't use for the next 6 months, etc. It is normal to accumulate, especially if you like to cook & bake. You mentioned buying only the amount you need from bulk food stores and that's a great thing to do. One thing I'm mindful of, I use a lot of containers rather than original packaging, is to always keep the expiry date on the container. That way I know what to use first and what's gone off. :)
Great job! Just an idea, get some white paint and paint the bottom of the bricks in the bedroom and the sides of the shelves in the kitchen.
I love when my favorite UA-camrs upload at the same time. Back-to-back awesome content. Love you and your videos Muchelle!
My favorite notification! ♥️
same!
🥰🥰🥰🥰
I'm moving soon and purged so much.
Still have so much to purge and can't wait to declutter as I move into my new home 😁
I feel like this is such a good point: sending so much time at home makes us more aware of and more sensitive to messes. I find a good refresh checklist is: 1. open all windows. Put all loose mats, blankets and bedding through the wash with some fresh essential oil in the rinse: lemon and peppermint for example. Get the laundry going and then dust, vaccum and mop in that order. Mop with a soap or a natural green soap that has a strong, clean sent that linger. This is a lot of work yes but nothing makes a space feel better than a deep clean like that while the place is airing out. It dosent cost anything and is less work than decluttering but regardless of your space a deep clean will reduce dust, make you feel accomplished and sent the space in fresh, clean sent. To finish it off take a shower or a bath . That way everything including yourself will feel clean, new and shiny. This is the vibe we all need. To anyone who feel exhausted or unable: ask a friend to help. Or if you can afford it : hire cleaners to come scrubb you place down. Its really really worth it when you feel overwhelmed or exhausted
Such a satisfying and inspiring watch! 😊😊
Love these videos so much! You always give me motivation to sort my home out 🥰x
I think the smaller the pantry the more often you need to go through it because it gets so full and messy so quickly! I go through mine probably 3 or 4 times a year, go through my fridge every week before shopping and my freezer probably once a month? My mums pantry is 10x bigger than mine she she only goes through it like once a year haha
Makes me want to declutter! Thanks for sharing this post :)
This just inspired me to get back to decluttering! It’s just something I have to revisit regularly, especially uni papers 🙄
Oh my god, could I bother you for a mini review of the koala bedframe /mattress in the future? I'm sick and tired of my bedframe and the koala one seems like a good option but it's definitely a different style of bed, id love to see how you get along with it 😁
This video has definitely motivated to clean around my house 🧽
your channel is my favorite place🌼❤️
Thank you for these wonderful tips
The iPad near the sink gives me anxiety
Same 😂😂
I dont plan on any traveling anytime soon so i decluttered it all!
Hey girl! :D Love you channel! I've been watching these vids since I started business school and I literally couldn't have gotten through it without all of your wonderful tips!
When you said “but the whole house is a bit crooked” I almost died laughing, because that sums up doing improvements to our house. “Is this crooked? Or is it just the entire house being crooked that is messing this project up?” 🤔😂
SHOUTOUT TO THE LIGHTBRINGER SERIES SITTING ON YOUR SHELF! Just when I thought you couldn’t get any more amazing
It may sound silly, but I am from the US and I adore your accent!
Your Pantry turned out beautiful
You should consider some small storage bins to put in those slots under your bed to relieve the visual clutter! Ikea has many sizes but obvs you're probably not going to got to Ikea right now haha
Did you get the big glass containers with the wood tops on Amazon? Are they air right?
'Official Adult TM' here ; yes, going through the pantry on the regular is totally normal. Pantries just get out of hand. I have a large one and it's in need or a sort like once a month.
The # of comments validating this has made me feel MUCH better haha, thank you.
My fav kind of video!!
What command tape did you use?? Or does anyone know what tape is good to use on a leased apartment? So the walls aren’t ruined .. thank you!
☀️ love you girl !!
Inspiring!:D I think how often you need go through your pantry could depend on not only that You ”bring home too much” but how visible everything is. In my current home the issue is it is a cabinett that is deep and dark so things tend to get forgotten in the back. Especially as the shelves on the side that stretch into seeemingly oblivion. I solved it slightly on one of the shelves by putting a big rotating plate (Ikea lazy susan ish) in there so nothing is constantly in the back. All the other shelves is still an issue Though. Going through the pantry regular is just being reponsible unless You live Very minimal and your pantry goes completely empty paycheck to paycheck. Otherwise I mean pantryitem can last a Long time but not Forever plus checking for rodents etc. Eww, my lil sis discovered them flour bugs in her flour bag the other day and those disgusting things can spread plus Ofc you need to buy more flour.
Love this vid, so satisfying!
But I found the DINGS super off putting. At first I thought it was your phone lol
Hey girl, thanks for the feedback! I'll pass it along!
Lovely Luke cameo :D
Where is your Four agreements print from? I love that book!
Society6!
I love that black outfit you wear (jumper in the US lol!). Where is it from? Thanks!
I got that one from Seed Heritage sooooo long ago
muchelleb thank you!
Yes normal to go through the pantry regularly you should see mine😅
You did a really good job 👍💕!
I hate the cold too and I live in the UK so we have crappy weather 99% of the time 🤣
I went to the UK in March last year and I don't know how you guys do it!!! I couldn't handle the cold, but it was such a lovely place to visit 😂You'll have to visit the Gold Coast some time
It's been so nice this spring though :)
muchelleb I would love to come to the Gold Coast! x
Fae Forest Witch yes that is quite true! I shouldn’t complain too much 🤣
lovely video :D what camera do you use for filming? It looks great
Monica and Chandler vibes!
So cute
where is your bedside table from?
Was I the only one seeing Luke sneaking in the back exactly when she says his name? lol 6:05
Can anyone tell me how the style of music in the background is called, like at 7:25 ? I’d love to find a playlist with music like this on Spotify as my cleaning background music!
Yes you need to clean the pantry or organize it every so often. You may be buying too much or not using up your resources, so perhaps think of buying smaller quantities (or in bulk) rather than buy a big bag of kelp? It all comes with time, I'm 52 and still trying to figure it out so don't be so hard on yourself - baby steps !
Luke peeks through in the background!! Hilarious.
The video I needed! How long did this take you in total??
Hmm I think it was an afternoon and a morning! Not too long.
I'm 17, so definitely not quite 1 of the adults watching, but I totally agree, I think panties just get instantly dirty, same with the refrigerator. My mom or I will clean it once and then like 3 days later it is already a disaster. Maybe has something to do with there being 5 people in my family, but still we try and create systems and it's still always a mess. Definitely something to clean at least quarterly.
This makes me feel better!! Thank you, my pantry just can't seem to stay tidy (same with the fridge!)
"muscles" 💪🏽 haha u're so cute 🥰
"you don't use gloves in Australia" sis try living through Ballarat winter hahaha
I could neeeever hahaha
I have decluttered/tidied all my surfaces, only takes 5 minutes to clean my surfaces now 👌👌👌
Wooohooo
I thought someone made pantry labels for you.. pls don't tell me you forgot to use them... 😉😋
They did!! It's on my list 😂
Which tripod?
Did anyone else have a periodically loud ding sound go off? It was cute, but terribly loud, so I wasn’t sure if it was part of the video or maybe just from my phone.
Yup. It is like ”Check” that kinda sounds like get a text or something.
yes! i was looking for this comment to see if i was crazy or if i have a device in this room that's freaking out or something. that was strange.
I don’t think when you called out the asian ingredient from your pantry as disgusting/gross/made a yucky face it was done in a mean-spirited way but please reconsider calling out food or ingredients from other countries like that. Not everything is everyone’s taste but communicating you don’t like something while being more respectful is possible.
I heard you should go through a space tu reordanize it as much time in a year as you access it in a day
Ex. You go in your pantry 3 times a day, you reorganize and clear up 3 time a year
Oooh I like that rule!
Where is your bed from ?
It's a koala mattress!
Thank you. It is really nice looking. Chic and sleek. It is Australia base company. I wonder if they ship to canada
The print on the right is not hung perfectly straight, but the one on the left is straight
I really like your bed
6:04 that reflection...
6:03 Robber! Oh she's filming, I'll come back later.
I hear a ticking noise during the video. Why?
Clean and orgnize my Soviet apartment everyday for better life and boost my creativities !
I've sold like 3 things on Facebook Marketplace.
She is natively Brit or Australian? Just curious as the accent is confusing me.
Question to the "proper adults" in the comments - how old are you? Cause I'm 26 and starting to feel like actual adults are a myth x) (and no I cannot bring myself to claim that I am a proper adult yet)
JessicaBiilor 55. i felt like an "adult" when i finished paying off my student loans!
😍
🥰🥰🥰
when you live in melbourne, gloves are essential.
I thought so!!
