Renovating1940s House Start to Finish

In this video, we will walk you through our own house renovation project. This 1940s house has good bones so we were able to minimize major works to keep the cost down while still knocking down a few walls and moving things around. Great video. I've always found it interesting when people say something is renovated when all they have done is done is paint and put new flooring in. Personally to me a renovation is when you re roof, re clad or re finish the cladding, pull out all the flooring, ceilings and walls linings, fully insulate, re wire and re plumb the whole house. Than put in new flooring, wall linings, lighting, ceilings, heating etc... but I understand cost and resale value are a factor

Lovely new lease of life for this old house. Old houses are the best. In saying that my 20 year old son wants to be a builder. He's had a bit to do with building sites as a child so its not new to him completely :) What's the best and fastest pathway in NZ Josh?
