- Full disclosure: I am not an expert. I know a couple things about a couple things. I want to kind of figure out how to fix these on my own, but I am wide open to input! Watch as I fumble my way through this PSU I want to save!
Use flux on the wig and 420 celsius. Makes things easier.
Thank you!! I will try that next time!
Nice knuckle hair🤣🤣🤣... got to love the solder Wick
You have to give the power supply a load btw plug a fan to it.
Great point. It was a little late in the day. Part 2 will be better!
I have a case of different-sized resistors I didn't give it to Mitch cuz I don't know where it is right now I saw it earlier as I've been living in my basement...😆
Well, there you go! I'll grab those from ya, and then some new life can be given to this PSU!
If You Can Get This Psu To Work You Can Use It In High End PC
I'm hoping I can get it repaired. Hopefully it's just that resistor!
my power supply died just today took apart looks like new inside no problem also my good mother board well it dosent work to that has Ryzen 37x in it bummer i have to use my intel rig but i trïed spare power supplys nothing it just shuts down this is the second power supply to do this after a few years apart weird stuff no idea how to fix cant see anything wrong inside both
They just don't make em like they used to! Check for a hidden bum resistor. I've seen plenty of caps fail, but a resistor? I'd be willing to bet this got surged and that's probably while it got shoved to the recycler!
well the power supply is ok now i tested it ram is ok to ddr4 stuff i think its just the motherboard that is the problem i dont have another motherboard with amd 4 socket so cant test that i think its motherboard though it died just after i bought it they replaced it but ok for last 3 yrs now
@Kriss Bartlett that's so odd! Back in the day, motherboards lasted forever! I mean, all the old crap I pull out always fires right up!
@@urzamaster i got 2 old p4 ones that just wont boot one boots with fan on that is all no video out though but all my old one i got rid of for scrap wish i dident now
@Kriss Bartlett the one with the fan running, I would try and reseat the Proc, swap the memory, and replace the cmos battery. Every time I've had only fans going that's done the trick!
Does your solder iron have a temperature control on it at a certain temperature the solder Wick really works
