Pokémon Battle Tower Locale Challenge - most mainline games from Crystal and up can try this

Here's a challenge I do in Pokémon from time to time to keep my braising and battling skills sharp, and a version of this challenge can be done in most mainline games from Crystal up. It's kind of like roleplaying as a trainer from a specific (randomly generated) locale from the game's region and taking their team to whatever post-game challenge facility to see how well they do. What I do is I compile all the different areas or locales that have different Pokémon living there and randomly pick one to be where my challenger will get their three Pokémon from. Then I catch the first three different Pokémon I encounter, and then raise those three to be the best they can through EV training and move tutoring. Then when they're appropriately trained, usually level 50, I take them to the game's battle facility, i.e. the Battle Tower. Then I can compare runs of the tower with previous teams I created, or you could compare how you did with friends. It's nothing crazy, pretty simple, but it's a straightforward test of your ability to make the best of a randomized team while also staying in line with what a real NPC type trainer from that region might have on their team.
