The reality is that without BMW and its vast resources, Rolls Royce would not have survived. I like the Shadow and Bentley T, which is why I have one.

The interior door handle is so beatiful. And the RHD wipers. This should be a rare car indeed.

The interior of the early Shadow is considered by most enthusiasts to be the most attractive. The introduction of US federal safety standards in 1969 changed several things both internally and externally. The US was RR's biggest market.

Love seeing a Silver Shadow with picnic tables

They were a standard fitment on the early cars, from @ 1969 they became an optional extra. I have the original sales invoice for my 1975 Bentley T1 and the picnic tabes were a £100 extra, the total price with 15% discount was £12,900 which was a huge amount of money then.

You have a vast selection of Rolls-Royce and Bentleys all the time on display. I would love to see your selection one day to buy.

1967 was a transition year for R-R. For the LHD cars, it was the first year that R-R used an American-built TH-400 3-speed automatic transmission. On the 1967 RHD cars, they used the tried and true GM American-designed, R-R built old Hydramatic 4-speed automatic transmission.
Things to look out for is fluid seeping out of the weep holes on the sides of the engine block. If it is coolant, then the upper cylinder "O" rings are leaking. A sealing additive like Bars Leak may remedy that. If it is oil that is leaking then that is the lower cylinder "O" rings which are leaking.
It is better to have a higher mileage car which has been driven regularly than a lower mileage cars which has spent most of it's life sitting in a garage.
Another thing to look out for is the hydraulic fluid system. This system operates the brakes and suspension leveling systems. This system was brake fluid operated and depended on a fluid such as Castrol LMA. Brake fluid itself is corrosive and very flammable. If other than the Castrol LMA fluid has been used or not changed regularly, watch out. You will be in a heap of trouble. There are 2 high-pressure camshaft-driven hydraulic pumps in the chest cover of the engine. There are 2 pressure-multiplier manifolds mounted on the side of the engine block. Each has an accumulator attached to it and these need frequent service, so make sure you know someone who can maintain these before you take a car on like this.

I always look forward to your videos Rodd. I thought I knew quite about about Rolls-Royce cars, but every time I see one of your videos I learn something new. Always interesting to learn how to tell early Shadows apart from "newer" ones! One of these days looking forward to hopefully visiting your showroom. Also - love that color on that sold Silver Seraph behind it!

Lovely motor is that a press car with that 1800TU plate

That is a press car number plate, a particularly well known one, RR had a few TU plates. I have seen Rod use this plate on numerous cars in his showroom.
I doubt very much if was ever a press car. It is an exceptionally nice early Shadow, someone has spent a lot of money restoring it to this condition.
