I have owned 2 Nissan Armada, both were the models right below the Platinum level. My 2007 had over 334,000 miles on it when I sold it for $2700! The engine and transmission still work great. I only sold it because I got tired of it leaking around the sunroof area.
I currently own a 2012 that I bought used over 2 yrs ago with over 190,000 miles on it....it now has more than 273,000 miles on it. Its my daily driver and runs like a Top! I Love the Nissan Armada and truly believe they have been underrated for so long! I'll stand behind the 2007- 2015 Nissan Armadas, as being Very dependable and reliable.
I live in Atlanta area and have used both vehicles as daily driver w/ Uber. I averaged over 200 miles a day because I do long trips to and from the airport netting over 45 miles one way!
I have odometer pix if U don't believe me.
The 5.6L engine is definitely a workhorse and should be given more attention to its reliability in the Nissan Armada. Period!

My 2000 4.6 Ford Expedition is King of SUV's. Currently at 430K and climbing. I only replaced the timing chain and sprockets at 300K only because I felt it was about that time. lol and the transmission quit at 380K, Unbelievable power the engine still had after rebuilding the transmission. Needs paint but that's it.

We have the Lincoln version, the Navigator, 2006 @ 215K. I Changed the plugs and coils @ 165K and didn't break a single plug. I've started purchasing the timing set parts for when I do the chain but, with doing oil change intervals between 3 & 5K miles, it runs as smooth as new with not much in the line of varnish that I can see. For pulling our camper or other trailers, the dynamic air ride suspension makes it the absolute nicest tow vehicle that I've ever owned or driven.
We purchased a very clean 2013 Expedition with 118K with a brand-new Ford engine about a year ago for my wife, so the "Nap-a-gator" * has been passed down to me to play with. (* With the cruise set at 55-65, any passengers will be asleep within 10-15 minutes. Hence, the nickname Nap-a-Gator.)
They both get 19-21-ish mpg on the highway, 13-15-ish around town. Towing, the Navigator gets between 8-12, depending on how big of a hurry we're in. We haven't towed anything with the Expedition yet but it's probably about the same.
The Expedition is Flex-Fuel, so it'll burn just about anything nicely whereas the Navigator takes minimum 91 Octane. Needless to say, the Navigator is a good bit "quicker" than the Expedition, which I like, and she prefers the ride of the Expedition (which feels a bit more like a "Truck" to me, although a pretty powerful truck with a really nice ride).
I don't trust much of anything from Ford after 2013, though. Sometime around 2011, something went squirrely with the company, and they seem to have lost their "Better Ideas". I think that all of the best engineers either retired or died and they didn't really leave much in the line of apprentices behind. Take care!

    Have a 2001 Ford
    Excursion with 423,000
    miles, 7.3 diesel.
The usual repairs, 6 tire change outs, 2 steering wheels, knock on wood,
    no major issues.
    Had 2 loving mechanics
    that were great. Always
5,000 mile high grade oil changes, always plugged in block heater
    under 36 degrees.
    Always started,
    changed batteries twice so far.
    Used to get 17 city,
    22 highway.
    Dropped to 15/20
when they changed diesel to new formula.
    Love "Old Red".
    Saved so many people
    out of ditches and mud,
    hauled big trailers,
    fishing trip to Ohio
with seven guys, each over 260, and 300 lb
of walleye on the bumper rack. A great
road car, couldn't ask for more.
    BTW, I have a Ford 2003
    E150 Chateau van
    with 233K miles.
Two wheel drive, but sure got a lot of work
and fun out of this vehicle. Still running
    great.
    Don't know how to send
you pix of odometer or car.
    Still looks good in spite
    of rust on edges.

Bill I would like to suggest a video topic for you. I shop for cars all the time as a hobby. Your data is consistent with my loose observations. My idea for a topic is where to find these most reliable cars cheaply. I live in Michigan and I shop the usual places like AutoTrader and Craigslist. I use to do auctions and I am always pulling over while driving down the street when I see a good one on the road side. I have noticed that Ohio has cheaper prices for the same cars then Michigan. I have noticed that the rural areas have better preserved cars then the urban areas. Maybe you would consider a list of top ways to find these cars and the nuances that in your experiences one should be aware of? Have a nice day!

My dad has a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban LT 2WD that he bought brand new in February of 2004 and he drives this Suburban every single day, it has been in California its entire life, the current mileage on it is at least 360,000 miles, most of the things in it are original except for the driver's side mirror, the alternator, the driver's side seat, the DVD Player, the glass for the driver side barn door, the factory alarm system, a key fob for a 2000-2002 GM vehicle, and the door panels, the spare tire was used twice, and it hasn't towed a trailer at all, the radio in it is also original and it was hardly used, only 2 hub caps on the driver's side went missing, the steering wheel is original but the controls on it were not really used, the alarm system in it was replaced because the day that my dad attempted to start it, the alarm would go off, but this car is still running strong

I'm going to buy a 2015 Armada in the next few months bcuz I have had No major issues or repairs on the 2 I've owned and I've used them both for Ubering, almost daily with already an average of 120 miles a day....Never left Me stranded, Ever! Since it will probably last 300,000 miles (I keep it maintained--looks new) and I drive about 5,000 a year....this calculates to 240,000 miles left on it divided by 5,000 miles a year which would mean another 48 years of service for my 2011 Expedition. But, I am 73 years old and don't think I will be smelling very good at a ripe old age of 121. I will be optimistic and try to outlive the truck!!

    What a nice list.
I was in the market for a landyacht last year... and as everyone said, that don't buy an american SUV - too big, too thirsty, too this, too that... I stopped talking to those people and bought myself a 2007 GMC Yukon SL, with a 5.3 4wd. So it has almost been a year now, so i can make some comparisons.. First of all, my other car was 2006 Dodge Magnum SXT...
    1. GMC has 7 seats and enough room for cargo.
    2. I needed that big towing capacity.
    3. Pretty cheap to maintain and i have some issues going that do not affect driving (i work as a mechanic).
    4. As I'm in Europe, this car was imported from New York back in 2007, so basically i can say, it has been here since new... It has rust, but not bad. All because of 4 years sitting in a yard, but the frame is good, some cleaning up to do and maybe Cobra or Raptor or Linex for protection.
    5. It has currently 152k mi on it. No noticeable oil consumption, but i keep my intervals low, as the oil filter is only a few dollars and the oil is pretty much free... So i have 3-4000mi interval and no losses, although, it has a small weeping between the engine and gearbox. So i'm preparing myself for a crankshaft rear main seal job....
When i got the car, i replaced the steering rack (rubber boots were broken and all the dirt had destroyed the seals), i replaced both exhaust manifold gaskets (2 day job, to get all the broken studs out), i did a full inspection on the EVAP system, as i have a slow filling problem (i have narrowed my problem down to the coal canister). I removed some auxiliary electronics that i was not very fond of (aftermarket PIN code start for example) and i replaced some bulbs... So far, i can honestly say, the fuel consumption is pretty good, the AFM works and i get about 24-25mpg on the highway and 14-15mpg in the city... a bit more, as we have very cold temperature at the moment, but still - remote start works now perfectly and my GMC is one of few cars that drive off every morning. :) I do have rear A/C cut off, because the lines were broken and corroded. I bought Silverado A/C lines and although i have only front A/C working, the car is still cool in the summer... The rear heater works still, so that's a plus. I cannot really say it has that many problems, i just cope with them. Yes, the Posi-traction rear diff might also be worn, since it only makes onesies, but i have been planning on the rebuild and do both diiffs at the same time.
I did look for a Suburban, but they were pricey and this Yukon came on the market almost half of that and it was instantly a no-brainer - i had to have it!

My 02 Chevy Suburban has 221,000+ miles on it and still runs like a champ. Have a small issue here and there, but for most part, it's a great truck. My cousin's friend's dad had an 03 Chevy Suburban that he bought brand new a few weeks after new year of 2003 and that truck had almost 300,000 miles on the same motor and transmission by the time he sold it in 2019. The only reason he got rid of it was because of the amount of rust. I think Chevy Suburbans are great vehicles to own. Gas can be costly, but still.

@@mercedesbenzs600bash I say go for it! But, I just gotta say a few things first, I will say, in terms of the spark plug issues you've heard about, those are most commonly an issue with the 5.4 L V8 and somewhat with the 6.8 V10. (He's got an '01 and an '02) The 2001 is the V8. So I'd advise just making sure if you buy a gas truck, ask them about the spark plugs and if they say they weren't done, have that be the first thing you look at. All you need is a simple replacement of them.
His 2002 is the 7.3 which is the diesel, and those are a million mile engine if you and the previous owners have taken good care of the truck. Also I'm sure you've heard other bad things about the 5.4 V8... it's not a bad engine at all, it just gets a bad rap because it's sluggish and not as powerful as the others, make it much less ideal for towing. But if you're using this as an SUV (family hauler etc) the V8 has more than enough power. Also the V8s are much more common in 2WD, which if you're towing or in a cold climate is something I tend to advise against. But if towing, cold climate, and a ton of power and torque aren't things that matter to you, any Excursion is a good one.

I bought a 1997 GMC Yukon SLT 4x4, with 162K miles on it for $1,000. Sounds like a steal right. Well, it was, but instantly,I knew that the seller was the stealer, and t was the stealyee. I had just sold my beautiful 2011 Mercedes E-350 sedan fora handsome fee days earlier, because I wanted a rugged 4x4 to camp in, pull this, and drive up over curbs... if I gut the urge, so I was clueless as to what ito look for when buying a car older than my kids. I had zero experience driving, never mind buying an jalopy so the bent hood, the cracked windshield, the grapefruit sized dent/hole under the left taillight,or the air conditioner that absolutely did not work; directly contradicting the sellers fake wife’s absolutely certain assertion that it blows Ivey cold, just 45 seconds prior and just 3 feet away from where I sat, in the drivers seat. Oh and the fact that I had to power down the drivers window to open the door, because the inside handle did not work. In fact, it dangled... While these issues, each a showstopper on its own made me walk, because I reasoned “what do. You want for $1,000. The obvious answer should have been “NOT THIS CAR”... (I mean, some cars, you simply don’t want, for any price).... it was later, after I owned the poor thing, and had the feeling that I had adopted an orpha child:, who had experienced a rough life, that it would. Regain its former glorry or achieve its intended potential if given love and care. With this burgeoning effect ion towards her I started wondered, just how in the Hell done a vehicle get dented and twisted in the weirdest and most impossible places. So I’m quite sure that it was a stunt vehicle for nearby Hollywood action movies. In my mind eye, I can still see it tumbling head over heals from the smashed in front right bumper to the back left grapefruit sized dent/hole beneath the break light above the back bumper, I can see it tumbling down the Embarcadero ... for a Steve McQueen remake.... or something like that.....
Ok.... the stories about registration scam, and the police surrounding my car at the beach parking lot as I returned from the water... because they had an arrest warrant for the previous owner and the car was somehow still registered to him, and how I accidentally ended up in Tijuana with the truck and my antique civil war riffle under the back seat will be for another time....
Ive ultimately done a lot of work to it and it’s really becoming a great truck... I’ll end up keeping it for along time, regardless of what else I might be driving, or what my lifestyle calls for,I can see myself always having it.
