Hello, thank you for the comment, and thanks for watching. We have been flying together for 9 years so we and make it work safely and efficiently. Hope to have more soon.
I grew up in Rostraver Township. The Steelers have always been my team, no matter what. Great flight, Captains and a great landing. Thanks for sharing.
Robert, yes we are diehard Steeler fans, and sad we did not get into the playoffs this year, even with all the talent they have. Like you we are part of the Steeler Nation. Thanks for watching.
My roll autopilot motor went out a few weeks ago, so I have been flying my IFR by hand for recent trips. I would suggest for practice to mix up some hand flown approaches since my skill level has gone way up the last few weeks. Hoping for quick return so can make those long legs a little more relaxing. I tried to make my wife the autopilot, but that didn’t work out.
Logan you are right about the autopilot. Mike and I always hand fly on take off all the way up to the flight altitudes and on landings. We come from the old school and believe in pilot skills and hand flying. We have hand flown entire trips, but mostly short ones.
I believe you answered my request. Basically a unedited flight from start to finish. A perfect flight to do this with to stay current. Liked the annotations also, keep up the good work! BTW nice landing.
Nice flight gentlemen. We appreciate the effort that goes into making and editing the video. Come and visit Costa Rica sometime, I'm in the San Jose area.
Gm, actually my son will be visiting your country next month. Wish I was flying him down but they are going on the airlines. Thanks for your comments and thanks for watching.
Chris Sweetguy Chris, appreciate your comments. Thanks again for taking the time to watch. When we receive nice comments it gives us incentive to make more videos.
Chris, good reply! I actually like to hand fly approaches, since I am old school and think stick and rudder skills are essential. Actually on short trips I often hand fly the entire flight. We always hand fly into the flight levels unless it is a very difficult departure in a busy airspace. I will try and add a hand flown IMC approach. With all the avionics it is easier than with the old steam gauges.
Michael, absolutely we read check lists. Even if we do single pilot we read aloud check lists. We do not record all of them but once before we were asked this question, we published our unedited recording showing all the check lists and call outs. Maybe we should include them every once in awhile for better understanding.
I'm sorry, guess I'm getting too old school and too old. But this was supposed to be a IFR proficiency flight and the autopilot did 99% of the work. Seems like a total waste of time and money. But I still love these videos. I envy them!
B747 guy, Yes you are correct and I agree with you that too many pilots rely too heavily on their autopilot to fly the plane. In fact you cannot dispatch single pilot without a functioning autopilot. At our yearly training they emphasize use of the A/P for more precise execution of the procedures. However both of us do hand fly the plane a lot and I find it easier to hand fly many approaches rather than wait for the box to react to situations. You have more control hand flying which is important when you are low and in the airport environment. Many operators engage the A/P 400’ after take off. We always hand fly way up into the flight levels. In short we both agree with you but many others would take issue of not using the A/P. We both learned to fly using only stick and rudder. Even the FAA thinks there is a loss of normal piloting skills.
I know that in order to dispatch single pilot you need an operational auto pilot. I also agree that being proficient in all aspects of the airplane is mandatory. My text wasn't intended to be negative and I'm glad you didn't take it that way. I really enjoy what you men do and thank you for all your hard work.
Love seeing the kneeboard, I still wear one on trips. Great job flying men.
So cool to see you guys work the cockpit. Very professional, efficient and calm.

Forgot to mention, another great video.

Welcome back best crew in the air
Well that was a very nice comment! Thank you. We try to fly safe but still make it interesting.
Super video

Great video! We took off right before you guys in N525LM. It sure was a great day to practice approaches.
Miles thanks. It was a great day for instrument approaches. Ride along with us sometimes.

Thank you great video, thanks to both of you !
Rene, thank you! I am glad you enjoyed the video. Let us know if we can improve in any way!
I'll fly with you both on any IFR flight in the CJ4
Johnstown Airport is a wonderful airport and the new FBO is even nicer
As always, enjoyed the flight.
Kevin thanks for your comments. Glad you enjoyed the video.
It would be interesting to see some approaches in IMC without the autopilot. :)

Do you guys read the check lists?

Hard to hear you over those fire extinguishers going off. Great video though
Not sure what you mean about fire extinguishers but glad you enjoyed the video.
@@citation80hbflyer38 oh just a bad joke 😁
