You bet! Stay tuned, I'm going to try to get some footage of the conversion process. I'm looking forward to getting it on site. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Hey, right on! I'm pretty stoked, and a little nerved up too. I've had people tell me that you feel secure right from the get go but I still think it's going to be interesting dropping over the edge the first few times on ground I'm leaving for the handfallers currently! May have to pack a few extra sets of underwear that first day! Thanks for the comment, hope you're having a good Holiday.
Copy. I think it will be pretty interesting to see the machine take shape. The learning curve for me will be steep, obviously! But the farm we're on is set up perfectly for it with roads and wood so I'm looking forward to it! Thanks for the comment, hope you had a good thanksgiving holiday.
Hey, thanks Craig. It really seems like a great machine, really dry and tight. Been taken care of for sure. I'm looking forward to having it at the top of the hill! Going to try to get as much time in up at Summit during to conversion to get footage of the work they do to it if I can, I think that will be pretty interesting. Summit is quite an outfit, good people and a really positive attitude. It's going to be a game changer I think! Thanks for the comment!
I have a 350 kobelco with a summit winch and there is 90% of time I wish they had smaller bases cuz of how narrow the rds are now days! I’m curious on why put a thumb on it if it just sits and idles all day winching in and out! Once that line is on there it is a pain in the ass if you wanna use it for digging endless you take the line off the boom and tie it off on the back by the drum🤷🏻♂️
Yeah I'm sure it may be a little big from time to time. We will be able to have the bigger drum set though as a result and more options on gearing and drive motors too so that may give us a few more options down the line. And just to be able to pluck a stump or move some roadside wood easily or scratch out a perch, I'll take an excavator with a thumb on it over one without anytime, even if its just a line machine! I know it will be a learning curve for me but I'm looking forward to it! Thanks for the comment, hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
@@thedailylogger yea it’s a learning curve but I know you will do great! You walk all your units already so that a huge plus! You’ll have to get creative on where you place the base! I always try to place it where I don’t have to get it out and move for different rds! Leave lots of high stumps to side wash around too🤣 I’m In Colton tethering if your in the area and want to check it out
@@wantowski987 Hey thanks josh. Yeah, I know the learning curve will be steep, right? But I'm looking forward to being held onto rather than holding on. I appreciate the offer, wish it was a little easier to take the time. But I'll probably want to ask you for some tips as I stumble along. Thanks again, good cuttin to ya and be safe out there man!
Yeah, she's an animal for sure. I won't be surprised if it feels a little large for some of the mid-slope roads I'll have to wedge her onto, but at the same time I'll be glad to know that she outweighs me once I get confident on the hill!
@@thedailylogger that hill work would make me poop :0 i would need a toilet for an operators seat. Keeper grease side down can't wait to see your set up on the hill good luck.
Thanks! I am really impressed by Summit. For us they are local too which is a terrific bonus. But being started by a logger and being built specifically for logging is unusual and a hugely beneficial component. From what I've heard and been told their attitude is to build what you want, build it stout to begin with and if there is a problem they'll do what it takes to get you going again. Pretty similar to Tigercat, and if you've been watching our videos you know how I feel about them! Glad you enjoy the videos, were planning on keeping them coming and appreciate your interest! Good cutting to ya!
Heck yea and everything is in the cab with you!not in the woods myself but I'm obsessed with iron, and the innovations in the field are mind blowing. Plumber by trade. !🤙🔥
@@adrianhowley7754 I've got the same obsession and I'm in the woods everyday! The technology is pretty awesome. Well, glad you're enjoying the vids, stay tuned and we'll keep them coming your way.
That’s a hell of a big tether machine!!!

I’m gonna enjoy watching the process ! I have not had the opportunity to tether cut so will appreciate you taking us along for the ride.

Cool project Jason, be neat to see you learn this side of the job

Thanks! It'll be an adventure I'm thinking, especially there at first. Good to hear from you, hope you had a good holiday. Be safe.
Wow nice machine Jason. Sure look forward to watching as you convert this machine to tether machine
All the best Jason
