iFootage Shark Slider Nano: The Best Small Motorized Slider I've Used

  • Ifootage send me the Shark Slider Nano, and it is easily the best small motorized slider I have ever used. This camera slider is incredibly easy to use fast and simple to setup but gives you a LOT of options on how to compose a shot and the kind of footage you can get out it. It's small compact, portable and fits in tight budgets with a price of $500.00. iFootage has clearly spent a lot of time refining the user interface because the shark slider nano is a breeze to operate. It's quite durable as well. I've carried this slider in my backpack for the last month or so and it has performed perfectly every single time I have used it. When it comes to sliders they can add some fantastic tools to your story telling. You can use the shark slider nano for product b-roll to add motion to a static shot or for a b-camera setup on interviews and of course motion time lapses. All of these are situations where the iFootage Shark Slider Nano excels!

    Hi Jake and thanks for a really impressive review. I've ordered one that hopefully arrives tmro so I can play with over the holidays. A quick couple of questions if you have time, in your kit list on your website you list a Peak Design Travel Tripod, yet in your video you're using a iFootage tripod. What iFootage tripod is it, does it have a specific head you're using and which of the two tripods works best for you with the Shark? (that was 3 questions ☺) Thanks and keep up the good work.

    • @JakeSloan
      @JakeSloan  2 роки тому +1

      It doesn’t have a tracker so timing is really about figuring it out lol. The good thing is you can have it repeat the moves so you can get a few takes without having to reset.

      @@JakeSloan The astro is what I am worried about the most as it will take quite a bit of time and you only get to know after.
      I have been trying to avoid a star tracker. The calibration aspect of a star tracker just seems too complicated when it comes to doing it in the middle of nowhere, dark and even worse if it's freezing cold. That in itself takes a good 20 mins if you really know how to go about it in ideal conditions. Basically, destroys the creative mood with the technicalities 😃

    • @JakeSloan
      @JakeSloan  3 роки тому

      for interviews it should work ok. The tripod and slider will be a good combination, the only thing that you might find you will need to do to get the best performance is getting the camera center of gravity with that lens on the slider set right. I've noticed that if a setup is really front heavy the slider will struggle but if I move the same setup back (using a long arca Swiss plate) to where It is more balanced then it does better. I hope that makes sense.
