Nice to see inside a Chinese car assembly plant. It is remarkably clean.
And brighter too compared to dull and dark western plants especially America.
@@DK-ev9dg Vauxhall in Ellesmere Port in the UK is a miserable place to work. I know, I worked there.
@@MightySteve001 Same in a Toyota car manufacturing plant (used to work in one when I was a student during summer holiday breaks). It's a lot brighter than a Ford plant in Geelong (Australia) but still not as good as what Lee Barrett has shown.
@@George-rj4fj At Vauxhall, we had a common say, don't buy a car that was made on Friday. You can probably guess why.

China car and truck industry is amazingly impressive. Modern technology stylish reliable efficiency affordable. China technology is a blessing to the world. Well done China ❤🇨🇳
If you like , you can take some of these cars home for free and share your bed with them.
China has moved up her manufacturing base from low end to high value high quality products which is truly remarkable! Thanks for your informative video.😍
That transition is far from over but yes that's typically what happens when an economy reaches upper middle income
And achieved so fast!
It's amazing to witness!
you are so obviously not western. like, at least learn how we speak if youre going to be a shill....
They are actually trying to still keep a certain level of low value add products manufactured at home. They do not want to be reliant on other countries - it's obvious where that has led the US.
Yep, lived there for a while, it's truly a great country and technically advanced to all western countries.
China took western technology and expanded on it.
It's good that you left. 😂

Another great factory tour. 😊
NIO is fantastic
Hi Barrett. Great video as usual. Thanks for highlighting life and developments in China with facts. 👍
Where is Olly though ?
I love seeing the manufacturing of vehicles. Thanks for sharing Lee. Cheers from Australia.
Unfortunately, car manufacturing left Australia years ago
Very GOOD
Fascinating tour of the JAC truck factory in Hefei; China. Thanks Lee.
NIO is one the best vehicles build in China. NIO has bought their factories from JAC a few weeks ago and is now building their own vehicles. NIO sells their vehicles in China and in Europe so far! Hopefully they will come to the US soon.
I would like to see the XPeng Guangzhou factory where the G6 is manufactured.
Complete supply chain, solid transport infrastructure, stable energy and access to a huge domestic and wider Asia-Pacific market
Globalization, free trades, and open markets were put forward by Western countries, so they can enjoy low labor costs and market domination by pushing their over-priced goods and services on developing nations. What they didn’t foresee or expect was that any developing nation would have the ability to develop and overtake their superiorities. Now for those nations were once a strong believer of globalization, free trades, and open markets ideologies had turned to tariff wars, sanctions and national security threats.
Absolutely. The Western governments haven’t invested for decades in their own people or developing industry. It’s heartbreaking, but it’s their economic policy.
Racism
American economics. Let other people do the hard work to make the stuff. Americans will do the consuming.
@@jeff6161 not to forget they bought the stuff for free as they ;paid them with their printied fiat currencies
They can't compete and they know it that is why they resort to dirty tactics, unfair sanctions, vilification etc.
Japan's Toshiba and France' Astrom are two examples.
Like what Trump did during his stay in the white house...

Mr. Barrett, I've been following your channel for a few years now and I've found that your visit-to-factory videos seem to be much more informative & much more interesting than any other areas you've covered so far. Perhaps, this could be your niche and you might want to concentrate more on this area. This is only my opinion - you might choose to ignore it.
I love doing factory videos as my background is engineering, however not so many opportunities for visiting factories come up. When they do I'll be at the front of the line to attend.
You have Engineering background, no wonder you are able to give right information to your audience. Thanks and keep on doing good works.

My favorite type of Video
Those massive factories so clean and well organised. These videos are interesting and informative, as well as the travel ones. If I go to a new city, I sometimes go in a group, to see places I wouldn't otherwise know about, but enjoy the temples and museums and shopping markets. I collect Chinese stamps and always look for the markets-our local one in Jinan, sells them at around 1 yuan each, with more expensive rare ones also available. Currently looking for pre 1950 post cards for a friend.

Not just manufacturing, they can't even beat the repair sector. When something breaks in the US, they replace the components. In China, they can actually repair it instead of replacing it. So if a chip is bad, they put in a new chip instead of replacing the whole entire board.
No! We also replace, because for us in a big manufacturing country, the cost of manual maintenance is more expensive than replacing a new one!
@@袁永鑫I have seen the repair shop in China. They were soldering chips on TV. You must be thinking computers and other stuff.
Here in New Zealand we gave up repairing parts 40 years ago , I went through the change. Only parts we repair is heavy section frames etc. In diesel injection systems we replace parts
In this truck plant it's still very primitive and I see no anti corrosion treatment for body components and panels.
@@conmanumber1The problem is repairing means existing parts (some still good) going to the trash. If we continue throwing things away, we are destroying the planet. Otherwise, we should all drop the recycling BS and let trash continue to build.
This video is just a brief overall tour of the factory. What is not shown does not mean they don't have.@@conmanumber1

Don’t forget that the actual production line itself, the robots, the control systems, motors, drives etc etc were also mostly made in China. They might have a western brand’s logo on them but they were made there.
The blue Nio sports cars is amazing ,,
lol that catch fire CONSTANTLY
Oh look, they are making sensibly sized trucks that are actually useful and efficient and not the monstrosities that Americans buy to compensate for their small ding dongs.
It is amazing how modern technologies can do in nowadays
From what I read, NIO is not part of JAC. NIO is partnering with JAC for the manufacturing of their vehicles.
Correct about JAC, I would imagine Geely factory would be more advanced because they just have more $$$ to invest 😊
GO NIO !
China is admirable indeed.
Not noisy on top of being clean and orderly

Like the idea of swapping new battery. Perhaps they could calculate the difference with the remainder charge still available in the old battery and pay accordingly. That will like pumping at the petrol station for this case instant charging.
Incredible and great china
im sure they produce the cars for the NIO brand - its an upmarket brand of EV if you have not heard ....oh nevermind , igot to the the part now 😊😜😜

@@Warhead-Vunso you don't want to reunite with Taiwan?

I own a Petrol MG ZS SUV in Australia with a retail price of $22990 Aus and has a seven year warranty. It is very good value for money and has good fuel economy. The cheapest EV in Australia is a Chinese Cherry SUV at around $37000 Aus.
Guess how much of that Cherry SUV $37,000 was paid to the Australian Government in taxes before Labor recent changes in FBT for EVs? Australians pay too much for vehicles - EVs and non-EVs - in taxes and other "incidentals" when the base purchase prices back in China are a lot less but their landed price is inflated hugely by the time the vehicle hits the show room.
Oh my god!!!!!!!😢

NIO 😍
FYI JAC sold all their factory assets to Nio a few weeks ago and Nio is the sole manufacturer of Nio cars now!
Not all, JAC only sold two factories to NIO.
After that, JAC still have his own factory.
Yes of course not all their truck factories. Just the Nio factories F1 and F2
Chinese cars are becoming next level high end machines.
We have competed before, and we will be able to compete again in the future. We cant at the moment.

Well said and agree. Not just that the west can not comete with China. It because they don't have the best manufacturing in their countries. Plus theirown people don't really want to work harder enough. But keep continue asking more wage and more benefit. Even they are already got high pay. This why the biggest different from Chinese people & Western people.
Everything is so clean, I remember my Grand dad when he worked for Ford, came home with oil all over him..lol

Once the convenience of battery swapping becomes a reality and common place I'll switch to electric. Thanks for the insight Lee.
Will you be going to NIOs new Plant?
I am amazed at how visitors to the truck factory are allowed to record videos of the internal parts of factory, that is, the actual production lines. I worked in a factory before, and visitors to the factory were strictly prohibited to take any photo or video of the production facilities.

The NIO EV cars look very nice. I like it very much.
NO...drive like Flintstones style, use your legs to paddle...Very GREEN and better than EV !
EV for $15K is dirt cheap
Let's see if the US even comes close to it.
@darkcloud5830 $85k is pretty close for US...
Japan and Korea may be the closest at $25k but they will be bleeding $$$ if any cheaper...
China just has the cost advantages due to supply chain... period 😊
@@nelson2020You know the cost of the vehicle is not the only price you have to pay. There is interest since hardly anyone has that much in cash. Insurance is not cheap. I don't know about maintenance on EVs. Then I see all these people that bought a Tesla, they don't even have a garage to park in. I am not sure if it is worth it in the US.
chinese 'fuctories' are so highly automated
i believe Nio is buying these factories off of JAC
Chinese workers are more affected hard working ,willing to work overtime .
You're talking about low-end manufacturing. High-end manufacturing is not like that. And low-end manufacturing is finding it harder to recruit workers.
Competition DNA and afraid if you don't do it others will... it is the Chinese DNA.

JAC Motors is owned by JAG INTERNATIONAL (CHINA) LIMITED, a private company. JAG is in turn 50% owned by Volkswagen. NIO's biggest shareholders are the who's who of large US & UK investment funds. BYD major shareholders included many foreign investors, famously Berkshire Hathaway ( BRKb ), the conglomerate led by Warren Buffett, owned as much as 39.9% of the issued voting H shares. So if Chinese EV make money, foreign investors make money. "De-coupling"? Just political hot-air from American politicians.

Lee, in that view at the beginning of the video, is that fog or pollution in the air?
How is that your business?
I am just curious. I'm not saying anything good or bad about it. And how is my question any of your business?
It is probably fog. We have recently returned from a trip to China. We found it gets foggy some days in the morning and late afternoon, depending on how close the city is to the rivers. It usually clears by the late morning and middle of the day.
@@Tube4mj Thanks, that’s what I thought too but you know how some critics are always saying that China has a big pollution problem. I think China is far ahead of the west in cleaning up their environment and they are leading the world in green technologies.
