Thank you
Have a blast! You two deserve it!
Are you boys ready for a taste of dnb
Need some 90's love doves tbph 🔥
Get some Shy Fx in your life boys. Loving the DnB content, from an old old head. Shy had some radio shine but is just as old school and prolific. Similar vibe too.
ray keith - chopper remix would be a good shy fx one to start with. Although i have a funny feeling these guys prefer lyrics so maybe something with T-power
Big ups both suggestions here. They need some Congo Natty too.
Came here to recommend shy fx 💯
Mate. Iration Steppas and Shy FX at Leeds West Indian centre in i dont know what year, what a night
Shy fx warning would be a good one for these boys
Sidenote: Sub Focus is another INSANE legendary DnB artist. Some great tracks!
another excellent call, x-ray on
Great artist!
Sub focus older stuff. Him and dimension are like the happy hardcore of dnb at the moment. Mega cheese
Sub focus, dimension and culture shock live set
@@tuberantz4676 Imo if the production is good and it makes you wanna dance, then you're doing it right lol. Both of them are still going hard for that reason. Whether you think it's cheese or not, that's entirely your opinion 👊👊

Etherwood & Hybrid Minds on 🔥.
How you have the strength to pause this tune once it starts is genuinely beyond me! 😂😂😂
Chase and status are deffinetly up there , another pioner of DNB you might not have heard is a group called Pendulum and they are from Australia check out tracks like "hold your color" or "Blood sugar" Also Russians are mad for DNB and Russians go hard if you really like the Genre. There is a UA-cam channel called UKF wich is like the meca for DNB , Dubstep and other electro music.
Watercolour was also a banger when they dropped it 🔥
Pendulum were the only thing that came close to competing with chase and status when considering 'group v group'. Of course there were numerous other djs and producers smashing it and still smashing it but no-one really offered the same experience, apart from pendulum the closest was Nero imo despite being more electro/dancefloor dubstep.
Chase and status no way near being pioneers of dnb
NO Australian is a pioneer of Drum n'Bass which is a wholly UK genre for many race & political reasons. Pendulum took & did what they wanted to do with this genre MUCH LATER IN 2002, 20 YEARS AFTER it was created in the UK, they could never be called pioneers for goodness sake. Please watch this doc to know your history ua-cam.com/video/5uzZB0yqHeI/v-deo.html
@@london9372 I didn't discover dnb 40 years ago but 25 and they were one of the biggest artists for dnb at the time. Calm down haha
SHY FX
And he's just dropped new stuff!
Spot on g
Check out the Red Bull soundclash with Chase & Status/ Rodigan / Shy Fx (Rebel Sound) vs Boy Better Know
Quick rundown on the DnB remix vs original thing… the best way to put it is if this was a remix it would have been called “IRAH- program (chase and status remix)” but if it’s got a Feat XYZ, then it’s an original track.
Ps, remix can be replaced with mix, edit, vip… words like that.
A VIP is different to a remix.
A VIP is 'variance in production' always done by the original producer and is a slightly different version of the original track.
A remix is usually done by another artist of a track from a different producer
@@tuberantz4676I’ve always wondered what VIP stood for in this case.
I dunno if it’s just me but Variance in Production sounds a lot like a fancy ass way to say remix.
@@AMillar1 VIPs sound too similar to the original to be a remix
TUNE, still want to see a reaction to Chase & status - No problem
to answer you question, I am not sure anyone beats them at the moment but before them was prob Pendulum as the king (pop DnB) one an only time I saw Pendulum live was in a club, it was so packed me and my friends nearly got crushed to death... ended up getting kicked out for fighting against the crowd. One mate even fell down the stairs lmao.
They HAVE to react to Pendulum next!!
I saw Pendulum @ Digital in Newcastle just as Hold your colour was hitting , the 4 of them did a hour set each , all used different genres of music , it was immense
@@AndreRQL remember tarantula?
@@R3ED3R Of course mate! I've been requesting a reaction to Tarantula for ages now 🤣 Went to see Pendulum in my country (Portugal) last year and they played Tarantula. The mosh pit was fucking nuts 😂 Everyone went crazy. Mad scenes
Actually started listening to pendulum again after this video... just finished listening to 'Fasten your seatbelt'
Ed Rush & Optical will always be the number 1 duo/group, then the likes of Chase n Status, Pendulum and Origin Unknown... Side note, Chase n Status won the "Stevie Hyper D life time achievement award a few weeks ago, which is big. Stevie Hyper D (r.i.p) was/is and will always be the greatest dnb MC of all time, you should look him up.
Guys, now that you're back on the DnB train, you HAVE to react to Pendulum - Halo, or Pendulum - Tarantula
These guys are one of the BIGGEST bands in the DnB genre, absolute legends in the field. Their music is some of the best in the genre! 🔥🔥
Oh such a good call (I'm from Perth so of course i'm partial). Go way back and give me a Vault reaction :p
was just saying that!
it is very poppy though if you are into liquid dnb and rock maybe
When i was young I didn't like drum and bass,
Pendulum and C&S changed everything
@@sac5608 is Pendulum liquid though? liquid is stuff like etherwood and london elek
The songs/beat is by the DJ with the Emcees spitting their names are called Dub Plates.
UK GOAT of dubplates = David Rodigan. Guy broke Jamaica being a white man from the countryside in UK. Proper legend. Even gas Bob Marley dub plates from way back when.
Rodigan = True UK icon 🔥
Check out some old Rodigan clashes - he's the don.
Uk king of sound clash !!!! Legend !!!
chase and status defintely at the forefront of releasing album size releases of original music for sure, not to say there isnt others (sub focus is absolutely up there), theres definetely some fantastic DJs out there releasing banger EPs, if youre looking for great DnB music videos to react to defintely check out some of the Delta Heavy or dimension Music videos, always well produced and heaters of tunes

Ooo its a good list, I feel DJ Marky - LK needs to be in there for the beach vibes
@IndiNiall. added it bro... I just chucked that list together quickly. I was obviously trying to avoid stuff they have already heard on here.
@@IndiNiall. LK is an awesome summertime tune!
@@IndiNiall. added Barcelona as well just to give more beach vibes :)
if one person gets a new tune out of this it will be worth it to me :)
Mates, both of you are super chill. Awesome vibes!
I especially love the fact, that you're exploring D&B right now and express the same feeling i had, when i did!
I would love to share so much music with you.
I use the chance and highly recommend to listen to:
- Launch Urbandawn Remix - Crissy Criss
- High Note - K Motionz, Emily Makis
Maybe i got ya with those ;)
"More Than Alot" is Chase & Status's best album. You've yet to react to any of the tracks from there. Most notably "Take Me Away," "Pieces," & "Smash TV."
If you want a more chilled dnb... try Hybrid minds.
You will definitely like Noisia if you like Chase & Status as well.
Sade - No Ordinary Love ( LSB Bootleg) is a must listen to. One of my all time favourites. If you don't love it, you don't love dnb 😊
Chase and status - duppyman
You guys would live that track and its a monster
looks like Hamdi is also playing at the show, youre going to have a great time
that will be interesting for them abit of 140
You boys need to check out Kenny ken he’s been at the game for 35 plus years great producer /DJ. Loves ragga/ reggae jungle sound. A pioneer who inspired chase n status with his sound style.
Every Chase and Status song recently is absolutely class. You should check Badadan. I remember they played the Waggon and Horses in Wolverhampton when they first started out about 20 odd years ago.
Chase & Status certified legends! Don't see many touching them today there are only 4 current artists/bands i look forward to new projects from Chase & Status, Ren, Ocean Wisdom & Muse 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I suggested this one when you first reacted to chase and status! Glad you got to it! Love from UK
NOISIA. There's no one else more consistent over the years than them. Chase and Status generally play it safe. NOISIA defined a sound and a genre and were generally pushing acceptable noises and beats throughout their career. Unfortunately retired as a group kind of recently bit their label still goes strong. They have been a huge influence on the dnb scene.
They did 2 great records with foreign beggars !!!!
No problem from Chase and status is one you have too do!!
Also any Sub Focus, Bad Company UK, Shy FX
Mampi Swift so many
Loads of comments about Pendulum being legends in the scene, which is . . . a bit surprising, ngl. But if they like that commercial stuff then Rudimental, DJ Fresh's hits, and maybe Brookes Brothers would be ones to recommend. Presumably Wilkinson's Afterglow has already done the rounds on the channel?
Yeah mate. Pendulum are deffo not legend status in dnb.
They're still not forgiven by the scene for what they said about drum n bass when they got commercial success.
I remember at one drum and bass awards in Birmingham they won a top award but didn't turn up to collect it and when they were announced as winners the entire place booed them
@@tuberantz4676 Yeah, it's like when you read anything written by someone who wasn't there and isn't in the scene, and you just think, that's just not right. Like it could make sense on paper, but there's no understanding. DnB is quite niche, I could easily get too snobby about it . . . I've got no objectivity and too much nostalgia, innit.
Sub Focus and Wilkinson are both pretty big here in the UK. But they incorparate less hip hop artists I think that is what set CaS apart from other artists.. ShyFX, Pendulum, High Contrast, Etherwood are worth checking out.
This song right here, my neighbours loved soo much the police wanted to come in and listen lol.
Apparently, the bass mixed with the song rattled their TV off the wall. lool
Damn I remember when this album came out, I was straight bumping this joint non stop 🥶🥶🥶🥶
Fellas, get onto High Contract. Legendary DJ. Songs “If we ever” and “Racing Green” are epic.
We produce Drum N Bass tracks from scratch just like a hip hop beat and then we'll hire folks to do the vocals. The sound designing elements of drum n bass has room for more than one person to create the tracks. In this case Chase and Status are both the producers and engineers of the track. When they perform, they may perform together or separate using a DJ rig and an MC to hype the crowd. It's rare that the person performing the vocals will be present at any live performance. You watched Chase and Status live at the boiler room. Saul Milton (Chase) is DJ-ing and Status is not there yet it's considered Chase and Status.
Hey Beers & Bars dudes, love your DnB reactions. You have to cover and discover these guys and this link. Ragga Twins: The Music shelf session. You loved General Levy - you'll appreciate this....maybe
Shy fx, Pendulum, dillinja and Subfocus are good places to start with a DNB journey.
You can’t appreciate the genre until you experience Pendulum-Tarantula
Hazard, D*minds - Mr Happy though. Corner stone tunes
Junglist since 1994 here. On your own, or on the channel, you should go through (in order) LTJ Bukem (anything 90s, Logical Progression), some ragga jungle (DJ Mr. Freeze mixes on YT), Goldie (Inner City Life), and Dieselboy (System Upgrade album). That'll give your ears an incomplete-but-very-helpful back ground and I guarantee you'll get 30-40% more out of every DnB track you listen to moving forward because of it. Thanks for supporting Drum & Bass!
Some stuff on reinforced records’ Tom and Jerry ‘ moving shadow ‘ science ‘ no u turn ‘ dread recordings ‘ sour ‘ emotif ‘ chronic ‘ Philly blunt !! There’s loads of old stuff they should cover!!!!
@@RobertMunro-wb6jb RRRRRRESPECT!
Camo and Krooked - Sientelo, Culture Shock - Breath, Pola and Bryson - Be there, Upgrade - Steady
friction, high contrast, general levy and DJzinc are a few suggestions
They make tracks individually and then mix them live sometimed the guys/gals appear live depending on the gig... but them mixes are live and sponteneous 😊
There's only one above Chase & Status: Noisia. Checkout Noisia - Shellshock ft. Foreign Beggars. They were the kings of the bass music game for 22 years. Pioneers. They've disbanded now. Also give Audio and Killbox a squizz.
Back in the day Jungle started from reggae samples being added to old skool hardcore tunes. This direction for hardcore starting around 93 evolved in to jungle (then later drum n bass)
The first concept of jungle and drum n bass definitions actually came from The Prodigy with their first album The Prodigy Experience in 92. Obviously sound wise the track Out of Space had that heavy reggae vibe, but 2 other tunes actually helped to coin the names of the genre:
1. Ruff in the Jungle Bizness
2. Charly (Trip into Drum and Bass)
This was 92 before Jungle or later Drum n Bass existed.
While I don't like the later commercial direction Prodigy took (a bit like Chase and Status have done) , they absolutely defined the genre(s) to this day over 30 years later.
NOISA - Shellshock seriously, Sub Focus, Ed Rush & Optical, Dieselboy, Bachelors of Science, London Elektriciy, the list goes on. there is way to many to name lmao but yeah start there and with the comments.
Shy FX, DJ Hazard, A.M.C, Tantrum Desires, Original Sin, Andy C .. i can go forever with the ppl who can Match Chase & Status in The DnB Scene
Knew you'd like this one 😁 check out Sub Focus for sure they are always in the Mainstream UK Charts these days along with many others. Drum and Bass is huge over here, not just for raves . Hope you enjoyed the show !!
In terms of other DNB artists, for me it's Black Sun Empire, Noisia that come to mind from memory. BSE is probably one of my faves.
Drum and Bass started at the end of 80s early 90s. As far as I remember the first release of the genre was Rebel MC and at that time the genre was called Jungle Music who was essentially DnB with ragga muffin singers/toasters. The name changed when the music became instrumental
I recommend to check out Metrik - Parallel, the buildup, the drop... it hits different
This is the first chase and status song I ever heard way before I actually checked out some more of their stuff, dope song and glad you guys like it 😄
They'll be together at the show swaping decks as they go along , it will be a banger , enjoy chaps
Sometimes DnB artists remix songs, sometimes they hire vocalists. Koven - Chase the Sun is a good example of a remixed tune.
Edit: Dimension is an artist who could be said to be one of their top competitors. Chase and Status really do be at the top for quality and consistency.
Have you listened to Chase and Status - Blind faith? Was a huge tune here.
Both chase and status will be there at the show mate.
I would definitely put A.M.C and Turno in the top tier DJ's currently, a lot of their collaboration producing on tracks have been fire as well. Check out the VIP mix of their track Ice Cold.
As for your question regarding using artists or samples with DnB, check out the Rebel Sound (of which Chase & Status are part of, alongside SHY-FX) Redbull Sound Clash video from 2014.
There is a separate 14 minute Rebel Sound documentary of the crew explaining how a clash works & getting well known tracks 'updated' with the original artists/vocalists to feature new lyrics that include directs at the sound clash opposition. This is done in super secret like circumstances ready for the stage battle between different crews (of varying genres within the street sound). To be honest, it may be better to watch this first.
This is only one example of how DnB uses featured artists but definitely an avenue that is hella fun to see & hear.
When you come to watch the main Rebel Sound - 4 Rounds culture clash video, I would advise not to skip any of it as you will miss out on many great dub plates aimed at A$AP Mob, BBK & Stone Love (the other clash opponents that particular night).
Break it into a double video maybe or even run a series featuring round by round with the other crews.
It truly is one of those once in a lifetime events though and I think you will have massive grins all the way through.
I wouldn't say Turno but A.M.C is the best DJ there is right now - his boomtown set will be a different gravy. I wouldn't say A.M.Cs producing is the best in the game though
@@ThanksProdigy I'd agree, I meant to put it that way. A.M.C as current S tier DJ. In terms of production, you are right, not as matched as his deck skills although I do think his team up work with Turno is quality.
ua-cam.com/users/liveLxQxY3Imj2s?feature=shared
Pendulum is also legends of DNB, I recommend checking out "Tarantula"
Just like a load of other comments: Pendulum are a long standing LEGEND in the D&B/Jungle scene - the song "Masochist" by them is one of their best imo. It's old, but gold.
Alix Perez, Enei, Amoss, Monty, QZB, Total Science, Sub Focus, Skeptical, Data 3, Grey Code, Shy FX, Bladerunner, Break, Quadrant, DRS...
As you are on to dnb groups, I suggest you check out Pendulum. They had a fair few years at the top of the dnb scene. Produced a hell of a lot of good dnb tunes. Also Bad Company were another goated dnb group.
listen to the redbull culture clash sets they did years ago they performed as REBEL Sound which was a mix of Chase and Status, Shy FX, David Rodigan and a few others, dropping Dub plates from artists they had worked with aimed at Boy better know and ASAP rocky who were there, think rap battling but they reworked songs they had made
A song you should check out is 21 seconds by so solid crew haa the same roots of chase & status and american hip hop and give you a good start of the genre
Being there when they dropped this live for the first time was insane, I get chills when I'm taken back to that moment
More chase and status reacts are sick. So glad to hear you're seeing them perform, try get some clips!! 🔥
Drum and bass is appreciated even more when a good DJ is mixing the different tracks so sets are what you will need to watch to fully get what it’s trying to do. Then adding MCs on-top of the sets also adds another level it all depends what you prefer
Elite Drum and Bass
Chase and Status make songs they do remix or sample but they mainly hake songs! Check out dj hazard that’s proper drum and bass
All i need to also add, Devilman - Drum and Bass father. :) Anthem, might wanna watch it before if you are worried about language tho.
Some other drum n bass bangers to check out: high contrast - remind me (high contrast jungle remix)…slam - pendulum, hot blooded - rené laVice, hope - fourward, camo and krooked - ember
dnb legends?
ray keith, nicky blackmarket, dj ss, dom & roland, kenny ken, sonz of loop de loop era, 2 bad mice, omni trio, cloud 9, e-z rollers, shy fx, ed rush, bad company, evol intent, technical itch, dieselboy, konflict, doc scott... and more
I wouldn't really say anyone is rivalling Chase And Status, they are definitely the biggest DNB artist at the moment. Some other legendary artists for you to check out: Bru C, High Contrast, Wilkinson, Sub focus, Dimension, Pendulum, Rudimental.
Andy C is always at the top of my list. Unless you're talking purely producers, then fair enough
@@Mistake_Not Andy C too! I was only listing ones of the top of my head
For pop music maybe, not real drum and bass tho
@@michaelrichardson2418 I think we found a hater... define REAL DnB
If you're talking DnB as a whole I'd say there there's a lot of competition to C&S as the best, they're quite commercial. I'd recommend checking out Camo and Krooked - an Austrian duo who imo are running the scene with their releases and also their label Modus' releases.
Check out Camo and Krooked - Sientelo. No music video but a highly regarded song.
(Also Pendulum as everyone else has said is a must, legacy greater than C&S just not stayed as relevant commercially like them.
Check out NOISIA. They retired recently, but are absolute legends. Especially when it comes to sound design.
They do both there own tracks and remix’s
best regards from Poland
Have you guys done one of the originators yet? Goldie. The Don.
they have done one Goldie tune i think i can't remember which
Inner city life I think, they have done some other metal heads too

@@ExTAzY101concert?? D'n'b ain't no concert, they goin raving 🫡
@@andrewcoulson2375 yeah back in rave days now you see them perform mostly at festivals which all sell t shirts. Last one I went to personally was prodigy last year if you can call them dnb and that was definitely more like a concert venue not a rave.
@ExTAzY101 I get what you're trying to say but it ain't no concert, even if you're raving in a concert hall👍
You need to check out pendulum propane nightmares or tarantula out. They do a sort of drum and bass cross dance cross metal. All played on instruments.
Imogen Heap - Headlock (High Contrast Remix)
Not sure if anyone said this already but when chase and status started out they were remixing original jungle and reggae songs and for this album return 2 jungle they actually went to Jamaica made the reggae jungle with a bag of different artists new and old then remixed the songs from them records like they used to, there’s a short documentary about it they made to accompany the album called return to jungle documentary, worth a watch
Also meant to say dancehall songs
Top comment here. The production of that album is classic.
@@SirRealist yeah it’s brilliant what a full circle moment to actually go out to Jamaica and make the tuned you used to remix and then remix em again
You wanna go back further dj hype was a dnb monster and a lot of his stuff is used by lots of djs and dnb groups his original version of TARANTULA is amazing
Chase and Status are definitely near the top of the DnB game right now, but they are far from the best in the scene IMO. Badadan got them lots of exposure so they are definitely the "face" of the genre right now.
I think y'all should listen to some more full sets to get a proper feel for DnB and Jungle. I highly suggest giving Nia's set a listen. She plays a good mix of older jungle, newer tracks and some baaaaaaadboy dubs like the Tempa T edit...

Anything on hospital records is good, sub focus is an amazing dj and has loads of heavy tunes/eps. My old flat mate was at university with him in Guildford. We had some very good night back in the day(now 43). There was true players night every month at a club called farbric in london. Dj Hype (your love his scratching) dj zinc, pascal and more and room 2 would be hip hop like taskforce, Thommy Evans, Roots Manuva. Good times and plentiful class a on the go 😂
Hospitality night were unreal.
Break (of Symmetry Records) is right up there with Chase and Status in DnB for me.
I really want you guys to make a discord so we can send you links. So many remixes in this genre..
You need to check out chase & status this moment next
Followed you lads since the first dnb song you reacted to. My personal favourite from Chase and Status is "Retreat 2018". I heavily recommended to give that a listen.
Listen to - If we ever by high contrast (unglued remix) and remind me by high contrast
Chase and status are so good at catching hype, when this album come out the dubstep scene was popping off so they added it to dnb. Same for jungle thier return to the jungle album and jump up and 2 ruff
Sub Focus and Pendulum are two other legends in the DnB genre. Definitely recommend checking them out!
No way you did this after me asking 1 millions times!! Thank you!
Nobody rivals C&S for D&B or for pure heavy beat drops
Hybrid Minds guys!!! Will change your life guys! Very underrated dnb UK artists... TRUST fam!
the UK is the kings of DnB Chase and Status, Sub focus and Shyfx
For me chase n status are more commercial now days same as Wilkinson
Logistics are also good
But personally i think there all good in there own way n its hard to put some one as the best
But some of the newer producers are just as good in my opinion but are more underground
Voltage
Serum
Bladerunner
Or all together kings of the rolers have produced some great tracks
Not forgetting bou n and producer's like that
Actual sets wise for me
Problem central
Brockie det
Kings of the rolers or again all individual
Or who can forgot the dj's favourite dj RANDAL
For the most part, if the artist is featured, it was produced with them, so a whole new song. It'll say "Chase & Status remix" 9/10 times for a remix
This is my absolute favourite of their tracks! Come on guys! You don't understand EDM features yet?? Just like with Hip-Hop sometimes artists sample other tracks in their production but a remix will always be labeled as a remix.
Who is rivaling chase and status? Honestly a lot. However those other legends also do drum and bass but a whole different sound. You see everything is drum and bass but drum and bass is more of an umbrella term. DnB has a lot of subgenres and different vibes. Theres melodic, there jump up, liquid, jungle, rock, mix of everything, NEURO, pop etc.
Chase are more on the jungle side with the raggue rap. Other dnb sounds are almost alienlike for example neurobwhich is like talking bass and heavy drums creating earthshattering sounds on big systems
Just want to echo the "Chase and Status are not top tier d&b" comments. Don't get me wrong, I love them too, it's just the super commercial end of the scene. Honestly, to get some real insight you want to be listening to some mixes, based on what you seem to enjoy on the channel, maybe Andy C's nightlife series, or some Fabriclives, I can recommend 18, 25, 40, 63, 70 & 82 (they're all pretty awesome tbf)
SHY FX is definitely up there as a Legend
His remix of ray keiths chopper is a legendary track !!!!
A few DNB Legends are Sub Focus, Chase and Status, Shy FX, Andy C, LTJ Bukem 💪
Shy fx Al day long baby. Been smashing it for decades.
Pendulum - masochist
Dillinja / Capone - Jah
And if you want chill DnB
