This track was made over 30 yrs ago in a bedroom 😂, only having simple samplers an Amiga computer and early sequencing software
That's crazy
Ready or not came out 28 years ago in 1996
Not to mention it's an unofficial remix. Doubt they had full access to isolated tracks.
‘It wasn’t for other people’ - you’re so right! It was for the rave, for the big nights out… I loved this cut’n’paste ‘spot the sample’ jump up jungle. It’s so raw.
Long live Wigan Peer .... If you know you know
Back before this tunes release, a legendary artist from the UK I’m happy to say I had the honour of getting to know passed away in a car accident a few weeks after performing at our venue. Zinc came and dropped this after a moment of silence in honour of her & her passings impact on our scene. Zinc gave me his dubplate vinyl of this be used at the show. It remains one of my fav tunes & cherished memories from the 90’s DnB scene. So glad you all are discovering some of the gems from our scene
R.I.P Kemistry
@@lokibrux yeah that was such a devastating loss that is still felt by anyone who knew Kemi & in the impact she would have had on the scene if she wasn’t taken far too soon. Bless
Khemistry ?
@@bennyblanco9231
Kemistry was a groundbreaking female dj & artist who helped found the Metalheadz label plus she had an incredible impact on the DnB scene which was sadly cut far too short due to a tragic car accident. Kemi typically performed with another legendary female dj named Storm. Most of all though she was an amazing human being, so friendly, bubbling over with positive energy & and genuine love for the scene. We lost an angel that sad night.

Respect to Khem…never forgotten ❤
Dudes, this was likely done on an Amiga, with the sample taken directly from the decks. The stuff you are talking about was only available for a professional studio. This is origins. This is ancient stone tablets. An ancient scroll. Also, the long, "basic" intro and outros are for the DJ to cut, and mix onto. Different, but amazing times with brand new sounds never heard before. Mind blowing. One love from Scotland.💙
DJ Zinc is legendary. His track - SuperSharpShooter is an absolute must - it's torn up UK dancefloors for DECADES. Also, if you are checking out these older tracks then Aphrodite & Micky Finn are well worth looking at. Probably best known for "BadAss" - classic. Bear in mind these tracks all go back to the mid-90s
Love how people 1000's miles away are enjoying the music that we danced all night to 25 years ago. Like a a lot of underground music it was more than music, it was a sub culture. Enjoy your journey of my youth
We have to remember this was probably made on analog and DJ Zinc probably was only given the full track of this official remix, or they made it and it became official afterward. The track length is also to give time for the dj to find, get out of a sleeve, beat match, pitch correct, and all then other fun aspects of playing on vinyl.
Ennit ❤
At global gathering, shy fx dropped this and the tent lifted off the ground.....this track is more than likely older than most your followers....banger💥💥💥
RIP global gathering!! Every year I miss it and wish they’d bring it back 😢 some of the best memories!
I got engaged at global gathering ❤😂 some of the best memories at that place, I believe it’s a housing estate now 😢
Pfffffttt!!! The Sanctuary, Milton Keynes RIP a true venue
Zinc has got a mega mix newly availabe on his site, in Vinyl & Digital, which is a mix of "Ready or Not, Super Sharp Shooter & 6 Million ways 🔥
Heard this for the first time at an illegal rave back in 1996. I was 15 and hooked on jungle/dnb immediately.
It still hits just as hard as back then.
Love seeing younger folks getting into the old school
you HAVE to do valley of the shadows by origin unknown, it’s a big part of drum and bass becoming its own genre from jungle
Next up! Urban Takeover remixes - DJ Aphrodite Remix "Luniz - I Got 5 On It" -(Original Dub Plate), Jungle Brothers - Jungle Brother (Urban Takeover Remix)
Yeah Luniz remix is a banger fits dnb perfectly
Yes!
Came here to say the same thing! Banger
Wow guys. This is like a dnb hymn. Memories...
Oooooh no.... they went and did such an old school BANGER! This was a track I loved throwing through the turntables back in the Day!
I cannot believe you guys are getting on this, made my Saturday...and I've had a good Saturday 😂❤💪
The sample was Enya - Boudicca
ELECTRONIC MUSIC - Drum n' Bass' LTJ Bukem who was a game changer... But of course Drum n' Bass came from Acid House & the UK rave scene which was the last REAL Underground movement. Our government in the UK at the time spent a lot of money trying to stop us from raving & even set up a whole Police squad called the ALKALINE DEPARTMENT to arrest us for playing & dancing to Acid House!!! Can you imagine!!
It was an amazing time in British music history & changed the world music scene actually... Why because the incredible electronic music talent that was coming out of Detroit wasn't accepted in the US, they didn't know where to SLOT black artists who created electronic music because they didn't create Rap or Soul etc. SO these talented innovator DJs/Producers came to the UK to play, we had HUGE admiration for them & they for us, they said they felt free of the racial tensions they felt in the U.S against them AND their music... Detroit Techno STILL ignored in the States sadly but still highly admired world-wide! These guys had a massive influence on what we were doing here technically & what you are reacting to now of course 🙂
These Detroit innovators battle against the term EDM & the hi-jacking of their sound by the white music industry who create endless cheesy trax that decimate what they do for a huge profit. It's a very interesting music history that I think you'd both enjoy reading about
www.billboard.com/music/music-news/kevin-saunderson-dance-music-scene-failing-black-artists-interview-9408240/
Err yes they have!! check the catalogue
Progression Sessions 4 or 5 for sure.
Atlantis & Terminator 💛
Yes they have already cos i paid for the request😊
@@richgreenmusic2211 You're right I totally forgot that they had, my bad LOL. LTJ Bukem next but then they need to go back from that to Acid House 😉
Still got this bad boy on vinyl
Take 30 mins. Mickey Finn @One Nation nye - Stevie Hyper, Skibadee, Det, Shabba, Fearkess. Second 30 mins is probably the best sample of what being there at its peak was like.
DJ Zinc was my fav DJ/Producer growing up, to this day my fave tracks are stil Ska and Ska remix
Remember his is built for DJs. So the long intro allows for bringing the track in gradually ✌
I’ve never really thought about that, do all non DJs wonder why these old vinyl tracks have such long intros and outros where nothing much really happens?
@@Abiscuit7574 fact is if you had an absolute banger but it was only 1-2 minutes long no DJ, or few, are dropping it. If the tune is ill the crowd want lots of it! back then u didn’t have auto queuing CDJs that can make a cup of tea whilst they beat match, so most vinyl tunes were at least 3.5 minutes long 😂
What a legendary track. Never an official remix at the time though. When Sony caught wind of how well it was doing they called up Zinc & Hype and told them to stop pressing copies of it. Later it was offered up as an official remix to the Fugees, but they declined on the grounds that they didn’t like being ‘sampled’. Which is ironic considering they themselves sampled Enya in the track and lifting the chorus from the Delfonics 😅
Absolutely banging track, takes me back to my youth
Tune!!! Used to get me up on the dance floor without fail
this was made on 1210s and an Amiga - this was as lo'fi as jungle got
High contrast-if we ever🔥🎶
One of my all time favorite hype up tunes. This is a major rabbit hole of music if you down this era. Some big tunes!
The long build up id deliberate because these tunes were made to be be mixed in with others.
Aaaargh, memories hearing this across an open field on a morning…. 🙂🙂🙂🌞
Big ups for playing this, many of the mid 90s jungle and dnb anthems sample hip hop, soul, funk tunes and tv, films etc
Check these out..
DJ Zinc - Super Sharp Shooter
Roni Size - Music Box
Aphrodite- Badass
DJ Zinc - Six Million ways
Shy Fx- Funkin dem up
Shy Fx - Wolf
Origin Unknown - valley of the shadows
DJ Hype - Peace love and unity
Dillinja- Friday
You should listen to Dj Hype presents Jungle classics mix cd and as some have said you need to listen to the tape recordings from the many raves that built our scene.
Dreamscape, helter skelter, moon dance etc
So so so somuch history that you guys have barely touched, and no disrespect at all, i highly suggest you get diving in and learn as you'll absolutely love it.
It's Jungle genre.
DnB is a child.
Just in case 👌
Jungle Drum and Bass. Big up DJ Zinc. This used to go off in raves
This brings back so many memories!! Thanks so much for reacting to this!!
I’ve got this on vinyl from back in the day. Class tune!
Valley of the shadows needs to be done by you guys soon
Yes.
Omg not heard this in years
Its great to watch your reaction to music that took over our nation in the 90's+. All of us will have our favourite tracks that provoke so many feelings, memories and emotions. We also appreciate the clever production of many of these and there are 100's to choose from.
Hopefully your research and your followers will direct you to them.
For me, Pennywise Neuramancer is an excellent piece of work but the list could go on and on.
Great show and enjoy Chase n Status!
The flip side of this white label was much much heavier with a monstrous rolling baseline throughout
Dropped 2 days ago ... Grima X Azza X P Money X Harry Shotta - Meta Riddim ... Dnb and video is mad 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
If you search on UA-cam you can find a lot of the sets from back in the day. Dreamscape 21 is still one of my fav shows to listen back to.
Wow old school dnb. Love it
Shook ones!!! Plus just released a couple more from that time. Gems
Classic
Slowly watching you both get into UK DnB is quality content
That’s DRUM & fuckin BASS bruv!!
DJ dominator
ua-cam.com/video/dABUt_LIIj4/v-deo.htmlsi=cW0xbZFUVM8yxsvv
It's fun seeing you react to big tunes from when I was a teenager - liking hearing them for the first time again through you.
DJ dominator !!! RIP
To be completely honest with this genre of music, this is what we call in the UK is!!!
Jungle Drum & Bass
classic
This tomb is made in 1994
Classic got this on bootleg vinyl it’s all about the 2nd drop 🤘🏼
What a classic
This song brings back my one nation days . Banger . Sik video
Helter Skelter Crew! If you know you know 👊🏻
Woiiiiii rolling it baaaackkkkk!!!!! This is ot the history books lads!
Oh yes DJ Zinc aka Jammin.. A lot of tracks done with record label “True Playaz” with DJ Hype..
Zinc has BINGO label with new and different genres too.
Another great DnB track Zinc produced “Reach out” I think that one is on the true playaz label too 🙏🏻🔊
They dropped lots as dubs and white labels cos of the blatant sampling of hip hop joints. All of them made some bangers and are legends
Old school D&B has so many samples from old hip hop tunes there's definitely a lot of samples of wu-tang clan used in a lot of the old bangers.
Another classic! And yea video games in the late 90s and 00s used a ton of jungle soundtracks 😅
The fugees sample was recorded from a dubbed tape cassette.
old skool DnB , Yeah im up for it
Oi oi. Find Super Sharp Shooter Remix!!?! Onelove
Great reaction you going down DnB Jungle Rabbit Hole ❤
1 track from my teenage days lol
OK I've got a deep one for you, check out Aphex Twin, start with Windowlicker and Come to daddy, I don't think there would be UK DnB without him, and the videos were so out there at the time.❤
There would def be dnb without apex but he is a legend. He doesn’t have a genre and tbh his influence was wider and more musicians than other DJs. He made the most innovative shit but was impossible to drop in your set 😂😂😂
I remember tripping in my early teens, came back to my pals about 2-3am and come to daddy was on MTV. Nearly lost my mind 😂
If you want to go a bit further back to some groundbreaking tunes that will illustrate the roots of the music: Genaside II Narramine. You're welcome.
Quality tune, let's see them break down the lyrics from the second part , no chance
@@stevecrook8994 😂 So true.
Oooooo one of my recommendations I love it 👌
I got this on white label vinyl 🔥
Me too. Just have to find it in my parent's basement somewhere...😅
We need to get you guys to a UK festival!.. Maybe we can start a go fund me to get you both to Boomtown or something? 😂🤣👍🏼
For another great remix of an old school track, try out "Mala - Alicia", a white label from the dubstep don sampling Alicia Key's Feeling U, Feeling Me. Perfect vibes, that track became legendary in the dubstep scene, that vinyl goes for around 500€ the rare times someone is willing to part with it.
hey you guys, now that your wel and truly in the drum and bass rabbit hole, find out about Stevie hyper D, one of the greatest spitters that was taken from this world far too soon! big up chaps
You should also check out LTJ BUKEM. Again legend of original analogue music production
Great tune guys, i remember it wel from my raving days, code red conquering lion, is another absolute old school banger you should check out. Keep up the great reactions 👍 👏 👌
damn this track takes me back to when i was young!
Sound system music 🎶
That Is how the tune is
Check out the 2003 remix too
There's a DJ Hype version also
Pure Gold (feat Kemo) by Calyx & Teebee would be perfect for your channel
You should've done the garage version and you'd have had Wycliffe on it too lol
More to check out with a hip hop vibe…luniz 5 on it Aphrodite remix/jungle brothers Urban shakedown remix….mickey Finn bad ass
You have to listen to jungle and D&B ON Vinyl to get the true sound. Also the long intros was for DJs to mix and time up. Bless
If you guys like old skool DnB, I recommend a special track for y'all. It's called Windswept by Sully and Tim Reaper (Sully Fader mix)
its from the mid 90s fellas , a lot of it is beats with chopped up samples , the tech wasnt that shit hot back in the day
After this you need to hear the dominator ready or not remix. It's jump up drum and bass
Need to see some stuff Plan B did with Chase & Status
OMFG This is my number 1 tune forever and you found a rare copy how the hell fid you find this one? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You have to do DJ Zinc Faithless mass destruction trust me 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Takes me right back there!
nice hearing tunes from my youth I grew up with. More dnb content please!
Just do old school jungle massive album
If your checking out old school stuff I would suggest jungle brothers urban takeover remix
This was probably uploaded in like 05 so I'm guessing youtube didn't have as much audio control bac then
You should react to dj zinc ft miss dynamite next Underrated tune from back in the day. 😁😁
Wile out! The beers and bars guys love Akala, do they know she's his sister? Done any reactions?
@@calumroche2851wile out was a good tune
Dj zinc ft miss dynamite freenote is a absolute must
Do anything by LTJ Bukem or anything on Good looking/ Looking good records. Horizons is a good place to start. 👍
Proper early 90s analogue music making at its finest. Check out Roni size brown paper bag live. You catch my meaning. Roni size dj zinc. And dj Krust were all from the same outfit and studio based in Bristol England true music pioneers in jungle production from jazz jungle to intelligent drum n bass. Legends all of em 👌🔥🎤
DJ hype remix a banger too
BRUH i cant believe yall reacting to classic dnb
This tune hits better in a set to be fair. If you want to check out old school raving there's a few world dance videos on here. Or there's dreamscape ,tazmania and many other sets on UA-cam .
I love watching you react to tunes I was raving to 30 years ago.lol brings back some good memories. ❤❤
I LOVE Zinc, and if you've not heard Super Sharp Shooter, you need to. (also 138 Trek, esp the vocal version with MC GQ, is great).
BUT if you want to hear a truly mindbending jungle production, go for the Wagon Christ (aka Luke Vibert) mix of Extreme Possibilities.
(Though tbh you can skip the first 1.30 of the Wagon Christ)
Should check out some more chill drum n bass (what i listen to now days) few examples..
London Elektricity - Just one second
Hybrid Minds - Touch
Etherwood - Begin by letting go
all good tunes and artists
Actually Etherwoods album blue leaves is the last CD i ever bought haha
And London Elektricity hosts a drum and bass podcast called 'Hospital Records' been listening to that since about 2008... good stuff
Love it beautiful people :)
cant beat this classic, that old skool amen break 👌👌, never get old timeless, got to agree as well youtube certainly kill's the sound, worth bearing in mind this was made using very simple techniques, 1000% would sound better played direct from vinyl on a proper sound system, check out dj zinc - super sharp shooter remix another banger from him around the same era
Check out Busta rhymes Woo ha (origin unknown remix) Dnb ❤️🎶❤️
