Making it Ashe from ZX Advent could fill in the role with a more well-received character and make the game that is supposedly meant to celebrate all of Capcom's history have more Megaman than just the reps being from X, X, X, and X.
@Zetact_ The thing, he is doing a Kof style roster. In this serie, with a exception of one or two "we really needed to fit that character in there" pics, they go with trio that makes sense lore-wise, so the pre-made trio of 3 playable characters who canonically works as a team would be picked. The 2nd thing to consider is that... While Ashe is pretty much universally well liked among Mega Man ZX fans while Axl is divisive among Mega Man X fans (and even then, his reputation has improved a lot outside of a few fans still stuck in Mega Man X7) , Mega Man ZX itself is less popular than Mega Man X (sadly, there's lot of "geewun" in the fandom). In terms of sheer numbers you'd probably get more people happy with Axl.
My god, you've done it! You've made a justifiable Capcom Universe game! A series where every Capcom property exists in a (somewhat) cohesive timeline! That way nobody would question why Capcom is treated like it's own universe in MvC despite none of the properties being connected!
One of the things i like most about this is the implications of this capcom world. Like, besides havung to deal with Bison, there are zombies and different zombie viruses to deal with, there are succubus and all types of monsters, there are demons and demon hunters, there are futuristic robots who act like humans, there are interdimensional and intertemporal travellers, being a simple human in this world must be crazy

Funny thing is is that team of Maya, Nina, and Menat. Could work with most of the Nina's actually. Nina 1's hobby is literally eating, and while she can absolutely be serious, hard not to imagine her and Maya getting excited at the idea of travel to have whatever locales have on offer Nina 2 fits very much into the big sister position. I wish you talked about the bosses. Capcom has so many great villains to use. KoF94: Bison. Round one, he's a pushover but round two is Bison II and he is a beast. KoF99: Birkin. He starts out as a slow grappler but round two he bulks up to giant slime monster like Final Abyss from mvc2. KoF'09: Yami from _Ōkami._ You can just reuse his model and moveset from TvC. KoF'24: Akuma! But each round he shifts to a stronger form from vanilla Akuma, Shin Akuma, then Oni.
KOF 95: Ken and Shin Bison. Phase 1, Ken is a stronger version of himself from 94 with some new moves. Phase 2, Bison fights similar to his Alpha 3 look. Side note, Team WW would be Ryu, Chun-Li and Guile. And one of the teams would be replaced by Team Alpha/Zero based of SF Alpha (someone has to be the American Sports team...)
@@pedrojosebellobelen3824 I was torn for the phase 4 boss. I almost picked Dr. Wily with him bring in a giant flying mech like Onslaught from mvc1 but Akuma having so many forms felt more fitting.
Interestingly, that boss team is an analog for 3 of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse: Bison - war, Wesker - pestilence, Vergil - death; so the final boss could be a new character as a representation of famine
With Terry and Mai appearing in SF6 soon, City of the Wolves coming out next year and Capcom announcing a MVC collection, Capcom and SNK fans are gonna be eating good tonight.

Claiming the title of "Vocal Sengoku Basara Fan" to say the obvious three person team is Date Masamune, Sanada Yukimura, and Maeda Keiji. They were the three face protagonists of Sengoku Basara 2 and doing this can give us Toyotomi Hideyoshi as a boss character.

20:14 "mack the knife" is also the name of the main character of the drei groshen oper which is a highly influential german rewriting of macbeth and is the inspiration behind "mac tonight"
If I had a nickel for all of the funny timing that happened with this video (Terry and Mai in SF6, MVC Fighting Collection), I would have two nickels. Which isn't much, but it's strange that it happened twice.
The tricky thing with Sengoku Basara is that you HAVE to have Yukimura and Masamune. But the third slot is difficult. You could have Keiji, the third face of SB2, but they'd want to promote SB3 and its new faces, Ieyasu and Mitsunari. But Masamune hates Mitsunari and Yukimura dislikes Ieyasu. The best option would probably be Ieyasu, since he and Yukimura's differences are reconcilable, and they'd probably put their differences aside to deal with being trapped in another time period. But after this point, Mitsunari shot up popularity polls, so he'd be the one you'd have to make work in later games and that fundamentally would not work with Masamune.

Happy fourth anniversary. I love this episode and each episode is fantastic. I am now seeing the what if Capcom did KOF, but I was thinking the hypothetical of DC vs SNK. That will be an interesting build the roster episode
1. Man yesterday Wyatt Sick6 debut. Today a new build the roster is released, not to mention the MvC collection is getting released. We eating good this week so far 2. This man created 4 different KOF rosters with Capcom, that is dedication and creativity at its finest. Now you should go one step further and do the entire KOF timeline, but with Capcom. Complete with every single saga, as well as all the random behind-the-scenes nonsense with every game…. i’m just kidding I don’t want you to hurt yourself. 3. Wait, if Nishiyama would’ve stayed with Capcom and pitched the idea of King Of Fighters to them. Does that mean Fatal Fury and Art Of Fighting would’ve never existed? 4. I feel like Team Commando would be the 1994 rosters equivalent to the American Sports Team, they got that only show up own this game and this game only feel. Although you did bring back Commando for the 2024 roster so, SNK? There’s still some time before KOF 16 5. Two of the teams I was hoping for it on this roster was Ruby Heart, Amingo, and SonSon. And Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly. And man, Aaron, you definitely delivered. Never change
This coming out soon after Terry and Mai being announced for sf6 then on the sameday mvc is revealed to be returning is amazing lol. Thank you Thorgi keep on making these dream games that I will never have.
Why did it take 9 days to recommend me this!? Why must you torture me UA-cam! On another note, I’ve loved this series since day 1! So glad it’s remained such a joy to watch for 4 years!
Not sure if anyone will even see this, but I believe it would be really interesting to have a video like this attempting to construct a new Smash Bros. roster without using *any* of the existing characters. How would you try to represent biggest franchises in gaming without any of the established mascots?
The answer is you don't. Jokes aside, if there's anything we should learn from Smash Bros and its fans is that taking out any character from the roster is automatic "NO" and what ever reason is the wrong because they say so especially when they're all "Sakurai wouldn't do that" (while being unaware that Sakurai doesn't really want Smash Bros to be made under what HE would do). Still would be interesting, just saying that a lot of folks would be turned off to the point of "insult". LOL
Teams in fighting games are interesting and we need more BTR stuff like that. Imagine a horror themed KOF but with everything on the table that way teams like The Walking Dead get to switch up their guys every Halloween fight. LOL
I dont know if you will see this message of mine or even reply to it, but BIG THANK YOU for including Rival Schools characters in the roster and yes, Team Justice is a good idea for a crossover team. From a fan of Shinritsu Justice Gakkuen/Rival Schools/Project Justice. Thank you Thorgi
@@AngryDragon0 Still though especially when a Team Awakened Orochi isn't a popular idea to cover if Thorgi had to choose which teams to cover. But if he did a roster for every game, we WOULD have a Team Shadow or alike for them especially when they can make Nash the leader of it given his history.
I don't even play any of the games they're from, but man did I cheer when I saw team bosses at the end. That's just so COOL. And then I just kinda realize why you do what you do. Just because it IS that cool to think about. So thank you, Thorgi, for all your hard work.
I was honestly shocked to see so few rules or weird caveats when this video started, but by the end of this video I realized that it was business as usual for this hard-working dude. Also, good job sneakily educating us about the history of Capcom. Great video, happy 4th anniversary for Build the Roster!
Happy anniversary! Thanks for giving everyone what they asked for, a real Capcom Fighting Jam/Evolution! And I would seriously die happy if we ever got a Team Clover! While I absolutely love what you did with these rosters, there's just one thought that was lingering in my mind. SNK not only crossed over their other franchises in KOF, but they also created KOF-specific characters, like Team Japan and Team Orochi. And luckily, Capcom already gave us 4 unique fighters in Capcom Fighting All-Stars. We can have Team Code Holder: Ingrid, DD, and Rook. With Death as the boss of the series, similar to Rugal. I know nowadays people have some disdain for Ingrid, but I think that's mostly due to Capcom Fighting Jam. If not for that game, I think she might have gotten a better reception. So have the 3 Card Holders as the main characters of this crossover franchise, and I feel that would take this video full circle. Again, I just wanna thank you for all of your entertaining videos, especially Build the Roster. You never disappoint!
Thorgi should do a build the roster for a Koei Tecmo cross over fighter. Yeah they do crossovers and themed games in the Musuo series but what if they made a fighter using the concept?
I can imagine in a parallel universe, someone pitched the idea of King of Fighters to Capcom and that sold so well that it became its inspiration for Smash Bros.
Just a couple of things Pretty sure Iori was a Solo Entry in '97. So was Shingo. C KoF 13: For Team Samurai Heroes, if we were going with faces method I'd put the team as Masamune (Face of the Series), Yukimura (His Rival) and Ieyasu (The New Face) and give the Solo Entry Spot to Mitsunari (Ieyasu's Rival), or you could go Masamune, Yukimura and Oichi if you were unsure whether the new faces would make it into the team. Also, Saga Idea - Shadaloo Saga, Umbrella Saga, Demon King Saga. For third saga, you could have people trying to revive Basara Nobunaga and could even have him pull a God Rugal and beat Shin Akuma, claiming the Satsui no Hado, to become the True Demon King.
Shadaloo Saga- Bison is looking to rule the entire Capcom universe going from conquering the worlds or remaking it in his own image in a somewhat Doomsday manor like A Shadow Falls or Street Fighter TAS's finale. Umbrella Saga- Thorgi had a simple plot for that. Not gonna change much other than I could see Tyrant, Nemesis and Wesker as final bosses. Wily Saga- Personally I feel like we need an saga dedicated to Mega Man given their series of characters and popularity but given how Thorgi went for Battle Network, let's incorporate Wily from Battle Network (with shades of classic Wily since this is an alternate universe) who could serve as the Ash of the saga but with Team Netnavis or Netopia or ACDC serving as Team Elisabeth. I could see Wily trying to create robots or invent some form of extraction device similar to Ash's ability to steal powers. Although the more I think about it, maybe Zero could be the Ash of the third arc but it's Awakened Zero or something. The Fourth arc would probably be the same as XIV.
I just want to say, your Build the Roster vids are always a delight to watch, and you really went all out on this one, especially with the deep cut characters. Amazing work! If you don't mind a suggestion for the next build a roster, may I suggest He-Man/Masters of the Universe? I've always felt the massive cast list from that series, in all its iterations, would make for a good fighting game.
Love this series a lot! An idea for the future would be something like Killer Instinct VS Mortal Kombat. Maybe with something to make it interesting, like the "kameo" system from MK1 or a tag system of some kind.
I guess this is the closest we’ll get to him doing a Capcom all stars roster for a bit, though I imagine this will be focused on fighting game characters that could fit in the same universe. Still hoping that your Smash Bros video next year will be for Capcom.
I loved this video. A team "guest characters" would've been a good idea. Spider-Man, Kyo Kusanagi, and Jin Kazama. Each guest character represents the franchises that Capcom crossover with over the years.
The scream I screamed when I saw Falcon from Power Stone show up after hoping for a power stone team this entire video was so satisfying. Thank you for remembering it!
That would require him to talk about the story and who their villains would be and KOF had different arcs and bosses and he wasn't gonna spend two hours building rosters AND making fun stories in one video. Though in terms of bosses, Thorgi kinda confirmed that the first roster boss would be Bison while the second roster boss would be from Umbrella given them being like NESTS. Though I'd replace Wesker and Bison with a Mega Man boss and someone else like Pyron.
Love how only a few feature Akuma considering he has SOLO colabs and references, one of these jumpstarting Marvel vs Capcom, while also appearing in every MvC game excluding infinite. Also him being cannon to Tekken, with no sign that anyone else from street fighter is. How many characters can you say that about? That theyre canon characters in two different series? Bro is the definition of a boss battle.
1:23:10 Hey if you want someone from RE7 that could fit. We could use Joe as a single entry fighter. He’s a fan favorite, a bit of a weird pick and he’s got a move set tailor made for a fighting game.
If Ethan winters was on the roster they could just do what Capcom did in heritage for the future with shadow dio. Bro really does have a shadow, covering his face, at all times.
So dare we ask for the other side of the coin? "What if SNK did the team up games with Marvel instead of Capcom?" Mai and Psylocke would love hanging out together.
This is a HUGE video, and I have quite a few thoughts on it. - I absolutely love the surprise gimmick of this video. After the second bait-and-switch, I wanted to see how far you could take it. - Mack the Knife is actually the name of a cutthroat thief in The Threepenny Opera, a German opera that came out in 1928, and a famous song named after him. Tragically, this isn't nearly as funny an explanation of Commando Mummy's name as yours is. - I like this alternate timeline because it makes me think of a world where Sean and Charlie got something better than what they've actually been stuck with in our reality. - Sengoku Basara should have Masamune Date and Yukimura Sanada as their equivalents to Ryu and Ken in Team World Warriors. Just feels weird to leave Date out. - Oh Nathan, if only you'd made it into one of the installments before this one. - Funnily enough, the single entry fighters in KOF 13 could easily form Team Monster Hunter...wait. - For a second, I thought you were going to introduce Team Hunters as a new form of Team Adventure. - I know Jedah had a tamer appearance in MVCI, but seeing him here threw me for a loop. - Okay, but Shelly de Killer would be a crazy Ace Attorney pick. Too bad he's only appeared in two games in the series. Franziska von Karma would work perfectly, too, but you'd have to give a reason why a prosecutor would go to a fighting tournament. - Oh god yes, Gene in a fighting game would make my day. What a fantastic finish.
Imagine the fan discutions in that timeline... A: "What's your favorite KOF saga? Mine's is the Nero saga! " B: "I'm more of an Umbrella Saga type of person, for all the spy drama stuff." C: "I prefered the original Psycho Power saga, the plot wasn't as conveluted compared to the other ones. Nero having all the focus felt so wrong to me." D: "Hehe... Yellow Iris goes brr!" 1:48:03 I had this team in mind since I saw your Capcom VS SNK 3 episode for the first time! That and a "God team" with Ingrid and Asura accompagning Amaterasu, mainly as a bonus team rather than the main instigators of the plot... Maybe Asura's civilian form (the version of him of the epilogue of the game) as a single entry character, idk. I want to propose Megaman Starforce as part of the Season 2 DLC fighters, maybe Ashe from ZX Advent too.
Personally, I enjoyed the alternate universe of KOF Battle Network. Too bad, that story arc never finished but it was probably a good thing given some of the Falcoon designs. Really hit or miss or lol.

Making it Ashe from ZX Advent could fill in the role with a more well-received character and make the game that is supposedly meant to celebrate all of Capcom's history have more Megaman than just the reps being from X, X, X, and X.
@@Zetact_ if you're referring to that specific section being the 99 roster, then Ashe wouldn't have existed for this hypothetical anyway.
Team World Warriors 99' being "The Shoto Gauntlet" sounds so funny for me
More like "Whoops, All Shotos!"
Unless they made Ken a Charge character like Robert Garcia or his brother-in-law.
"if we had dante nero and vergil on a team it would be to similar" *hard cuts to WW99*
New Build the roster, MVC collection announcement, and this week episode of Triple KO. This tuesday hit harder than the one where Bison graced Chun-Li's village.
Chun-Li's dad would disagree.
But not as hard as Chun-Li getting her vengeance in the last Yujiro Honma Booty Warrior episode!

A better team shoto would be Sakura Sean Dan and Akuma. We'll say Akuma wants to fight the final boss but he needs a team to do it
Or
We go comedy and say he tried to train students and found just the worst ones
@@sabbathjackal Neither stories would work even for the sake of alternate universe given how KOF made more sense with their teams and gameplay potential. Akuma isn't someone who joins KOF teams and Sean doesn't like Dan or being compared to him so having TWO jokes in your main Street Fighter team isn't a good idea on paper when you're doing Main Teams as opposed to Special Edits.
Funny thing is is that team of Maya, Nina, and Menat. Could work with most of the Nina's actually.
Nina 1's hobby is literally eating, and while she can absolutely be serious, hard not to imagine her and Maya getting excited at the idea of travel to have whatever locales have on offer
Nina 2 fits very much into the big sister position. (mostly because she is) where she would be reigning in the antics of the other 2 if things ever get too far.
Nina 3 is a bit more adventurous and wants to find her own place as a person, why not try a bit of a fun tournament to really spread her wings... even if shes the Nina that can't really fly.
Nina 4 is a sheltered gal but shes so friendly and sweet that it's hard not to imagine her just traveling along with a bunch of friends to just experience things she never has before!.
Maya is going to spirit channel Jack Hammer and become the Evil Magistrate in her own personal episode of the Steel Samurai.
Appropriate considering Terry and Mai are coming to SF6. Funny how life works out sometimes.
I feel like Akuma would be better saved for DLC
@@pedrojosebellobelen3824 I was torn for the phase 4 boss. I almost picked Dr. Wily with him bring in a giant flying mech like Onslaught from mvc1 but Akuma having so many forms felt more fitting.
vanilla Akuma -> Shin Akuma -> CYBER AKUMA
KoF'24 would have to have Violent Ken as the midboss, since we already have the hook for World Warriors that they'd be looking for Ken.
Interestingly, that boss team is an analog for 3 of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse: Bison - war, Wesker - pestilence, Vergil - death; so the final boss could be a new character as a representation of famine

Mack the Knife is from a play by Bertold Brecht. Louis Armstrong covered the song in the play about Mack the Knife (making the character popular).
I like that capcom and snk are the definition of friendly rivals
There were SEVERAL points in this video that I just raised my hands up and screamed "ABSOLUTE CINEMA"
In particular, the Team Bosses Intro was just peak fiction
This could've broken the FGC if this game existed and they dropped Team Bosses during EVO or some Fighting Game Summit.
Something I desperately need is a new Jump Force roster, building on the Weekly Shōnen Jump Series' for something better than what we originally got.

He mentioned it before, but apparently JUMP is very heavy handed when it comes to copyright and could easily claim all the ad revenue.
@@LORDUnLuCkY13Too bad that won't stop people from asking unless they're genuinely willing to give Thorgi their money so he can cover more Anime Fighters.
So for the potential DLC Season 2 of Capcom KOF Modern, which are 6 Characters and 2 Free Bosses for a total of 8:
-Bass.EXE (Megaman Battle Network)
-AKI (Street Fighter 6)
-BB Hood (Darkstalkers)
-Strider Hiryu (Strider)
-Pure the Mage (Adventure Quiz: Capcom World 2)
-Jotaro Kujo (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future)

-Oni (Street Fighter 4)
And given the special DLC character for KOF XV and assuming that it's from Street Fighter, maybe throw in Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury.
I know we have Jotaro as a possibility as it is but given JoJo's history with Capcom and their various collaborations nowadays, I'd say it's possible plus Shonen Jump characters existing in Capcom wouldn't be out there. Hell, Yu Yu Hakusho has Street Fighter cameos in their anime. LOL

49:46 Y'know, with Ruby Heart's first playable appearance in a while coming this year, let's see it Capcom
Team Fatale will be memed into "Team Fetish" if this actually happened.

We eating good this week so far
There’s still some time before KOF 16
Mack the Knife is actually named after an old song. Look it up, it's a fun time
THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! You really put a lot of thought and work into this one!
This might be the most timely video of all time with the kof announcement and Mahvel coming back today
Why did it take 9 days to recommend me this!? Why must you torture me UA-cam!
On another note, I’ve loved this series since day 1! So glad it’s remained such a joy to watch for 4 years!
For capcom kof 99 team world warriors when i realized your plan i gasped and said that's so smart. I dig that team.
LOL
As someone who always picture kof 3 person teams for different fighting games I'm so glad this video was made
Teams in fighting games are interesting and we need more BTR stuff like that.
You had a missed opportunity for Team Corruption with Evil Ryu, Violent Ken, Shadow Lady or Decapre
Yeah, not really. Especially when he's doing just four rosters. You CAN'T cram every possible counterpart team in just four rosters.

I GASPED
This is the greatest day
Happy anniversary!
And that somehow led to Sega Smash Bros.
Just a couple of things
Pretty sure Iori was a Solo Entry in '97.
I'll get the popcorn, cause this is one of the BTRs I've been waiting for Thorgi to launch🎉
Would they be part of a dlc story? Or a minor team that hardly ever gets mentioned in story.

The only thing that missing is... The BOSS. 94' Dr. Wily Robo Ryu, 99' Psycho Power Sigma, 2009 Yami Wesker, and 2024 T-Virus Bison :D
Pyron fits more for the 4th or 3rd saga though

B: "I'm more of an Umbrella Saga type of person, for all the spy drama stuff."
C: "I prefered the original Psycho Power saga, the plot wasn't as conveluted compared to the other ones. Nero having all the focus felt so wrong to me."
D: "Hehe... Yellow Iris goes brr!"
1:48:03 I had this team in mind since I saw your Capcom VS SNK 3 episode for the first time!
