You didn’t play the tear jerker scene. The tear jerker scene is when her daughter comes to the funeral and finally realizes that she only had one mother and regrets everything bad she did and said to her. That ending scene and the movie Beaches when her best friend dies of cancer makes me tear up really badly every time. I feel their pain in both movies
I have watched this movie about 30 times and each time the tears come flowing down my face like a river .if you don't cry then you don't have the love for human compassion
I am of mixed race born in 1958. I was about 12 when I saw this film the tears that I cried were so painful and whenever I see the film the age of 66 the tears are just as painful we live in a very cruel world we will never learn the lessons and seeing each other as humans and not just a different colours. I’m so sad that things will not change in my lifetime. I don’t even think in my grandchildren lifetime humans have to find a way or we will just live in a world full of painful tears.
I am 65 now, of mixed race as well. I Wholeheartedly Agree With what you mentioned here, as I feel the same. Have Adult Grandchildren and Great grandchildren. They are still carrying my Father's Genes. (Features) I have always wish things were different. However with my time left on this Earth, I will do MY Best to remain Humble, Be Kind, and Show LOVE ❤️
The scene that always reduces me to a puddle of tears is when Annie comes to see Sarah Jane one last time, and Annie holds her baby girl in her arms for the last time. I'm tearing up just thinking about it.
I'll watch the original one I think in 1939 and also the second one in 1959 and they are very hard to watch being a so-called African-American woman I love the movies though I love them❤
I invited my brother over for lunch one day and put the lana turner version in and when it got to the sad part, i stood behind the door way and watched him crying, this movie will make a man cry.🎉
I saw it for the first time this weekend and I was literally sobbing with rage by the end of it. I am 68 years old and I hate racism but I had never heard of this film. I was 4 years old when it came out at the theaters.
I haven't seen it. It is the first time that I hear about it. Let me think about a fair looking girl who brings her mother to court saying that she wasn't her mother and that she must stop seeing her and calling her her child 😢
That isn't the scene where you well up! The scene is when the daughter went to her mother's funeral and realised she did her mother wrong by rejecting her. There's another scene where her mom asked her daughter if she can have one more huge from her "baby". She knew she was going to die but never told the daughter! The daughter huged her back, but the saddest part is when the daughter put her passing into white society before her kind and loving mother! Really sad😢! 🤍🤍🤍
One of the greatest tearjerker movies ever. Especially the last scene where the daughter regrets how she treated her mom, but it's too late.
