I have one. Reliability is completely dependent upon the care taken in loading the magazine. I love how light it is and how compact it becomes when collapsed. I think it would make a good backpack gun.
Bought one a few weeks ago and, yeah, it's a great little rifle! I had already bought a PMR-30 a couple of months before that, and after practicing loading/reloading the mags for a while I got a method down that works well and I can load pretty quickly without having failures. Also put a nice muzzle brake/barrel shroud on it that looks like a suppressor but isn't. Love the look and the fact that I don't have to pay the government more money for an unconstitutional tax stamp. That range looks cool, too. Good video.
I've thought about getting the pistol. I might end up getting one. And hopefully some day suppressors are taken off the nfa list. I know its at least been attempted.
There are loading tools for the mags, makes it pretty easy. also Mcarbo make inexpensive upgrade parts like a steel feed ramp and a better trigger pack, plus spring kits for more reliability with more ammo types. a lot of feed issues can be fixed just by replacing the plastic feed ramp.
Agreed, the mag loader makes it so much easier to load. The last 3 take enough pressure to get in that it can distort the case, but with every loading it seems to get better.
The CMR 30 is a beautiful firearm but it ONLY eats 40 grain rounds and you need a loader. Other than that the ergonomics are insane, it 's ultra light weight and extremely accurate. Great video!
I think the standard mags hold 30, hence the name CMR30. Willing to be mistaken but I’m like 90% sure. Good review. Authentic results and unbiased opinion.
Yes it is 30. You are correct. UA-cam is a bit liberal on magazine capacities which is why I only loaded 20 rounds and didn't disclose maximum capacity.
They are great. I have one. You would like it a lot. They make a very nice inexpensive mag loader that helps eliminate feeding issues. Made by American Speedloaders.
Check out PMR 30 magazine fix UA-cam video where the creator shows how to put a bead of glue on the ledge of the mag that secures it in the well. Makes the mag stay up and snug vs loose (too far away from ramp) effectively eliminating most feeding problems.
MCarbo has after market fixes for most of the hiccups for these, that aren't self induced ! Improper magazine loading, as an example ! Worth looking into, especially if you are considering the PMR 30 for EDC ! Lots of videos available showing improved running, after the MCarbo fixes ! Do it yourself, or send your gun to them for mods ! Worth looking into ! IMHO ! 👍😉

@sleeve8651 I pretty much like all guns. When it comes to just having a fun range day anyway. For defense Glock is definitely a good option. Not what I chose though. I use a Sig 365. @@davemaximillion5501 That's what I've always thought too ! Knowing little about a lot, (lol)...I always wondered why some ammo manufacturer never attempted such ? Maybe they tried an failed ? after the bolt locks to the rear when empty, dont use bolt release lever to chamber the next round. Just slingshot it with charging handle. The lever will most likely break if u use the lever that way. If it does break not a huge deal temporarly, bolt wont lock to the rear anymore but you do need to fix it.( they will send u a new lever to fix yourself) Best solution just dont break it. This gun is really cool but its a novelty, not a go to war gun
Run a Burris red dot on my PMR30 and after following Kel Tec instructions never an issue. Wish I had bought the CMR30 when it was half the present cost
I already have the Keltec PMR30 but thinking about getting one of these, as long as the ammunition doesn't get too expensive or scarce. BTW, where are you located? That looks like a high desert in Wyoming, Colorado, or NM.
@richwhippersnapper Yes definitely true. Luckily both calibers are easy to find at the moment. 17wsm however is not easy to find in my local gun shops and sporting good stores. I haven't been to Florida in probably 35 years. I do have family there though.
I love the sound of 22WMR, not much more recoil then 22LR, but definately alot mors BANG!!! From being SuperSonic, And hits the target before you even got a chance to realease your finger 1mm to follow up, once they are worked in and tweaked they are much better
I had the first gen sub2000 it was a fun gun. That being said I wouldn’t grab it first in a situation where human life was on the line. Great compact tractor/truck gun or for camping/backpacking.
My CMR30 ate my Bolt release it was quite prone to failure I purchase the Mcarbo upgrade parts and it’s basically sorted out. it is a fun gun but never would I trust it with my life.
I've never put a group on paper. Really wouldn't make a difference either way. Its not meant to be a precision rifle. That is a good idea though just to see how it does.

Yes definitely a good pack gun. How you load the magazines definitely makes all the difference.

@@jamesers99 It was the UA CMR-30 from underworldarms. Really slick. Just go to their website, same as the name.
I was looking for reasons not to buy it and I think this just gave me a reason to buy it
Its a good plinking gun. It is ammo picky, mags have to be loaded just right. Keep it clean and lubed and you shouldn't have to many issues with it.
@@davemaximillion5501 Loading 20 seems to be the sweet spot on both the CMR and the PMR.
Had mine for several years now. Only has issues if I fully load magazines. If I download to 26 or 27 rounds it runs good. Great backpack gun
Definitely alot of fun. Wish it was more reliable by design.

I've heard that before. I'm going to have to look into that. Thank you.
I have the pmr30 and the cmr30, they are both so much fun. And with good shot placement can be quite effective for "pest " control.
Haven't shot the pistol. The carbine is for sure alot of fun.
Buy the cmr speed loader. It will stop 90% of your mag problems. No tapping either

Yeah I don't think it would hold up with everyday use.
Any of the 40 grain ammo will work. any of the smaller grains will be a craps roll of the dice.

Ammo is getting a little pricey in my location. And you guessed right with one of those states. Just not NM.
Some 22WMR is more expensive than the cheapest 9mm FMJ, so 9mm may be the better value. I vacation in Colorado every summer. I live in Florida.

I’d buy this in 5.7
Amongst all the negatives (picky ammo, mag release, mag loading technique) the rifle is extremely accurate out of the box.
And alot of fun 😁
It holds 30 someone makes a 50 round also definitely gotta pick one up closest thing to a mp7 pretty much 😂 they need to make a body kit for it
That would be pretty cool 😎
Know where I can find a fake suppressor for the barrel?
I sure don't, you might check M carbo. I know they make stuff like that for other guns.
Keltek. Cause fuck it!
I been wantin one
In my humble experience, for the budget, nothing beats a Hi Point 9mm carbine for homedefense, rach rifle, homestead rifle,
etc.
True if your budget is very low. The Hi point carbine works
@rangerdanger766 I could be wrong but I think its also the only semi auto carbine that shoots 22mag.
I'd put the Mcarbo upgrades in it :)
I'm more concerned with the road that runs parallel to the range.
Lol, people drive really fast when they go by.
Why do you have an airsoft optic on it? Those garbage optics are always very disappointing to see on real guns.
Yeah, it works fairly well though. Cheap optic for a cheapish gun.
HOLY CRAP... ITS THE MP7 AT HOME BRUH
Lol yeah
I'm on the 2nd second and I WANT IT I WANT IT IWANT IT I WANT ALL KEL TEC GUNS OH GOD PLEASE!!!
