    27:48 .... to see him pot this and get position made me giddy inside. the guy is incredible.

    I'm going to try to get him to play rotation again.... he's the best I've ever seen - and invariably has the highest pool IQ.

  • @AavonorcaA

    Yes - in this video, he shows effortless mastery of pool. IMO, the best video of him on the internet and I've seen them all.

    I always was at awe with the legend but this game really makes him shine! So happy I found this video. Anybody can shoot straight on an empty table but this is completely different league of intelligence. Watching him unwrapping the puzzle... master of his craft at work.

    This is unbelievable. He makes these tricky little shots seem like no problem whatsoever. If you know pool you know this is pure greatness.

      yeah, he sees opportunities to create "easy" that I can't consider.

    Truman, you have the right idea--I've heard you mention in other videos that if you had your way the top players would always have a camera on them as they gambled/practiced so none of this stuff would be lost. This is one of only a few examples on YT of Efren playing the game that made him the kind of player he is. Great stuff, thank you.

    I absolutely love this video, thanks for uploading. Rotation has to be one of the hardest games ever, and Efren makes it look so damn easy.

    It's my pleasure. Your gratitude is appreciated. We'll be posting additional videos of Alcano, Pagulayan and Orcollo doing the ghost as well. All videos are COMPLETE and being worked on as I type this. Hope to have it all done within the next 2 weeks.

    Glad you enjoyed it Frederick. I see a lot of what I could work on next time -- but also, in having recorded both the 10 ball and rotation ghost, I see that rotation is about a million times more interesting to watch; every rack requires some genius thought to perform the solve.

    There will never be a player like Efren Reyes again. Nobody comes close to the all-around ability of this man. Not SVB, not Earl, not Parica, not Sigel, not Buddy Hall, not the great players of yester-year. Nobody! Discussion closed! :)

    • @frontdesk6225
      @frontdesk6225 6 років тому +1

      well put if anyone was to be close to efren it would be svb

    • @TallBob1962
      @TallBob1962 5 років тому

      @@frontdesk6225 pfffftt - hardly. SVB doesn't even play 3-cushion or straight rail, and Efren plays both well. SVB's one-pocket game isn't anywhere near Efren's and Efren has ruled rotation games and 8-ball for 3 decades. SVB is a world-class champion, granted, but he is fairly one-dimensional and isn't close to Efren's natural stroke, fluidity, accuracy or creativity.

    • @corsairgamingyt
      @corsairgamingyt 5 років тому +1

      I'd choose Sigel cus Reyes actually respects him.

  • @seiyul
    @seiyul 11 років тому

    I could not agree with you more. Not just the cue ball control, but the first 1 ball shot where he develops the pack, and then he knew all along he was going to play the 9 off the 11 so didn't take the risk of trying to break that 9-10 when shooting the 8... That rack summarizes what Efren is, pure shotmaking, astonishing cue ball control, and a PhD in pool knowledge.

    This video is the dead nuts. I could watch this forever. Reyes is like Beethoven.

  • @AavonorcaA
    @AavonorcaA 11 років тому

    The rack starting around 24:40 is probably the greatest run-out I've ever seen Efren do. While he missed the 11, his demonstration of cue ball control is unparalleled. I doubt anyone in the world, past or present, could run that out.

  • @CreeDorofl

    Big thanks to truman for this video, it's cool seeing efren in just a regular pool hall, doing amazing things. Hope someday to see this live.

  • @chankom
    @chankom 11 років тому

    I couldn't have said any better. well half-racks are still enjoyable to watch and study the thought process of Efren, something that nobody could comprehend. haha. Plus, Efren uses the rail and kicks extremely well, remind me of the great Sang Lee...some commonality of billiards geniuses.

    Around the 4:30 mark, I could see that he was going to play the 1-9 combination and wondering how he was going to get position on the 2 ball, before I could finish being at a loss he used the 1-9 combination to move the 1 ball into position to play for the 2 next, brilliant.

    My pleasure. I fully intend to organize future rotation sessions against the ghost; forget half-racks. :-) It's traffic and non-linear thinking that make the game beautiful.

  • @jbideastoo
    @jbideastoo 11 років тому

    In rotation the goal is to get 61 points out of 120 possible. The lowest numbered ball is what the player shooting must hit first. Each ball is worth it's face value. Slop and combos count as long as the lowest numbered ball was hit first.

  • @ginkster24
    @ginkster24 11 років тому

    amen to that.

    I think the next shot on the 8 is pretty special too. It didnt go 'cuz the table stole the shot beginning about a diamond away from the pocket.

    Shot at 19:25 is too good to describe, especially when followed by the great 4-9 combo and runout to the 11. I have watched this video countless times and I am still astounded by what Efren can do.

    one option is you can download the video using a site like keepvid.com , and then play the video file in a movie player such as Media Player Classic or VLC. They support stepping frame by frame.

      In billiards (pool) rotation means shooting the balls in order from 1-15 (in this case)

      +Melanie Rhose Elias Hi Melanie, how'd you find this video if you aren't already a pool nerd like us?
      Efren is largely regarded as the best player who's ever played. It's hard to fully provide to an unfamiliar person how spectacular and genius what he's doing is.
      They are, as Patrick says, to be shot in the lowest numbered order... which is most spectacular when you have to not only pocket a combination, but also control the ball you're combinating with.
      Thanks for checking it out.
