    So glad to hear that you're doing well. It's helpful to hear you share your story! I'm 18 weeks pregnant with a large fibroid. It definitely can be a little scary, but like you, I don't have a lot of symptoms. This gives me hope for my body and my birth!

      Actually I did not! I’ve received this question a lot and I know for some people it works/they’re advice to make dietary changes. In my case it really was about time and allowing my uterus time to shrink back which then let the fibroids to shrink also. I’m breastfeeding too and I hear that helps with helping the uterus go down

    Thank for sharing, I'm currently 32 weeks and have a fibroid that is 11cm. It was crazy because I feel like the fibroid suddenly grew larger and became noticeable out of nowhere. At my very first ultrasound my doctor saw something small that looked like a fibroid and it grew larger a few months ago.

      Of course Andrea! Thank you so much for watching! That’s how I felt too, it just became a thing that seemed to appear out of thin air. I’m so glad to share my story because many times we don’t know until we try to conceive and run into issues, or until we are pregnant and taking a look at baby for the first time. I wish you all the best in your final few weeks of pregnancy and hope for the most amazing birth experience ever! Be sure to come back and keep me posted whenever little one arrives 💜 Be well

    Thanks so much for sharing your story! So pleased to hear that you gave birth safely and also that the fibroids have shrunk! Thats so amazing!!
    Did you have any pains during pregnancy which were caused by the fibroids? Specially the large one? When your uterus was expanding and the top left fibroid was growing and expanding was there any added pain and discomfort? Thanks 🌺🧡

      Hi Rozanne I apologize for my late response! But I did feel some discomfort in the 3rd trimester due to my larger fibroid when I would lay down flat or reach for something. It was just in the way and I think everything inside was squished 🤣🥴

    My wife is 35 weeks pregnant. She has 14cm subserosal fibroid on left uterus n a smaller one posterior. Cervix is clear baby head down. Dr want her to have a C section bcuz fibroids put you at greater risk of postpartum hemorrhage.. Am like doesn't csection pose more risks? Did u had issues with postpartum hemorrhage after birth?

    • @TheFortitudeFix
      @TheFortitudeFix  2 роки тому +2

      Jamel this is such a wonderful and insightful question, thank you so much for asking! It’s amazing to hear how involved you are! In my case, they didn’t want to do a c-section because of the risks of bleeding (and other risks), I have a blood disease so they wanted to be careful. I delivered vaginally with a midwife (she was amazing!!!!). With a vaginal delivery a postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is considered anything greater than 500mL. I lost about 450mL so I was close but my midwife was able to stop the bleeding quickly and everything was fine. I was up walking to the restroom etc just a few hours later!! I wish you and your wife the very best! Keep learning, advocating for her and asking ALL your questions to your care team!! Be sure to stick around and let me know how everything works out 💜

      @@TheFortitudeFix thank you for your response. Did the fibroids delayed your uterus from dilating/effacing before birth or contracting after birth? What meds were you given for pph?

    • @TheFortitudeFix
      @TheFortitudeFix  2 роки тому +3

      @@jamelglover6617 My fibroids caused no issues with dilation or effacement. I think the bigger one I had outside my uterus on top, caused issues with my uterus shrinking after delivery. They will press down on the top of the uterus to aid in shrinkage and to make sure all of the placenta has been removed! I remember each time a nurse shift change happened they would share with the incoming nurse to remember to push down hard because what they were feeling was my fibroid at the top, not the uterus, so they had to account for that. I was given Pitocin to stop my bleeding before it turned into a PPH.

    • @TheFortitudeFix
      @TheFortitudeFix  3 роки тому +6

      Hey there!! Honestly, the thing that helped them shrink was me giving birth! When pregnant you have an increased amount of blood flow to your uterus especially. Now that I’m no longer pregnant the fibroids have nothing to thrive and grow off of. In my case, they grew because my uterus grew and as it’s gone down so have the fibroids. I haven’t changed my diet really at all 😊

    Your story is so inspiring and gives hope. I am 32weeks pregnant with a external fibroid of about 14cm. It grew massively during pregnancy. Amazingly, baby's doing okay.
    My questions are, did you feel less fetal movements due to the fibroids? Was the fibroid tumor at any time pressing on the baby? How were you able to manage the weight of both, I mean baby and the tumor? Was delivery really painful?

    • @TheFortitudeFix
      @TheFortitudeFix  2 роки тому +2

      I’m so glad you found some inspiration and hope here, that makes me super happy to hear! Glad baby is doing well also!!!
      Answers to your questions: nope, I felt every thing my little one was doing! She was having dance parties all hours of the day and night and it kept me sane if that makes any sense. I was happy to feel her so much. No, my fibroid never affected or pressed on baby. My little one was 8 lbs at birth and my fibroid was 18cm at time of delivery. I surprisingly was able to manage the weight pretty well, eventually I stopped taking my dog on walks - that go hard and I basically was waddling toward the end. Just take it easy and listen to your body. Don’t over do it and rest when needed. Force yourself to rest. Delivery was great overall, I had super bad back labor though so it was hard to find a position that worked for me. 20 hours into labor I opted for the epidural, she was born 4 hours later 😊

    • @TheFortitudeFix

      Omg sleep during pregnancy was an entire ordeal! When I got further along and the fibroid got bigger, I was uncomfortable in like every position but I think sleeping in my side was best 💜

      Hi there, thanks so much for reaching out. Some people and their fibroids affect conception and others do not affect conception or prevent them from having a successful pregnancy. It really depends on the type, location, size, your overall health and other factors. I’m so sorry but I am not the right person to ask about your pregnancy planning. Please try to get in touch with your care team/doctor
