As a fellow midsize girlie, I understand your perspective on how some things might feel “too long” for your liking but I (like a lot of others) really think the longer dresses look really flattering on you. Not sure if this is one of your concerns, but I always avoid long dresses since they tend to make me look wide and stubby but I think they do a good job at doing the opposite: elongating your body and contouring your shape really well :)

I visit my boyfriend's parents in southern Italy once a year. The women there tend to wear midi dresses and look soooo elegant and feminine in them, I started to love the look. It emphasises my curves and makes me feel flowy and carefree.
First time watcher here and the light green colored dresses look really good on you. So refreshing and lovely! I didn't feel the length was an issue tbh, but if it helps, you can accentuate your focus on your hair and makeup. I think you'll serve refreshing spring vibes if you styled with ribbons and flowers on hair /earrings ☺️🌷

The 2 midi green dresses were really flattering on you. I know short skirts make ppl look taller but they also accentuate thick thighs. The brown skirt looked great on you tho maybe bc it was asymmetrical. Long skirts can be flattering on short girls too so I’d love to see you try on more.

(because most of the women in Asia are just built that way) Don't destroy yourself just for some views and a bag. You have so much potential 🥺 I truly hope you don't take this in a bad way. Hey Fei! 💜 I don't want to come across as 1 of those "Creeper Jeepers" or whatever you said 😂 BUT I was wondering if in the future you would mind showing the clothing from the sides, back, and how they look & if they're comfortable while sitting down in? Sometimes you do show the back and sides (much appreciated), but it's hard to get an idea bc of how quick it is.
I have never bought clothes online bc I'm so self-conscious and picky about how things fit, kinda similar to you. As someone who also has next to no torso space (I thank my mom for those gentics 😩 and am 5'3) bottoms tend to ride up on me and I get "spillage" on the sides and/or I feel like I'm basically being strangled bc of how they creep up. I worry about constantly feeling like I'll have to suck in and things that normally fit well end up fitting funky when moving around or sitting. I hope that makes sense? 😮💨
Just about every one of those items looked so cute on you and like they fit well in all the right places. If you do end up deciding to size up on any of the ones that didn't work I'd love to see the difference in a video I really liked the 2 most recent Try-On Haul videos. Cute clothes, cute fits, and could likely easily be tailored.

When I was in Penang a few years ago with my stepsister we stayed in a street that was an outdoor market. It was summer and so humid I was feeling sooo hot even in shorts so I just wanted a dress for… the breeze. I was a size 8 US. I was looking for a tank top sleeved dress and I asked at one stall and the elderly woman seemed confused for a minute and then I guess she understood me because her eyes lit up and she hands me the exact thing I’m looking for, telling me “I should have known. Look at you, you want the big girl dress!” and puffed out her cheeks and motioned like she had a big belly. I bought two. That was 20 years ago. However, I’m now a size XL and my “big girl dresses” (literally what I call them) still fit and I still wear them. I wish you could leave pics in the comments 😂

Fei, clothes label clothes, not us 🥹 People here in Asia ARE small. I’m always been curvy chubby, US 6 and 3XL in (East) Asian clothes.
Your feelings towards Asian brands is a kind invitation to consider what actually hurt you in your childhood and caused body image issues. Brands aren’t deliberately out to get people like us (they can do better, sure) and we have other options. This is true freedom. It’s never been the brands, it’s always been my early caregivers.

Fei, the dress that you couldn't get into, trust me, it's not your or sizing fault, i'm hella skinny and i have that exact same dress and it's a struggle to get in and out of it. they really should've put a zipper. but once i get into it, it does fit just right for me. i've had that dress for years now.

I went shopping in LA Chinatown for traditional Chinese New Year's clothes. I wasn't really hopeful because sizing but they had upto 7xxxxxl. Had they had an 8xxxxl (women's) it would have been perfect. I ended up having to wear a men's 5xxl? I think but at least I managed something.

most of the dresses that are too long for you don't have complicated hemlines, they can be hemmed with a 17 dollar child sewing machine by a complete beginner ez. and even if you still don't wanna do it yourself, you can take them to a tailor to get hemmed and they'll maybe charge you like 10 bucks.
You have to know that Asia is a continent that has many skinny people in it and America I’m sorry to say is fat as f-k it’s no the people it’s the food and the large amount of unhealthy stuff but in Asia like Japan ,Korea and more have more food that’s healthy and ban some foods so it’s not their fault they don’t just have bigger size models scale. ( no im not Asian I’m black but I would love to go to Asian!1♡)
Hey Fei, have you tried plus size brands from Taobao? I'm usually size L in asian size but I fit in M and sometimes S in their sizing. Brands like 周白子 and 黑泽玄七 design clothes specifically for busty women.

I just like what I like and have not been much of a "girly girl"/ tend to feel more comfortable in clothes that hide my body rather than accentuate it. I'm pretty lost style-wise. I see so many things that look so cute on others, but I am afraid they'll draw unwanted attention to me/ parts of my body. I actually DID think the shoes looked cute with *every* outfit, but questioned if *I* just might have bad taste or something. It's reassuring that you thought the same. I don't know why, but I feel like the black and green dress has the traditional fit of a choengsam/qipao. As isn't the modern shilouette (the close fitting one) a more recent development (like it became the new defacto fit for that piece of clothing in the late 1900s).
Where do you get the jeans with the cinches on the side? I am considerably bigger than you and wear a lot of Asian styles (a lot of lolita!) but I haven't seen them, probably because I usually don't bother to get jeans from Asian stores when I can try them on here in the US. But I would buy those because I'm an hourglass with a bit of a pooch.
I like the white 'church dress' on you. It doesn't make you look like a kid or a mom. I know it's not your usual style but it's pretty. But you could get it hemmed to make it shorter if the length really bothers you.

You should try shein!! i think they're an asian store but they have different categories for plus size girlies and sizes up to 4XL i think? they also have cm for each size like for example: 2XL, length: 40cm etc. also the width of everything so u wouldn't accidentally buy sizes too big or too small/tight
