Today I'm finally sharing my process of building a House Bed, aka Montessori Bed. I love how this bed turned out, and it's an easy build. There are tons of ways that you can personalize these beds by adding rails, chimneys, and much more. Hi Ashleigh, I have a quick question. Are these measurements for a crib size mattress or a twin size mattress?
Just asking, what size did she do in her vid? Also is twin size super single?

When I saw your husband. Looking down at the piece of wood and had to laugh. Today is my 43rd wedding anniversary. I lost my husband two years ago and he always did that always when we went to Lowe's and bought would have to hold it and look up and down it. Thank you for a memory.
I am SO sorry for your loss, my dear. 💖 My husband does that, too. He is checking for any twisting or warping in the board. (He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer one year ago TODAY. Thankfully, God has seen fit to answer all of the prayers with a MIRACLE!! The tumor is half of its original size, and he is doing incredibly well. Lord willing, we will celebrate 40 yrs in Dec.! Praise God from whom all blessings flow! 💖)

My husband always said you have to at least two drills one with the drill bit and one with the screw bit

It technically is meant to fit the ikea mattress. But a twin size does fit!! It’s just taller than the ikea mattress so if you have a younger child it may be easier for them to roll off.

Turned out great however frustrating in figuring out. Something to surely need help with. I loved this video because I like to see Ryeleigh and your husband in on the action too! Work and play together = stay together. Nice happy family 🤗🤗🤗❤
I’m attempting to make this now. Are the angles really necessary because Home Depot couldn’t cut them for me and I’ve already painted the wood😅

Your graphic in the video for Wood needed shows 8 - 1x2x8. You actually use 1x3x8. I went off the graphic and bought the wrong wood. 😐

I'm upset you've made this bed months after I jacked up my daughters beds following a different tutorial lol 😂😂. It's fine ill just make the beds again 🤷🏽♀️ following your tutorial. However I kinda wanna make it a loft house bed
Tried to follow your directions, you were not very clear. The cut size in your description is different from your video cut size. When describing the lengths for the angle cut pieces, you never specify if that is to the long side or the short side of the angle. Glad yours turned out well because mine did not.
Hi Samuel. I was a thorough as I could be. All the angle cuts you can visualize in the video, that's what it’s for. The cut sizes are the same, but they are different from the original, and I explained that in the video.
To bad this didn't work out for you as I've had plenty of others recreate this same bed using this video and my cut list with no problem. Thanks for watching. 😊

For my kreg jig it shows that wood with a 1 1/2 inch such as the 2x4 and 2x3 that it needs screws 2 1/2 inch long not 1 1/4 but I allready got the screws before I got my new jig in!!

It's beautiful!! This is every girls dream bed. You could definitely put sheers for a princess theme too. The possibilites are unless. Have you thought about putting knob feet on or leaving on floor level.
The screws? You have 2 different types....how do we know where to use on what side etc?

I didn't waste anything, and I'm pretty sure I put the total in the video. Creating this bed yourself is way cheaper than buying if you already have most of the supplies to do so.
