- My daughter ABSOLUTELY loves to sleep alone in her own bedroom INDEPENDENTLY!!!
This BEDROOM MAKEOVER definitely got her transition from cot to bed so much smoother.
Montessori Floor Bed | YES SPACE for a toddler | Transition from cot to big girl bed
When my daughter hit about 17 month mark she has started to become more independent with daily activities and I felt that she might be ready for a floor bed.
Montessori floor bed is to promote independence and to give children freedom to explore in the room independently.
Since we are switching her cot to a floor bed (which is a major change in the room), I felt the need to give the room some changes to make sure it is safe and easy for my daughter to do things more independently.
So I did make nice and cute changes in the room but not only that, I also made sure the entire room is child proofed to ensure that it is 'YES SPACE".
In order to create a YES SPACE, I decluttered, organised and stored Alina's stuff with lots of considerations.
Most of the items that I got for my daughter's room are neutral colour to make it gender neutral.

The hardest part about our 18 month old sons room transition was finding a solution for his camera. It's currently over his crib but we discovered outlet covers that allow you to plug in still, and then we found cable raceways to hide the cables coming from them. Works like a charm!
i would recormend for you to put the music volume down a bit

Just curious, does your daughter ever try to climb up the dresser using open drawers? My son can be quite adventurous. I'm about to transition him from a crib to floor bed but have concerns about his safety.

My daughter has never tried to climb up the dresser (yet lol), she's not an adventurous kid in fact, she's quite the opposite.
We did mount the dresser to the wall thought just for peace of mind.
And I also make sure that there's absolutely nothing on the dresser so she is not temped to go up there.
We only keep books in the room so that she doesn't get too excited playing with toys when she's supposed to sleep, but if i were you, I'd consider having slightly more entertainment in the room so that he doesn't get too bored in the room.

안녕하세요. 한국은 아이 낙상 방지를 염려해선지 너무 가드 중심의 침대가 많아서. (심지어 거실도...) 돌 이후의 아이에게 좋은 방을 만들고 싶은 중에 검색해서 보게 되었습니다. 아기가 태어날 때 부터 저 큰 크립을 쓰신건가요? 아니면 중간에 바꾸셨을까요? 아기가 뒤집기 되집기를 하기 시작하면 지금의 원목 침대가 작을 것 같은데 아직 저상형 침대를 마련해주기엔 아이 낙상 염려가 있어 고민입니다.
안녕하세요! 저희는 아이가 약 19개월쯤?에 바꿔주었어요. 저희도 뒤집기 시작하는 아기에게 원목침대가 너무 좁고 답답할거같아 검색해보다 몬테소리침대에 대해 알게되어서 바꿔주게됬어요. 염려하시는 낙상문제는 현재까지 한번도 없었고, 저도 그 점이 항상 걱정이되서 바닥에 매트리스를 하나 깔고 사용중이예요. 자면서 굴러떨어지는 것은 침대시트 밑에 수건이나 풀누들같는것을 놔주니 방지가되었구요. 안그래도 저번영상에 몬테소리침대에 대하여 영상을 만들었어요. 참고하시면 좋을것같아요ua-cam.com/video/prHS0AoL6z4/v-deo.html
