I am in Pittsburgh, PA, and new to figs. Our area is zone 6A to 6B and you may be 7A but close enough. For cuttings wondering when to get cuttings to root? It is currently around (Sept 15). Cuttings this time of year from active growth or wait until around Dec 1?

15 would be better if you can handle lifting/moving them. You can always up pot to 15 in a year or two.
My Maltese beauty figs are a purple going to bright red towards the stem. They look different then yours. But incredible taste.
