@@piskelo1065 that's flat out what conversion therapy is, and despite was sasha (his last guest) says, that's exactly what she supports and does. he makes it even more clear on twitter if you check his follows and likes, and the fact that one of the other people he cites is a guy who unironically believes that p*dophiles should be added to the LGBT+ acronym because it's "basically the same thing".
it sucks cause he's a super skilled puppeteer, but he's using his platform to cause harm.

I am SO excited to hear that you have been getting into live theater puppetry!
Your name has come up with my professional theater friends here in Chicago for the past 5 or so years whenever puppets get involved. There was always a big “but he works on such a small scale” lamentation and my “give him time, he is literally advancing the art” response.

@@karloht1373 He has a few sprinkles of creating and engineering BTS. More recently than earlier. The puppetry he did for a TV series has a good deal of mechanics. I suggest you binge like you've never binged before to find your videos of interest. You won't be disappointed!
As someone with a degree in theatrical set design, your work is always an inspiration to me and makes me want to get into puppetry myself (though I find I just don't have the mind or dexterity for it) I'm excited to see more and I hope you'll be able to share the final production with us (or at the very least, clips of the performance)

It’s understandable that some, like you, would disagree and that is valid, but I believe that that should not pressure me into not enjoying his content.
Also, so long her patients are happy, healthy and content with what they choose in the long run, I don’t really see an issue, but thank you for your concern for the people affected.

As for conversion therapy and young trans folks realizing they didn't want to transition or want to detransition- research has shown that the majority of people who detransition wasn't because they regretted their choice. It's often because they were pressured into detransition by a parent or loved one. Others were scared of the abuse and transphobia they endure or would endure. Conversion therapy to help "troubled teens who think they're a different gender" is not the answer. How about just- therapy. Not converting, not talking them out of it. Instead- talking to them. Understanding how they feel and helping them understand how they feel- and if they come to the conclusion they are the gender they were assigned at birth, good for them! If they come to the conclusion that are not the sex they were assigned at birth, good for them!
These parents shouldn't be trying to STOP their child from being trans- rather help them understand their feelings and not only if that's actually how their feeling but how to help them.
My sister thought she might have been trans, so my parents got her in with a psychiatrist. They talked and worked together, and put her on depression medication. Turns out, her gender dysphoria was linked with depression and the feeling that she wasn't fitting into her body- it was because she wasn't happy.
But so many people have had the same experience- and instead realized they ARE trans.
Repeatedly telling them their feelings are incorrect is not the answer. It never will be.

Barnaby, you keep and keep impressing me with your puppets. they are simply astonishing. The team and you did a really awesome job. the simplicity and complexity at the same time is alway so fascinating.
One question I have, and maybe someone can explain it to me, is: How does one go about designing the linkage. I've been trying a lot not the least with the linkage Program of David Rector but I find it extremely difficult to achieve the motion I'm after by purely trial and error since I have a hard time imagining the outcome of different linkage constructions. And searching for literature or other sources for principals of this form of mechanics wasnt to successfull yet. If anybody has an idea where I could find more information I'd be very happy.
I'm specifically looking for a good concept of how to make a wavemotion for squid tentacles only powered by one crank. I managed to get something working but its way to crowded to put eight on one body.

"Lockdown hair" - do believe U.K. has had a longer lockdown then U.S.A., therefore no barber shops !

There was always at least one state refusing to have even basic measures in place.
@@telectronix1368 Massachusetts had something very close to a lockdown. I think considering that 90 % of everything was closed ! They stopped just short of closing the state's borders.
Most "non-essentials" - like barber's- were closed for months. I know this for a fact as there is a high end barber's shop near me & they put a notice on their signage when they were reopening & it was ONLY by appointment & masks were mandatory.

I think what makes your puppets so good is not only is their way of being manipulated unique but it also makes the movement look more natural in general as they are confined to the movement of human joints

Hello Barnaby, I have seen quite a few of your puppets and puppetry videos. And the ones I like the most are the ones done under UV light. So I just wanted to say that if I was going to see such a stage production then I would like to see one done under UV with the performers/puppeteers in black. This would help with my suspension of disbelief. I am sure you have already thought of this. I hope the show will be seen around the world and run for years, as after all your efforts you deserve the recognition. All the best.
