Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

0:18 Hank instantly recognizing the joke in his name and then immediately making fun of it was very cathartic.
Hank is the smartest guy in the Breaking Bad universe
You got me
@@GhilenPeek yet he's too stupid to see....
I love that not only we get a backstory on how Krazy-8 became a DEA informant, why he's actually still unloyal to the DEA despite that, and also that it plays a huge role in BCS.
I'd not use word "huge"
@@ThatOneWalter not huge overall perhaps but his presence kicks off the entire series by forcing Walt to kill him and Emilio in self defense, properly starting Walts' journey into the ruthless megalomaniac Walt becomes.
@@ThatOneWalterOf course it’s huge. This is how Saul met Lalo
@@vendimi9547 Krazy 8 get's a lot of things rolling in both BCS and Breaking Bad, but doesn't actually have that much relevance overall. If that makes sense
SAYL JUST MADE HIM AN IMFORNANT DID YOU WATCH THR VIDEO. SAUL SAID HE WILL BE YOUR OWN PERSONAL "CI" CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT.

Knew a guy from Jersey who worked in sanitation. Whatever happened there.
Krazy-8 when Inzane-9 walks in
And why is six afraid of seven?
To him he’s just 8
@@whateve157 I assume its because 7 is a prime number.. and prime numbers can be intimidating.
I was so happy to see Hank and Steve again when I first watched this episode
Same
Yeah, quite a treat to see them again.
I'm watching in chronological order and can't wait to see how things turn out for them!
@@maicoxmauler2825 eyeroll
@@maicoxmauler2825 They actually end up together... in a way
What a nice scene featuring cameos from three side characters, none of which end up chemically dis-incorporated or left in unmarked graves.
there we get a backstory to why Jessy leads Walt to Saul. Because he has an image of this lawyer getting Krazy-8 out of jail two times when it was absolutely no chance whatsoever to get out
That was Emilio, but same. Emilio probably got out because of his connection to Domingo. They released Emilio because they were after Jesse, and since Emilio died shortly after being released Jesse never thought about how could Emilio be released or he just assumed Saul took care of it
Emilio. Not Krazy 8.
Well, there's alot more than that, as well. Jesse had several reasons. Kim Wexler (the attorney that represented Combo) personally vouched for him. Emilio, and also the fact that by the beginning of Breaking Bad, Saul was also widely known to have gotten Lalo and other high level cartel members out of prison when no one else could have (or would have) done so.
@@zekeiwa5837nah. Emilio was working for the DEA. It was said by hank when him and Krazy 8 disappeared
It was the other way around. Hank said krazy 8 informed on his cousin @@carsten.treudler.2494
On watching this scene it is also alarming how the prison guard is allowed to listen in on the conversation. The guard can clearly see Krazy 8 and also heard every detail of what is happening. Very dangerous
How did that prison guard hear what they’re talking about through 6” thick concrete walls…?
@@THEsageofmali-og2kddoor open
@@THEsageofmali-og2kd....by standing by the door that he opened! Also, with the door opened, all the other convicts in the adjacent cells could hear that he was making a snitch deal. Door should've been closed for crazy 8s protection
@@chillbrobraggins383they are not talking that loudly and there is no way they would be keeping prisoners that close to the Interrogation room.
@@chillbrobraggins383 While it could be a security leak if the guard knows, the room is more than likely in an admin or service building away from accommodations. Otherwise, probably near the control section of the housing unit away from incarcerated movement.
Maybe its nothing but I love to see how these unknown dea agents can see thru Jimmys fake catchy nickname. Its really great to see a show where agents are deadly as criminals
Nice to see them back and how Krazy 8 became an informant
This is the moment Gomey ate gone off frosting
But at least they don’t glaze the donut
I can’t believe Hank almost busted Walter on his first good cook.
I always thought that Krazy-8 being a DEA informant was just a throwaway line by Hank in BrBa. But the crazy bastards in the Better Call Saul's writing team actually wrote in a compelling story behind all of that. BCS is truly a masterpiece of a prequel in that regard.
krazy 8 was itching to snitch
Breaking Bad was definitely the more gripping show it was substance over cinematic. BCS has both. Vince truly grew as a tv creator after El Camino. This whole series is flawless.
Special agent.
You know ... the kind of agent that goes to a special school ... on a special bus.
With special needs...
definetly a saul line lol

Guys I think it's contingent
What does it mean in this context?

Mr Eight did his informing, joined the witness protection program and now owns a diner in Mountainpass, Montana. He absolutely didn’t get killed by a start up drug manufacturer.
Saul cares about his clients you cant take that away from him
This is the moment Krazy -8 becomes Huellberg
Is that why Lalo had something special for him?
Not bad.

Hank dies tho.
Fan service 101.
Not really, since all of this eventually leads to breaking bad if u really think about it
This at least adds context as to how Crazy-8 became a narc for the feds in Breaking Bad. Stupidly, they really didn't do anything with it for the rest of the series.
However, Jesse meeting Kim, now THAT was just blatant fanservice that didn't really add anything to both series other than seeing Kim being sad in the rain.
They look older
They are older
It's called time, dude. Makeup artists can do a lot, but they can't work miracles.

They kinda did Krazy 8 dirty in Better Call Saul

How dare you.
How is Krazy-8 here if he died in Breaking Bad?
It’s like they’re trying to copy their old characters that were amazing on Breaking Bad, but this isn’t working for me. It’s almost like he’s doing an impression of the original Saul.
Well he wasn’t really fully Saul yet was he
I think that’s kind of the point.. we’re supposed to see the progression of Saul before he becomes good at what he does. He’s not quite there yet at this point of the show and he struggles to keep control of the room.
I thought the bumbling was part of the whole act to make it look real
he's still not the "Saul" we know in Breaking Bad in this scene yet.
@@alcapone4635
Yes he is brother he’s defending Krazy 8.
In my opinion when you try to bring characters back when they are older it just doesn’t work. It’s like they are doing a parody of their original character.
