- Broccoli: It's what's stinking up your galaxy. Playing on Grand Admiral (scaling) difficulty with a species setup that is... somewhat less than optimal. This is going to be my hardest game of Stellaris EVER.

I think you forgot to remove the slums for +1 pop, it may help the sooner the later. Great lets play as always!
Quill, the lost starbase is because the empire has the "dark forest" origin and there is an event that fires when the first other empire is met that can cause their "other planet" to attack and destroy a starbase... it could be worse, there is an option to destroy the base AND start an eradicate/contain the threat style war....
North can actually make sense in a galactic context. You can just define it as 90 degrees off the line between your home system and the galactic core along the galactic plane.
If you are worried about defense, then building bastion star bases at the choke points is very strong as the early fleets cannot deal with them at all.

Should have named the desert (hot) world with the magnetic field "electric stove."
My way of remembering dessert vs desert is that Strawberry Shortcake is a dessert, but the desert has Sand.
It's not dumb! My fifth grade teacher taught me the same way to remember how to spell desert and dessert!
A bit late, but you lost your outpost in Firam because the Mandsaurans have the Fear of the Dark origin and their ultra-xenophobic separatists went and blew it up.

@@kissa02 I'm 100% sure that I saw a spaceship. I am 5% sure that they must have changed the picture because I simply cannot see it being anything but a hand any more. :o)
Clerks are terrible, having the pops in any other job is much better.

Quill i officially hate you, i only saw the spaceship at 15:28 but now the hand is real thx for ruining a thousand stellaris hours :D. Still quite cant belive there is a hand and i never saw it in a thousend hours

Quill, clerks give amenities. Way to complain on shortage and ban the clercs.
And unless last patch changed it, the 'autocannons' have LONGE range than lasers. They are weaker because early armor is much more effective than shields.
I think he'd be better off swapping at least 1 energy job to Clerks, trade ~8 energy for ~3 energy + 3 amenities and thereby boost the output of all the other pops.
Anyone give me a headsup why this game is not eligible for achievements? I did miss any mod talk until now, so what s the story? And where do these jump drives come from early on?

I'm not sure as haven't played myself, but doesn't the not hyperdrive civil mean that the cost for claiming new systems is different? I remember seeing a video talking about how you could quickly fly out to other empires, survey and claim chokepoints near them and box them in with closed boarders and then you could take over a lot more and become more powerful that way.
Don't forget that some special modifiers for planets are in the same menu as blockers not just on the main screen
that requires the catapult origin, would have made more sense tho.

I like watching play throughs were ppl ain't 2 sure whats going on ,helps me when im playing, i hate it when ppl play through alone by themselves...then you learn nothing!!!!
Stop trying to remember what certain events do and just pick the choice your species would most likely do. Relax and stop trying to meta game.
You met the "fear the dark" origin empire. They always destroy a starbases of the first aliens they encounter. You got off easy as that event can trigger a total war. As far as I know, total wars cannot be ended until one side annihilates the other.
This campaign stinks. 😅 Get it? My jokes are amazing.
That breath perk is really, really bad. +50% upkeep is crazy and you get 2 gas per 100 pop. 1 chemist gives 2 gas.
Even for roleplaying this is too much and you should remove it
