The expressions on Kachara's face at 5:06 onwards while rendering " Hum logon ka darja hai kya" shows the histrionics talent of this actor.
His scenes made me cry
It shows the real face of Indian caste system. Kachra represents the lowest of the lowest caste and was rejected by the members earlier if not for Bhuvan whose intention was to unite and fight against the problem. Kachra knew if Bhuvan didn't support him, nobody would, that's why that one line reference "Hum Logon ka Darja hai kya" was pictured on him..which hits really hard on India's face.

My mom recorded the music onto an audio cassette for me and my brother to listen to anytime we wanted. Since it was straight from the movie I got used to hearing all the background sounds alongside the music, chickens, squeaky well bucket, talking, etc, so its a little odd to hear just straight music. Still love it! This film was a staple of my growing up.
I get what you mean. Hearing the various noises of the people working in the village added a whole different atmosphere to the music in the movie compared to just the straight song.

Whenever i see bhuvan in this movie i see Saurav "Dada" Ganguly in him, Dada had prepared team from the scratch and brought that confidence,fighting spirit and instinct in team which was clearly lacking in team india back then, no matter how many world cups other captains will bring in home, Dada is my favourite captain as he was the one who built that plaform, that foundation which teams even today are utilising
Aamir's performance & ARR's soundtrack in this film are Oscar worthy. Class acts
I remember the crowd roaring and dancing in theatre during this song. Watching Lagaan in theatre is over the top experience.
I was too small to be in theatre when this came out. I can only imagine how impulsive and exciting it would have been. Only of lagaan could have been made twice. It is certainly impossible ❤️

Came here when Team India qualified for the Final T20 World Cup 2024 after 10 years. Now it's Team India vs Team South Africa. Both are equally great but I want to see Team India lift the T20 WC because our team captain Rohit Sharma and Co. worked so hard and carried our shoulders. If they win it's a big thanks and party from 140 crores Indians and if they lose, we should be proud and happy for qualifying it to the finals. But, the Trophy is the priority at least to see smiles and appreciation. Let's see the result. Come on India

This is my favorite Indian movie. I smile when this movie comes to my mind. Because this film tells about the beautiful Indian culture and the pain of history. It is really sad that such a beautiful nation is exploited for years. And this was the first Indian film I watched. In the meantime, I still do not fully understand the film scene as I do not know much about cricket :).

Got to watch Lagaan in my school Library in Liverpool back in 2006. Coming home to Nigeria in 2013, it was part of the Indian movie festival, dragged my friend to watch it with me. 2017, I am watching it again and honestly I CRY every time I hear 'Chale chalo', the power of this song is infectious. Whether you are Indian or not, you identify with these villagers oppression, passion, the need to stop being helpless and fight. They were just fighting for freedom. Such power in these lyrics. Love it always. (Someone gonna tease this comment now huh?)

This movie was on Polish National TV "TVP" many years ago, on November 11, 2006. November 11, every year, is the anniversary of Polish Independence Day. And it was a movie that I, as a Pole, could identify with. Poland, in a way, also had foregin tyrans for 123 years. And it was a rare time when I got emotional over a movie. It was/is so good.
I was 12 year old when i watched Lagaan in Cinema Hall. It was like never seen before atmosphere in cinema hall. People in climax go so much crazy... It was like World cup final match watching in stadium.. I m so lucky to experience this all 😍😍😍

There would be many other khans in bollywood but Amir khan is always special for me his story selection and his performance are always memorable.
