Three years ago I changed one, but I removed the long metal strip completely, and it was not easy to get it back in exactly the right position. This time, I will use your trick of not removing the strip completely. Thank you so much for your clear and helpful video.

Cracking video. I easily removed all the locking mechanisms. Found that the door lock gear had broken inside. replacement sourced and fitted. Working perfectly. Thank you.
I had to sign on and comment and say THANK YOU SO MUCH, I repaired myself yesterday and followed your every step, lock is now functioning perfectly. Was worried for a few days as my door had no lock and I put a big bar on the handle to prevent someone breaking in.

A nicely presented explanation of lock strip down and replacement - thanks. May I make just one point, once you have removed the screws from the inside securing the door handle face plates, I’d recommend initially leaving the square connecting shaft in position until you have actually removed the external face plate, this will hold the face place plate and prevent it from falling off, potentially getting damaged and avoid unsightly dinks etc. Cheers

You're a Genius. My latch wont retract when operating the handle. I would have gone hell for leather undoing every knut bolt screw etc etc and end up in a metal mess 😂 The video was perfectly done. A great help. I too tried replacing the barrel but there’s nothing really in that to go wrong. I’m gonna get the old lock out and give it a go.

Great video! showed exactly what to unscrew on the metal strip to access and change the gear box, I was going to unscrew everything, this is much clearer.

I replaced my own lock very similar to yours before seeing your video. Definitely a good thing that you took the time to make and post this video as many won't realise how easy this can be. Fair play to you I say.

Thankyou your video showed me how to remove my lock and lubricate all moving parts as I couldn't move it up and down. So far so good after lubricating. Thankyou very much

Thank you , successfully changed central gear , very easy ,service charge 85 pounds . To break open door already paid 85 pounds cash .mine was lockmaster 35 mm single spindle .lots of them available in Amazon.
It's good to see the whole process, also to see you using hand tools not power. Many people use too much force & wreck the threads or screw heads.
I'm just dealing with a wrecked center lock gearbox. The insides are often very weak & easily broken.

Great video personally I would prefer to take the complete mechanism out as not to risk bending the sliding part of the mechanism. But great video well explained.

GREAT VIDEO HELPED SO MUCH But no marking on mine how do i know if its single or twin mine looks simlar to yours
sorted what type it is a single one square but i fitted ia all and cannot get the thin square latch to move I can see it acviated by the key euro cyclinder lock but this part not turning to move the thin square latch
SORTED THANKS did not realise that the door handle moved the slider mechanism which switches latch to lock

Basically, my door is only half locking. I'll lift the handle everything will go into place, then I turn my key and it won't fully lock. It clicks but it's hitting something. I've taken the lock out and it isn't that, that is moving freely, it's the mechanism above the lock that appears to not be doing it's job. Any help with that?

Suggest that you convert to a thumbturn Lock ... Much more practical, equally secure and safer to exit in case of an emergency such as a fire, as the key can't go missing ... ...

@@SJPmatrix As of right now, both phones have already been released, with the Nokia 6300 4G released in India and Vietnam, and the Nokia 8000 4G released in Vietnam. I don't know the release date in any other country, sorry.

My door handle doesn’t trigger the gearbox mechanism but the hooks and sliding bolts work if I manually slide them when the door is open, independent of the handle, I’m gambling that it’s the gearbox that’s faulty.

Video was a great help thank you . Does anyone know how to remove the barrel of the key is broke in it I can't turn it to release it
You drill through the Barrel, start with a small drill bit then bigger and bigger at the same time turn the key back and forth and eventually it will come out. Keep the key on the inside end and start drilling the other side of the key hole of the barrel, drill half way in and then keep drilling the hole bigger and bigger.
