ye, the captains chose to answer the 10th question so everyone got it right. Out of all the contestants in the room, the bald dude did the best and got the right answer up till question 8 and got 9 wrong, only the captains and koenji were able to do 10

She knows exactly who Ayanokouji is, and still tried to challenge him. See her face in the end? She's not sad, not mad, not frustrated...she's just satisfied. All this time people hating on her bc she acts "arrogant", but she just wants to be next to her "idol". Honestly? I respect Arisu even more now.
So, basically she wants 2 things if i understood this right:
A) She wants to prove a natural genius (like her) is superior to an artificial genius, and doing that, she wants to B) prevent those facilities from continuing existing so these children can't be treated like this anymore.

*Ayanokouji is arrogant, even tho he's quiet, but nobody says anything.
*Ryuen was SUPER arrogant himself, but nobody hated him
*Koenji is the best character, but even tho, he is arrogant as heck, and nobody says anything either
Which makes me think? WHY PEOPLE GET SO BOTHERED BY ARISU? And honestly, after talking to a few people in the comments, i have a theory: people usually don't like when "weak" characters act high and mighty, right? So here's the thing: people DO SEE ARISU AS WEAK, and that's why they are so bothered by her attitude. One dude even said to me she should "act like a weak person she is bc she is crippled, and shouldn't act prideful"....literally this is the exact reason Arisu is always trying to demonstrate superiority, bc people DO TREAT HER like she is weak, and that bothers her (even tho she doesn't talk about it). Even the audience confirms what she thinks: if you're crippled, you have no right to act arrogant, bc you're weak. Only the strong ones can act like that, right?
Honestly, this kind of thought disgusts me.

@K.D.Sedits i didn't mention but since you brought this up, yes, the fact that she's a girl also counts. One dude ALSO told me it's different when a girl and guy act arrogant, and that when it's a girl it pisses him off......i literally had no words when i read that
Tbh Ryuen was kinda entertaining, but in the moment he started to beat girls i was like "ok dude you need to go".
So in the end, it's not "bc she is arrogant", it's bc "she is arrogant but she's not a badass"....which i disagree but i digress.
I do think everyone (or at least 95% of the people) interpreted Arisu's smile wrong. She is not smilling bc she thinks she's better than other people (she is, but that's another story LOL), but bc she enjoys herself when she gets challenged by something. In this case, people interpreted her constant smile as "she is underastimating Ayanokouji", but no, she never did. She KNOWS WHO THIS GUY IS, and she STILL challenged him, which, imo, gives me total respect for her. Different with Ryuen, who didn't know who Ayanokouji was, she does, and she really doesn't care if she loses. See how, despite losing and knowing he is better, she was still smiling? That's a W character for me.
@@josemanuelvelasquezsantael8928 I can blame other people in the moment they criticize an aspect of her character but they don't do the same with other characters who are WORSE than her.
And to explain better: she never tried to get Ayanokouji expelled. She did all that to get YAMAUCHI expelled. Some people say it was an over the top thing to do, but when i try to put myself in her place, i kinda get it. Imagine: you were born physically weak, and even tho you're smart, people all underastimate you bc of your condition, and you KNOW you are smarter than them but at the same time you have to accept being looked down bc you are physically weak. Then a dude LITERALLY trip you and, above that, call you a klutz IN FRONT OF THE PERSON YOU ADMIRE.......tbh, even tho i wouldn't go that far, i totally understand her behavior towards that dude. He was trash too, everybody knows that.

Technically, no, the anime screwed up. Katsuragi and Matsushita got question 10 answered correct due to Kiyotaka and Arisu answering the question on their behalf, thus they got question 10 correct. However, the Captains can only answer the question for one person, thus the girl on Class A team got the question wrong. Koenji got the question right but he didn't answer within the time frame and so though he could have answered the question, it still counts as him being wrong.
Congrats on being the first anime only person to figure out koji wants to lose to prove his father wrong

Honestly even without being in love, I always had a feeling of her not being or feeling malicious towards Ayanokoji. Saying that she'll leave the school if she loses against him while she'll expose him for being the genius pulling the strings if she wins was a clue. Because threatening to expose someone's talent hardly feels dangerous to me😂
Flash mental arithmetic was a test where multiple numbers would flash in the screen.
You gotta remember them all and calculate the total value of it mentally and give the answer .
I forgot which arithmetical operator they were supposed to use here , but seeing the answer and question digit length, it was most prolly addition (+).
I think when you said "this girl talk too much" you were with the impression (a lot of people apparently thought the same) that Arisu was underastimating him....she wasn't. She knows who he is. Differently how it was with Ryuen's case, she KNOWS Ayanokouji is better, but she enjoys that, and still challenged him anyways. Tbh i kinda respect characters like that lol
Yeah, you got the idea right on Kouenji. Ayanokoji placed in somewhere he could sabotage the team the least, but would all but guarantee the win if he did decide to contribute. Kouenji decided that he was not going to contribute and didn't bother answering any questions besides the last one to prove a point that he would've won if he wanted to.
He's like of the antithesis of Ayanokoji. One goes out of their way to hide that they're the best and focuses on improving the class from the shadows instead of simply carrying them through everything. The other makes it abundantly clear he's the best at everything, but refuses to be contribute unless he feels like it. Like Ayanokoji said back towards the start of the season, Kouenji is the one person he can't manipulate into moving the way he wants him to because he's inflexible and doesn't operate based on logic or rationale.
Ayanokojis losing on purpose wouldnt prove anything to himself, yes he wants to lose so that he can belive more in humaity, but losing on purpose would be a hallow victory and just go against his belife that emotions are a positive thing. Also he losses his protection point bringing him one step closer to explosion.

losing purpusly wouldnt work, it has to be him failing while trying to success, since many times ayanokoiji didnt win in the year but he wasnt really trying either
The real reason for his loss, I do not think that he was a fair player. There is something greater than just a superficial reason like this for Kiyotaka, and you will see it in the coming events.

I think the anime version changed the scene a bit because if I remember it correctly, in the light novel, Ayanokoji's mouse/pencil isn't working. This shows that Ayanokoji can manipulate the guy who tries to sabotage him to move exactly what he wants without the guy knowing, which shows that he's more intelligent than the anime version Lerche displayed here.
