    Interesting to hear your thoughts with your image taking. What stood out to me is that you usually have a clear idea for a picture, and then you wait for random person(s) to walk in the frame. Why is that important for you when you have a detailed and interesting composition already?

      Good point! Sometimes I admit it is not necessary but also sometimes I know it and take photos without people into them 👍🏻

    never gave any consideration of using a prime 50 for street photos so i'm glad that i came across some fine examples from your video. i'm certainly going to give it a try now.

    The scene at the end was so sweet, I think you made her day! Beautiful shots today! I need to pick up a 50mm for my next trip there, the 27mm was really wide and I struggled a lot with subject separation across all the wider open spaces.

    Your photos are full of contrast, in a very, very pleasant way. I love your sense for spotting those contrast scenes. Anyway your photos then looks a little bit personalized. Could you share some video, how you are creating such photos (postprocessing)?

    Reminds me of the Dogen skit. You didn't get jouzu'd by the old lady, but instead asked how long you've been in Japan. That's when you know you're truly fluent in Japanese

    I have a question about how you expose - you never ETTR, use Zebras (set to 109 lower limit) or the histogram even?
    I have recently started doing all three and I think my photos have a bit less noise now.
    I don’t know if it is a question or suggestion 😊 but nice video

      Thanks, I never use these tools. I always judge by eye and really don't worry about a little bit of noise

      Thanks! I went pretty hard with the mass immersion approach. I did not use any textbook and spent as much time listening and at a later stage reading true, Japanese media made for Japanese

    I really hope Sony is gonna release a new version of the 50mm f1.8 My copy is pretty sharp, but the autofocus is slow, inaccurate and pretty loud. If they could put a better autofocus motor in there then it would be awesome!
