I have been making this pattern and to use a 2x4, you have to shrink the pattern to 80% to make it fit on the 1-1/2" side. I have been using a 4x4 with the pattern at 100%. To eliminate the extra waste on the 4x4, I place an 80% pattern on the other side and thus get 2 reindeer from the wood, a large and small. Nice video, thanks!
Do you have any plans for the reindeer you cut in this video. It looks great. Too complicated for without a drawing/plan. Will you be able to make one. Let us please know.
Ted is correct. The smaller the blade the smaller curves it can cut. I have a video on how to adjust the guides. This helps out a lot for blade tracking!
takes lots of practice. Scroll saws are way more forgiving on tight corners. They will bounce the wood up and down if you bind the blade. Band saw blades go in one direction so they just snap. Of course very few scroll saw could cut this and they are way slower. I just said that as many people jump from a scroll to band saw. Much easier to go the other way.

Like the comments while you cut. I am an impatient bandsaw guy and the results show it. Your style and comments gave me some skills to practice. Thx
Awesome! Thank you!
Mike, could you please give your audience a copy of this deer? I would like to make it but can't find your pattern. Thanks, Mo
Wow this is really cool
Good job
Thanks
Do you have any plans / drawings available?
Not yet.... I will try to draw some up on CAD and get them saved as PDF in time for Christmas.
I have a set of plans posted in the description! thanks

Wow you made that a ton of hard work for yourself... I make similar but more detailed ones and create 3 or 4 in the time it took you to make one.
Looks good!
There does not seem to be a template for this deer in the description or in the comments. Would you be able to post one? Thanks!
a cool reindeer
I just bought a band saw. How do you go around the curves without having the blade bend? TIA

Waiting for your video...
Good Lord man watch Alex Snodgrass's video cutting those out. And get yourself a Carter stabilizer for the small blades,
Not everyone is a show-off or willing to produce 10,000 of those.
