1996 Losar Pt1 - Lama Tharchin performs the rare Black Hat dance, Anam Thubten and Orgyen Chowang

Tibetan New Year is called Losar is in February, however this dance and the following part 2, symbolizes letting go of all our negativity as we enter the new year, so I am sharing now. Lama Tharchin Rinpoche gave me permission to film this at the Vajrayana Foundation/Pema Osel Ling in the Santa Cruz mountains where I lived and studied with the lamas for many years. They made all the art, the huge statue of Guru Rinpoche there, and learned the dances.
