I'm 21 and I grew up adoring this movie! I'm not a boy, and I don't play baseball, but I found myself deeply relating with the kids and loving the story. Every scene is memorable, and the lessons and characters still hold up to this day for me.
that's deep!
"All the kids turned out really successful!"
...Bertram got 'really into the 60's' and no one ever saw him again.
Got into the Hippie Movement
Aka "Took way too much acid".
I always wondered what happened to him after all this time .
Maybe he did become successful..... opened up a string of bong shops, and changed his name.
He was successful in his own way
The new store looks like a Blockbuster in the middle of a "Everything must go" sale
“What could possibly ruin The Sandlot?”
The sequel...
And the third... thing
That exists I guess
Which of all?
BULL CRAP, the second movie was great.

On one of your shelves, can you start to fill it with all the videos you have reviewed already?
sidjustice43 and at the end of the episode they can put the movie they just reviewed on that shelf. Good idea!
That shelf is for the movies for mom and dad.
Thats a genius idea! Yeeeeessss.
If you look carefully at the top shelf it looks like that's what they're doing... True Lies and Event Horizon are the movies on top.
EPIC idea!
*The Sandlot* is *Stand By Me* but played in Major.
Ahahahaha I'm going to use this musical analogy from now on
@MANCHESTER UNITED
Popular =/= important.
Not trying to say baseball is actually important, just saying soccer sucks.
Only musicians will get this 😅
Crazy how accurate that is
I still to this day say "for-ev-er" the same way they did in this movie lol
We all do.
Every time it's the last word in a sentence in conversation, I repeat it. I only exaggerate like in the movie if I'm around someone I know won't judge me, but I'm always thinking of that scene.
Same here !
Bertram got really into the 60s and no one ever saw him again.
We know what that means... Lol
That part always did disturb me a bit.
Yessss I knew one of them had something weird
I dont get it...
@@evaandreu5124 one of the kids became a hippie and they lost touch forever
The Titanic VHS sitting there reminds me of every thrift store I have ever been to.
Yep
That top gun and Independence Day are so common in thrift stores
Every time this movie used to come on TV I always end up watching it all the way through.
same such a classic!
Same here!
I watched the sandlot like 56 times
Classic movie never gets old
I also loved watching ms doubtfire
Robin William's performance in that movie should have won him a oscar
Yeah yeah same here
That's me with Casino.
I feel like James had a great rant on dog balls that got shut down....
I read the comment before I got there in the video. I was like "wtf" and then I was like "oh ha!"
What a classic... Here in Mexico was on TV all the time
El sultan del guante, el rey del bat, el gran bambino, Babe Ruth!!
En el canal 7 aca en el DF jaja

You guys should review the mighty Ducks. That's the movie that got me to try hockey and play hockey in the street with my friends
Yeah, definitely one of the best kids sports movies
I want to play tongue hockey with my neighbor’s wife
It got me really into hockey too. Turns out I can't skate.
The sequel was actually just as enjoyable. Something most movies dont succeed with
Hack the Movies does one.
I miss the old store.😭
Agreed
Jeffery Carnes, was James’ wife sick of the smell?
Tony looking like he works at domino's 🍕
CHESSNUTYOGURT he’s the new Noid
What a beautiful nostalgia trip disguised in a super-convincing and natural story about boyhood. This just absolutely nails what it's like to grow up as a young, adventurous boy before the time of smartphones. Going outside, playing backyard sports, riding bikes, swimming at the pool, attending a local carnival, playing in a treehouse - it simply romanticizes childhood, which is why this film is timeless.
i've had mastiffs for years, the best most laid back kind dogs i know
Yea, when you're the one that owns them 🤣
I love this movie so much. The child actors were amazing here. They're all human
No one was a crab preson
oh man, this whole time I thought they were office lamps.
Do you know something we don't?
I think we can all agree, that "The Sandlot" is the greatest family and kid friendly movie of all time.
you forgot to mention the iconic line "You're killing me Smalls!"
Has to be the most quoted line from the movie in real life. Used when you are trying to explain how to do something.
But, how can I have more of something, if I hadn't had anything yet??
I know...the most iconic line in movie history..
One of my faviorite lines in the movie is when Babe Ruth tells Benny "Remember kid there's heroe's and there's legends. Hero's get remmebered but legends never die, follow your heart kid and you'll never go wong." That line has always stuck me in life.
This movie and Heavyweights were my childhood staples
What about camp nowhere?
Agreed
@@JundaMane The blonde in Camp Nowhere....
Great movie, but not as great as TMNT and 3 Ninjas!!!!
Rookie of the Year???
"Heroes get remembered but Legends never died." Is both a memorable and quotable line that I'm glad this movie had conjured up. Love the Sandlot instant classic. 🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒
"You bob for apples in the toilet, and you *like* it."
That snaps game was so savage. The purity of 60s era insults.
"You play ball like a girl" was so brutal back then that it stopped the damn music.
Not just any autographed team ball. It was the 1927 NY Yankees the greatest baseball team of all time.
I just showed this movie to my 8 year old. It is now her favorite movie now. She even wrote about it at school. So it still holds up today
It'll hold up forever.
i watched this movie tons of times, it truly got me into baseball as im sure it did for many kids. I played baseball for 9 years probably all because of the sandlot. timeless movie
Thank you, James! "The Sandlot" (1993) is one of my favorite Baseball Coming-of Age Family Comedy and still the best! Ham Porter is my favorite character of the group, "You're Killing Me, Smalls!", "You Play Ball Like A Girl!"
Should do Little Giants next. That was a similar one of my favorites as a kid.
That movie is terrible, that one was movie day everytime at my school.
That movie is damn near scene for scene rip off of Necessary Roughness.
The Annexation of Puerto Rico
The Little Rascals - The Sandlot - Goonies - The Stream are my go to movies when I want to remember how awesome my childhood was. 😊
I've talked to 2 of the child actors from that Little Rascals movie, Bug Hall and Kevin Jamal Woods, they're both really cool guys. Bug Hall even watched some of my videos and was very impressed.
Everyone: "How long does the Rental Reviews store have to stay in that new store?"
James: :::adjusts his glasses::: "For-ev-vur! For-ev-vur!"
Sandlot is an absolute classic. Definitely one of my favorite movies and always find myself coming back to it.
I bet you've never seen it.
SuperWheatley what makes you say that?
@@kevinliebaert intuition
SuperWheatley Well I grew up with this movie and have seen it countless times but you can believe what you want. Don’t know why I would lie about something as stupid as seeing a movie.
Tony: "I was just really let down..."
Tony's Parents: "Now you know how we feel........"
I am so glad that James brought up the movie Problem Child 2 when talking about the barf scene.
I was ready to break my phone in half if they weren't going to mention Stand By Me's barf scene
Well now you have to do, Stand by Me (1986).
Is there another movie called Stand By Me?
@@moviemetalhead Yeah the Michael Bay remake
moviemetalhead, with all the reboots and such I figured there was. There isn't?
@@Dirtybob23 No.
Damn! That's Marley Shelton from Sin City, Planet Terror, and Warriors Of Virtue as Wendy Peffercorn!
My favorite quote is J. E. Jones saying "I take it back, you're not in trouble. You're dead where you stand."
I actually just rewatched this movie a few weeks ago on my VCR!
I'm popping that tape in right now!!
A VCR? What's that, some kind of new tablet?! ROFL
The Sandlot is one of those favorites I watched growing up.
I like the "Time Travel-The Bible" tape to the left of James.
I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who was entirely distracted by that.
Love to see yall do Stand by Me and Raising Arizona
A League of Their Own is a great baseball movie as well.
"There's no crying in baseball!!"
It's a good movie too. The Natural and Field of Dreams are also excellent.
Oh yeah, no doubt.
It doesn't compare to the Sandlot. Sorry.
@@samkinison2375 Who said I was comparing the two?
No ones gonna say bull durham?
Not trying to be an ass, but maybe people who don’t genuinely enjoy baseball should be saying what they think is the best baseball film
Hell yeah! You're killing me Smalls! 🤣
*OMG, YES!!!* Such a classic but saddly forgotten movie! Best part was the exponentially absurd urban legend revolving around the big pooch and his victims; all while being pictured as a giant, savage monster.
Unfortunately, Hollywood will never, EVER create nor rightfully replicate movies like this one in the present... Not anymore. 😖
*Please, please, PRETTY PLEASE* choose *WILLOW* for the next video! The young and future generations must know of it.
Couldn't have said it better myself... The words fail me to describe how authentically delightful and touching it is.
@There Be No Sheeple Here Context, my friend; read what Ed and I talked about.
I like how Tony tells the story about his family's mastiff like a (not so) fond remembrance from early childhood, but when you check the timeline he was straight up 25. lol
This was my shit back in the day. I remember I had a VHS copy of Sandlot and I would wear it out so much that it would cut off right when they go to James Earl Jones' house and give him his ball back. It's a tale as old as past-time.
Sandlot is one of the best movies of the 90s for me. It's very quotable and brings back a lot of great memories. I have nothing bad to say about it. I love it.
I pretty much never leave comments on UA-cam.
This is one of my favourite childhood movies. Very few people I've ever met even heard of it.
I really like the review videos you make. I've never been a big fan of the nerd persona, but I watch pretty much all of these.
Great video.
you need to hang out with people who dont live in your own junkyard. i NEVER met a person who HASN'T heard/seen this movie. it's the '94 Citizen Kane Undertaker.
Loved this film as a kid. Still love it as an adult!👌🏻👍🏻
The great Bambino "THAT'S THE SAME GUY!!! I loved the kids the delivery on that line it makes me laugh every time 😂
the carnival incident made me laugh pretty good. would like to see the whole clip lol. very nice work guys and this movie is my favorite sports flick as well.
Dude all in school all we watched were remember the titans and the sandlot! Still both great feel good, heartwarming movies to me!!
What was it about this being the go-to movie for schools? I grew up in the Austin area and we watched this all throughout middle school.
This movie is a true classic, and it was from day one. Hell it gave the world, "You're *killing* me Smalls!" Good old Ham.
"Ahhh..You killed me!!"
The obviousness of it is what makes it funny lol
Tony looking like the new CEO of domino's pizza 😂
Bahahahahah!
I talk about The Sandlot in the same way most people my age talk about The Goonies.
I do the same with both, but I think the Goonies edges out Sandlot, simply because Cindy Lauper, along with the various WWF wrestlers at the time did the music video for the movie, which was an MTV premiere event in itself at the time.
They deserve to be spoken of in the same breath. True classics of the age.
The Goonies is so overrated. I dunno...I saw it on VHS when it came out in the 80s, and it was okay. But I just don't see the huge appeal. I revisited it a couple times since, and it's like...whatever. I have a lot more nostalgia and fondness for stuff like Star Wars, Robocop, Aliens, Labyrinth, and Top Gun. The Goonies is kind of weak.
I think most of the romance with the Goonies was that it was an adventure kids would have loved to gone through... but I was more of the Sandlot kind of kid, my childhood summers were spent at the local BMX track and playing street hockey... the Sandlot friendship was almost spot on with my group of friends
Oh same!
I always loved this movie as a kid. My grandfather was blind growing up and James earl jones’ character always reminds me of him back then ❤️
The "for ever" scene has been stamped in my brain ever since I1st watched this movie back in 93, also "you're killing me Small's"
You’re killing me smalls.
Monty Python's The meaning of life has one hell of a projectile vomit scene
Can I hear James talk a little more about one of his favorites films, and a little less of long dog stories from Tony ?
The sandlot still exists! Every 5 years the cast and director show the movie on the sandlot and the public is invited. Last year was the 15th anniversary and it was a great time. Nothing like watching your child hood favorite from the pitcher's mound of the actual sandlot!
Idk why, but every time I hear the name Sandlot, I start to smile and think of my childhood.
Same for me when I hear someone say the holocaust. :)
yah boi yaa 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤔
That's natural.
Next time, you should do The Goonies movie on Rental Reviews someday
Instant like, instant favorites list. Thank you guys for covering this movie. :)
I love how 90s the new rental store feels. Reminds me of all those places at my local mall when I was a kid.
Sandlot is the movie that so many current movies are trying desperately to imitate.
@@HOTD108_ I the he may refers to It, Scary Stories to tell in the Dark and the serie Stranger Things but I think that Stranger Things copies Stand By Me.
@@Gottico69 nah, they all try to be a stephen king/late 80's teen com youth story, i haven't seen anything in over 20 years that tried to be this movie.
You are thinking of It and Stand by Me. Sandlot is a different type of movie. More heart warming less dark.
Posting for the examples im sure are coming
@@charliericker274 Technically they are both in the genre of "coming of age" Many films share genres doesn't really mean it's imitation.
The guy who played Yeah Yeah sells printer toner to my girlfriends work now, he was just at the field of dreams a week or so ago
Yeah yeah.....
This is probably my favorite movie of all time, despite the fact that I’m not into baseball. I think the growing-up, coming-of-age story between friends is a really touching story. Thank you James and Cinemasaccre for the review!
5:31 that clip of Justin is gold
All the kids grew up and became successful..... except for the one kid that disappeared and was never heard from again.
@PJ No, I had to rewatch the ending just to get this right. The chunky read head kid (Hamilton) who you're talking about became a professional wrestler called "The Great Hambino". The tall kid with the glasses (Bertram) "Really got into the 60's and no one ever saw him again".
@PJ Ah, well at least were both in the same boat of misunderstanding 😆.
Watching the Clip of Justin at the Carnival brought me to Tears 🤣🤣🤣🤣 that poor guy!!
Hands down one of my Favorite movies!!!
Thanx for covering it!
THANK YOU guys for reviewing this movie I was waiting for Minty to review for years and now this.

One of the kids had a bad ending didn't he? I remember he was into the sixties movement or something and that he disappeared and no one heard from him ever again.
5:30 just made my life complete.
I can relate to puking from bad tobacco. When i was a small child, we was out in the field loading square bales of hay. The temperature was about 95 degrees and we was taking a break. An older gentleman took out a pouch of loose chewing tobacco and passed it around to us. It was red man, bull of the woods, snuff and bloodhound all cut up and mixed together in the same pouch. To say we was sick, was an understatement. The man we was helping was pissed off, cause all of his help was laying all around the truck, so sick that we could barely stand. We still had about 400 bales to load that day.
Best movie ever. So many iconic scenes. The S'more scene is just epic. "You want a s'more?" "Some more what? I haven't had anything." Ham proceeds to explain how to make a s'more hahaha
I forgot about this movie. It was one of my favorite childhood movies.
With all the shirts and nostalgia I'm surprised you forgot
How could you have forgotten about this absolute gem?
No you didn’t
If it was one of your favorites as a child, why would you forget it?
Bring Back The Old Store !
Bertram got really into the '60s, and no one ever saw him again.
That was my favorite part about the epilogue
They blew 3 expensive vacuums, destroyed a neighbor's fence, got dog slobber on a baseball signed by a legend, ran through a theater screen, ruined a wonderful neighborhood picnic but yeah sure, they got the ball back.

My VHS copy of this was one of my most prized possessions as a kid, watched it no telling how many times(I had the really big box version). I haven’t watched it in probably 15 years at this point.
