The steel bezel is nice. But the hands are too skinny, short small. The logo is a bit cheesy, with improperly depicted spearguns. Price is good. But with such a chunky case, larger hands would look better proportioned
I’m not much into homage/copy watches, but when you do something really different to make the watch stand out…. I can support it! If I were in the hunt for this style, this one would be a contender for my $100USD.
Think dried hard pack snow dial. I put mine on a Barton whiteish canvas strap. Best white dial watch for under a$100 you can get. In my opinion. The stainless bezel works well with the dial color. I love mine.
That dial is really neat. I like it a lot, though yeah I see salt flats, which is fine. It’s nature you don’t see represented in a watch face. The whole thing is outstanding value and I was surprised at the lume strength.
I'm a proud owner of this one for some time already. It runs really well, everything is aligned properly, bezel action is just right. The lume may be not "world class" when it comes to duration, but it's quite OK (I've seen worse on more expensive watches), and it looks great in my opinion. While I'm not a big fan of Addiesdive logo, it actually fits this watch. And oh boy, do I love this dial! My only gripes are: - bracelet - it's not like it is low quality or anything. It's reasonably well-made and comfortable, just... boring (and unsigned), - crown guards. I know it's a turtle, but crown doesn't pop too far on this one, so it can be a bit of pain to wind it. If you store your watches like me in an exhibition case on a stiff pillows, you have to take the watch off of it completely in order to wind it. Overall quality is actually amazing. I wear all of my watches even at work, which requires some manual labor, and can be "dangerous" to watches. Even though, I still haven't noticed any scratches on a watch head of this model (bracelet is a different thing). I know, that there are several "Ali" brands manufacturing the same model; I can honestly recommend the one from Addiesdive. I DON'T own a similar watch from Steeldive yet, so I can't make comparison, though.
Just purchased this watch in the recent Aliexpress sale for £44. For the price the build quality is impressive. The lume is good and the dial fantastic. I have already swapped out the bracelet for a black sailcloth strap. With an FKM rubber strap in white on order.
Please, I shouldn't watch this I've been so good during the sale, still loving my Steeldive 1970 version in black, even with the crappy stamped old-school bracelet. Great review as always!
I'm waiting on the Steeldive black dial version at the moment. Just my experience but the steeldives just seem to be one step or so above Addiesdive. And I paid $116 aussie, so what, just under $75USD for mine 😊
My Willard Homage on a Tropic FKM is literally my favorite watch, and it’s the cheapest watch I own. I like it so much I’m definitely going to get another one with a different dial (maybe this one - and yup definitely more cracked earth than waves). Those Macro Shots though, and all for for a $100. Wow… Thanks as always!
I bought 3 for last Xmas 1 for my brother, stepfather, and myself. It's a really good watch on wrist. It's an interesting and classy watch. It's one of my favourites.
Thanks for the video. I purchased the watch last month after watching your excellent videos 👍🏾. So far I have bought 3 different models of Addiesdive Automatic watches. Please do you know how many years an Automatic watch could last? 🤔🤔
Noticed today on the watchdives website that the green Willard is sold out. So glad I bought mine when I did. It's way better in person. I need to add a San Martin to my collection.
Mine got in Friday, I absolutely love the dial. I've been trying some different bracelets and leather straps. It looks really good on a darker brown strap as well.
The dial reminds me of the occluded, patterned glass you can get in "frosted" front doors, but yes I totally get the salt flats reference. It's nice enough and decent for the money.
Another winner video. Keep them coming! I Iike the watch and I have room as I recently gave my Steeldive to my son (after spending a week trying to unfreeze the rusted springbars). BTW the compound I used also disintegrated the bezel glue. So new spring bars and some super glue and a Bond nato from in the drawer and winner all round. Hopefully the gaskets weren’t effected (but most likely were). LOL. All that to say well done Jody and Merci!
I got this one! Got it only about a month ago. I've been wearing it as my daily driver since and really do like it. That face being water on a surface of a lake, nah. It's brother is the watch for that. Its the same style face but they made cocktail watch from the Addisdive catalogue, but that one has a blue sheen/enamel applied to the same white/champagne texture of this one. Wish that had have been in this watch honestly, maybe I'll do a custom when the warranty goes on this one as the blue sheen version looks heaps nicer to me from the photos and somehow, that makes more sense to me given it is a dive watch. Water-dive-watch. Get it? LOL. As for the build quality I agree the watch and case itself really do shine for the price (I paid a little more than you Jody getting it from a local Aussie reseller for under $150) but I have really been pleased. Yeah I agree the band is a cheapy and I'm looking for something better long term I'll swap out but for the price it's fine for now. Bit of a hair pincher too I've been finding. Oh one thing, those plastic cases it came in, 50c lol, how come I see them everywhere for $10 a piece here in my neck of the woods!?! HAHA. Anyhow, I agree and it is interesting enough to be a diver that's more dressy than plan and utilitarian. Certainly looked like wore well on your arm indeed too.
I got mine for $60 a few months ago. It’s actually very good quality. No play in the bezel. Everything perfectly aligned. Lume is great, lasts all night. Bracelet is not the worst. And best of all, looks fantastic!
I'm more of a 36 to 40mm guy. Maybe up to 42mm for a slim/lightweight overall watch like the SWC Bunker. I have both Steeldive and a San Martin Willard homages. I do kind of love the darker blue of the San Martin but I don't think it justifies that added cost. At this point, if I didn't have either of those watches, I might ante up for this one. Loving that dial. I do like brushed stainless bezel inserts though a this point, I mostly only wear the Steeldive when we are going to be outside in the evening and then, mostly for that lumed insert so I'd think about getting this one and swapping the clasp and maybe a matte/brushed ceramic lumed insert and selling the Steeldive and San Martin.
I started to order this at the $55 sale price, but ordered the Steeldive 600T in white instead. I just prefer white dials to have black hands and indeces for visibility. Almost got it for a hand swap mod, but couldn't decide how that would look with silver indeces. Nice looking watch, though.
Cracked salt flat dial is a pretty good description. I like it. Grand Seiko dial vibe. Been toying with the purchase-and I’ve already got the SD1970 🤷♂️
Hey! Good review. I have a Steeldive (non logo) which I love. Can't seem to find the non logo version. Am I missing something or do they not sell that version anymore?
The most important dimension for how a cushion case looks is the bezel OD, yet it’s so rarely listed; would appreciate if it was added to your reviews.
I'm not a fan of the Willard size/style watches but man, that dial. Indeed, looks like a salt flat pattern to me, although in nature, many of them are light brown. I look forward to future innovative dial designs at affordable prices.
The dial is interesting. Scorched earth? Salt flats? Yeah, I can see that. At first glance though I thought 'cobblestone ice' which if you have every driven on is memorable for the wrong reasons. I do like the dial texture but would be more interested in a different color. I'm not normally a Tiffany blue fan but with that texture it could work. As would a red, or a yellow and especially orange.
Hello Jody, I got the Steeldive on your recommendation sometime ago and I enjoy wearing it. I may get one of these for the change of look. keep up the good work
When I saw this pop up my first thought was, how has he got this already... Then you said it was ordered during the last sale. I actually ordered one of these during the current sale. They were even cheaper around the $50 mark. For that price, it was a no-brainer.
I have this one. Looks very gorgeous and better in real, is well constructed, and the dial is really eye catcher. I buyed because its dial makes it a very different and original homage to the Cpt. Willard, and that´s a really good point in todays clone watch world
I love the texture to these dials. Makes me think of a sandy ocean floor. I`ve made many mods with the same type of dial, and they are always stunning. Lots more coming as well. Great video as always my friend! Keep it up!
Grabbed one of these yesterday actually, but just seen this vid today. Not watched it yet, but a buddy bought one of these, and i was mighty impressed with it (to the point i bought one myself). Looking forward to it arriving!!! Good vid Jody - the clasp thing; it's never really bothered me, as it's something that's almost never seen by anbody else. It's perfectly functional, so isn't an issue. I have the SD1970 as well, and i think they will complement each other nicely.
Hi, Jodie, for this watch what size of clasp would you advise via your link, 20, 18mm, or smaller pls? BtW, on the Choice sale its even less $82.58 AUD at checkout! Added a black silicone dive strap and the total went down to $79.29 AUD. Is it too good to be true?
Jodie, have you tested a Rdunae Retangula Willard yet? I have one and compared to the “picks and niggles” others give to the Addiesdive and Steeldive versions, I have not really had issue with my Rdunae. The only drawback is the 19mm lug width, but the “chocolate bar” band it comes with makes the width tolerable.
Lovely looking watch. Nearly opted for this last week in the current AliExpress sale but decided to go for the Black Steeldive instead. Should be here anyday👍👍
The bracelet has nothing wrong with it. It looks good including the clasp and it functions well. I cannot understand this fixation with stock bracelets not being good enough. Nice review! Liked.
Lovely review Jody. But never mind which one to buy, if you're a collector, get both! The dial is a lovely alternative, and I'd suggest, inspired by some of the Grand Seiko dials, such as the texture of the White Birch dial.
I bought one and the quality is not of the Steeldive. The bracelet didn't fit the end links, was really difficult to get out, and I doubt I'd get it back in. The dial is really cool but I find it's the only good thing here. Even the mismatched hands and markers bug me.
This one has a chapter ring unlike other addiesdive 6105 iterations. They have the minute on the dial. I think the chapter gives it a much more cohesive look.
I have that watch and the dial steel the show, always wanted to get a Willard homage and glad i didn't getvthe standard one, before this dial option became available. Definitely a great summer watch in white.
Totally the look of sunlight refracted on sandy shallows. If they can do one in light brown or misty green with white crests it would be unreal. Cool show -- it took me 3/4 of the way through the vid to realise it wasn't a Steeldive (I did wonder what happened to the caseback....) 👍
Textured dials in bright white colors is very attractive adds a lot of character. Not into the blobby case but wow a great value even with the tin bracelet.
That dial would look great on a no bezel sports watch. My current favorite in my collection is the Addies quartz sub. Sub $40 and the best lume in my collection.
I know this is super old, but I'll answer anyway. The NH35 begins it's transition phase for the date wheel at 10 PM relative to the watch face. Since we're looking at 10 past 10 it's started to move the date wheel. It will continue to slowly move it until a couple minutes before midnight when it will click over and snap the next date into the window.
This review made my buy a steeldive - I might try that addiesdive blue wave though. If they put that colour on a turtle and changed the bezel colour, I probably would have done it, I just dont like the white.
What size is the clasp replacement for this watch? I'm ordering the watch and want to order the better clasp along with it. Best I can tell it's either 18mm or 20mm. Anyone here know which?
$55 US in the current sale. Hard to say no. I love the dial.
Ooftie! That is cheeeeeap!
Just ordered one at $55 US.
The steel bezel is nice. But the hands are too skinny, short small. The logo is a bit cheesy, with improperly depicted spearguns.
Price is good. But with such a chunky case, larger hands would look better proportioned
$55 you say... well, that might push me over the edge.
@@moshealexander6639 Just checked, still $55.
I’m not much into homage/copy watches, but when you do something really different to make the watch stand out…. I can support it! If I were in the hunt for this style, this one would be a contender for my $100USD.
“Too stiff is always better than too floppy.” That’s definitely what she said.
As someone loving motoring history, particularly boundary pushing by underdogs, I love the idea of the dial replicating a dry salt flat.
A cracking ice shelf maybe? Not a fan of this case style, but the dial is nice enough I'd consider recasing it into something else.
I honestly see the light patterns on a sandy sea/lake floor in that dial.
I'm a proud owner of this one for some time already. It runs really well, everything is aligned properly, bezel action is just right. The lume may be not "world class" when it comes to duration, but it's quite OK (I've seen worse on more expensive watches), and it looks great in my opinion. Sandy ocean bottom is what I'm seeing.
That's what you see when you fall off of your surfboard
What you're actually looking at is a homage to the king Seiko birch-bark watch
I don't surf, but I do plenty of recreational scuba diving.
It does have that look also.
Bottom 😊
Just purchased this watch in the recent Aliexpress sale for £44. For the price the build quality is impressive. The lume is good and the dial fantastic. I have already swapped out the bracelet for a black sailcloth strap. With an FKM rubber strap in white on order.
4:50 I went looking for the link for your recommended replacement clasp but didn’t find it in the video description. Can you share it?
Just added it to the description!
Love the Amiga T shirt. I still have an Amiga 1000.
Please, I shouldn't watch this I've been so good during the sale, still loving my Steeldive 1970 version in black, even with the crappy stamped old-school bracelet. Great review as always!

It's nice enough and decent for the money.
I think of ice and snow when I see the dial (maybe because I’m from the Canadian Prairies, where winter lasts for half the year)
This would be fun on a white or grey tropic strap. Makes a nice watch for a vacation to a white sand beach!
Another winner video. Keep them coming! I Iike the watch and I have room as I recently gave my Steeldive to my son (after spending a week trying to unfreeze the rusted springbars). I love the smell of Just One More Watch in the morning.... Smells like Victory.
Salt flat for sure. I purchased and am using a Addis Dive The Great Wave as the lume is enjoyable.
Ace show Jody, and I'm loving the lume. I think that Willards, and turtles always look better on a Nato strap.
I like these watches. They are nicely made and enjoyable to wear. The price point is incredible.
I got mine for $60 a few months ago. It’s actually very good quality. No play in the bezel. Everything perfectly aligned. Lume is great, lasts all night. Bracelet is not the worst. And best of all, looks fantastic!
I used to have an Amiga 2000 with a 20MB hard drive. I never got the insert disk logo that my friend with an Amiga 500 did.

Link to a better clasp? My Tudor bb homage from Addiesdive could use the upgrade, same cheap clasp on it

I've got 2 SD1970's and now 1 Addiesdive 1970. Lol
"Better too stiff than too floppy".

This model is also referred to as "3D Beach" and it's real nice for the asking price, currently AU$72 all in !!! What a beach.

I love your Amiga 500 T-shirt !
I may do a bezel swap! My black dial w the metal bezel & the white dial w the black bezel
Is it possible to Mod this model? What bezel and dial does it fit - skx007 or turtle? Or none of them?
Hello Jody, I got the Steeldive on your recommendation sometime ago and I enjoy wearing it. I may get one of these for the change of look. keep up the good work
Isn't that originally a dial design by Grand Seiko? All in all it looks like Addiesdive wanted to have something somehow similar to the SPB333.
Salt flat - def. It's lovely.
When I saw this pop up my first thought was, how has he got this already... Then you said it was ordered during the last sale. I actually ordered one of these during the current sale. They were even cheaper around the $50 mark. For that price, it was a no-brainer.

I’ve been waiting for a watch with an Artex dial.

The dial and bezel look great, but when I bought a 1970 previously I found it too chunky for my 7.5” wrist and the bracelet ate up my arm hair!
Looks pretty nice, but I still prefer my $11 Duro.
Pays to always scan the watch cases at Walmart for mark-downs...
I bought this back in March and it's been on my wrist more than my other watches
Great review as always! The Amiga Workbench t shirt made me want to set it up and running again😎Greetings from Greece!
Love the Amiga T-shirt Jodie!
It’s dirty snowball white, as found in ‘Eberdeen’ from August onwards.
Ice or snow field in the Arctic. I like it!
Good looking homage. Still amazing the quality available for not a lot.
Love the shirt! Shows we’re pretty much the same Henry😭
Have you seen the Cronos 37mm BB54 Vintage Diver Watch L6024? Tudor BB54 homage.
It gets better. It’s currently on sale for 50$.
The bracelet has nothing wrong with it. It looks good including the clasp and it functions well. I cannot understand this fixation with stock bracelets not being good enough. Nice review! Liked.
I just picked one of these up for $55 during an AliExpress sale, it's a great watch (especially at that price.
The dial looks like a skin infection I had back in the Navy.
A woman in every Port... 😮
I love the Amiga shirt!
Kinda reminds me of tripe. Nevertheless, I have another addiesdive model with the same textured dial in ice blue on its way - £42!
That t-shirt though, I've still got my A500+ somewhere in the loft!
It’s arrived. Very nice for price is superb. It’s now almost double what I paid for it in the sale.
This one has a chapter ring unlike other addiesdive 6105 iterations. They have the minute on the dial. I think the chapter gives it a much more cohesive look.
The Lume did it. I’m getting one. The dial does remind me of desert or salt flats.
I have that watch and the dial steel the show, always wanted to get a Willard homage and glad i didn't getvthe standard one, before this dial option became available. Definitely a great summer watch in white.
1:05 - - Agreed; looks like a dried out salt flat 😂 but attractive at the same time 🤔
Big thumbs up for the Amiga shirt, and another for the review. Cheers
Totally the look of sunlight refracted on sandy shallows. If they can do one in light brown or misty green with white crests it would be unreal. Cool show -- it took me 3/4 of the way through the vid to realise it wasn't a Steeldive (I did wonder what happened to the caseback....) 👍
I like the dial looks like a dried up river bed or like bed should I go with the cracked earth And I like it a lot I think it looks cool
My only question is: Where did you get that t-shirt?
I purchased and you have was not kidding.. the dial is insane... For 50 bucks there is no better watch.
Great dial for the price. Would be super nice with a red rubber strap or Nato.
I could go with a scorched earth dial, this texture, sunburst on the devil divers orange
What's with the date window at 7:31!?

Picked this up yesterday for £47 all in from AliExpress, your link still had it at £98 minus tax etc
Zelos called this dial texture "hammered."
