Got one last year. It is a great watch. Can be picked up for small money. Looks better from a distance. Easy on the eye and has a comfortable feel. Goes with anything All of the above refer to your Mum, but most apply to the watch too 😀
Haha damn it; as I was reading that, Mike, I thought, "Right, I can use all of this for a dig about someone's mum..." You beat me to it! I was gobsmacked. Everyone who I showed it to who wasn't familiar with Ali brands, when I asked them how much they thought it was worth, said £500 on average. I think the dial design and high-polished hands do some of the heavy lifting in that respect, as opposed to the bracelet and clasp, but unreal value
I recently sold my black Steeldive Willard, basically the same watch, and it had a good bezel action. While I agree about the two-tone lume looking like an afterthought, there isn't too much of a colour mismatch between the hands and the indices in normal lighting conditions. You have to give them that.
yeah, good point, Alex - there can be some absolutely disastrous combos on some of those cheap Ali watches! I think I'm probably just boring and like one colour... 🤦😆A very minor issue in the grand scheme of things!
It’s hard to knock this watch! I‘m still in love with the AD2023 which I picked up for $30. Head of the watch is great finishing, grab and go VH31, sapphire crystal, milled clasp. It’s impressive what they can offer
Ah, nice! And you still get a fairly nice sweep from the second hand with that movement, too. Good shout! They're about £60 at the moment, but if they're that good, I might wait for a sale and pick one up
I bought a brand new Willard for 800 quid (reduced from 1140).., and my Steeldive 1970 is just as good....aside from the crystal and power reserve. The crystal on the seiko is georgous..the treatment of it is something else...and the Seiko has a 70 hour power reserve. But the steeldive 1970 is just as comfortable, pleasing to look at, the bezel action is superb and the clasp is milled. The Seiko willard is a seriously comfy design at an extremely uncomfortable price.
Yes, the Seiko is a fair bit overpriced. And also an homage to their original design. Different dimensions. So I think I will stick with my Steeldive Willard. 🕐⚙️🍸
I have both, the black SD1970 and the AD2117. Both are well made watches and mine show no QC lapses here. Everyrthing lines up perfectly and bezel action is good, but a tad heavy. I've put both on a silicone waffle strap, grey for the AD2117 and black for the SD1970 and it improved both wathes massively. Both have really good lume, but the SD1970 wins with its lumes ceramic bezel. I have a collection of 30+ watches, but the SD1970 and the AD2117 get most of the wrist time. Fabulous value for money!
I have a Willard homage by Steeldive and I have to say that it is hard to beat. I paid 90 Euros, put a waffle fkm strap on it without even checking out the bracelet (milled scissors) and if you like chunky, heavy watches and also „Apocalypse Now“ then this is the best one you can get. The lume blows you away and it also has a sapphire crystal. Who really wants an overpriced, in-house homage by Seiko which has only a hardlex crystal? Okay. . . Yes. . Seiko Fans. I got it. Oh. . . And the logo is of course as mental as the Addiesdive logo. 🕐⚙️🍸
By the time you add postage and customs it’ll be around £100. I think I’d spend a bit more and have a really well made spinnaker or similar! But this definitely looks great value! Not convinced this will actually have real sapphire at that price tho!!
I just ordered one of these for all of $50 US on their fall sale, it's just mental for such a watch. The logo, eh, it's supposed to be dive goggles flanked by two spear guns. I think it's just too busy, I also got one of their Seiko TicTac homages a couple months back and their logo with just the cursive works so much better. I don't think it would look right on a dive watch though, so I dunno, it's not a deal breaker for sure.
I wonder how this stacks against the steeldive? I have the steeldive and it is amazing for the price, I’m betting this is probably the same. Throw it on a strap and you solve the clasp/bracelet issue. You just cracked 7k subs! Nice! Next stop 10k!
I really need to try one! I suspect they're straight out of the same building. And thanks so much, Brian! I really appreciate the support. Might take me a wee while but I'll keep at it 😅
From what reviews I've seen of that, and from what people on here have told me, they're probably the same watch but for the name and logo on the dial! But they're a tad more expensive. They do have a milled clasp, though, which is signed. I'd probably take a punt for the extra (at time of writing) £25 to be honest. That is discarding how much I like this dial, though!

Awesome video man. You had me laughing my ass off. I dig your humor and review style. Keep up the good work my boy!
Thanks so much, John - honestly, your support means a lot! 🙌

I got this with vat was £55 delivered. And I love it. It's a fantastic watch.

That's mad value
Great review! Love it
Best description of the addiesdive logo is a apple visión pro 😂 4:25

My Willard Homage on a FKM Tropic is the cheapest watch I own and possibly my favorite. “I’m no Scientologist…😂”
Looks killer on a tropic 👌👌👌which Willard homage have you got, mate?
@@LumePip I actually have the Watchdives which I’m pretty sure is the Steeldive rebranded.

For £46, just like your mum, seems like reasonable value!
You're doing great work. Very comedic. Nice to know you're not a Scientologist, LOLOL.
Thanks, mate 🙌😄

You’re a funny fella! Changing the subject, why do they put power reserve features on automatic watches, surely they belong on manual winds!?!?
How much did you say this cost? But nah for that price it looks absolutely amazing.
Mine gusslThe watch arrived quickly and is in very good condition. I am ecstatic with my purchase and the excellent quality. Very recommended
now they need to fix the name
I dont like this watch but i like your review 😅
Nice one, Victor! 🙌
Its a capt. Willard with a wavy white dial. Exact second hand as Willard. Same case. Similar but fatter hands. It’s a Willard homage of itself.

Does it really have nh35 movement?
Yes
£46 😮 😯
Would you say this watch (dial aside) is a better deal than the Steeldive SD1970?

Sorry, how much was it? 🤣. Had my eye on this one for a while. A LOT of watch for the money.
No mum jokes or Radiohead references? Youre slackin dude! just jokin, great video as always.
I'm as disappointed as you are... I've let Thom down, I've let you down, but worst of all, I've let our mums down. We go again.
Hate watch reviews like this where they never mention the price...
