Russell has been around for a long time with multiple hits & is still touring with some other Aussie compatriots as the Fabulous Capretto Brothers. He did several sell-out concerts with his band & a 45- piece orchestra at Sydney Opera House & also in Melbourne in June/ July 2023 & his live album of the concerts went to No. 1.
Hush was written by American Joe South . Somebody’s Image with Russell Morris on lead vocals originally released this song in 1967. Deep Purple also released this song in 1968 . Russell’s debut song as a solo artist was “ The Real Thing “ in 1969 . This clip was from 1981 . You gotta luv google 😊. Russell was in “ The Happy Hour Brigade “ that you reacted to , he has played with the who’s who of Aussie rock and still tours to this day . Still sounding as good as ever . Thx Mike .
Mike, Great happy memories, Ta. Gee I haven’t heard this song for ages. I used to sing ‘Hursh’ just for fun, why, I don’t remember lol. Great song. And Russel sang ‘The Real Thing’, which I called - the oom ma ma mhow mhow song lol. Russel was great😊. Gee he’s 76 now - guess we all got old🥴
Loooooove Russell. Rachel's Coming Home always makes me tear up, The Real Thing of course, his performance in JCS was superb, and his Van Diemen's Land album was great. Still performing and I've seen him many times. Great request 👌🏼🥰
Mike, in the 2010s Russell Morris did a collection of 3 Blues / Roots / Australiana albums which I regard as really excellent. Award winning in Australia and I believe in the US. The songs are originals and each album have a theme from a certain period or place in our history. I’ll try and pick one for you. Russell is a great singer.
That was pretty damn good IMHO
I’ve heard another version by Russell but not seen this one live, and I love it. Thanks Way and Mike.

He was in Perth with the Caprettos in October 2024 so he’s still touring.
I saw Russell Morris & Brian Cadd (Axiom) live a few years ago. Very entertaining night.

Early songs from him are on the wings of an eagle, and Rachael's coming home.
